VF LSA Walkinshaw Performance W557 power upgrade.
Having fitted over 100 W557 packages to date, The Horsepower Factory has immense knowledge in all aspects of fitting and tuning the W557 but all Walkinshaw upgrades. As promised, here is a video detailing exactly what goes into upgrading to a W557.

if you want a high performance ls commodore do not go to walkinshaw. The rwkw figures are barely over 400 and in one particular case with an lsa ute the hsv only made 390rwkw at HPF. Owners of gts vehicles with the 557 package have shown on dyno sheets their vehicles make around 550hp (410rwkw) and that it is not worth getting the w557 package.

Yes i've heard this from multiple other people. The torque figures are also overstated. Im surprised they haven't been sued but maybe the bogans who got a car and the 557 upgrade ran out of cash after that. HSV and Walkinshaw typically overstate their numbers. That disclaimer in the vid 'actual results may vary' is like the disclaimer on homer simpsons interview 'dramatisation, may not have happened'

HPF Dandenong they know cars and their Walkinshaw packages tune to perfection that’s why my 2017 VF HSV GTS 30th anniversary is booked in with them in three weeks time from W507 to W557 the most powerful and last package Walkinshaw will ever produced for the street LSA engine W557 ,750hp,930Nm,👍👍🤕☝️

LOL those figures are not what they are getting on the dyno though. As usual HSV/Walkinshaw exaggerate their numbers.

Why show the car on the dyno but not display the actual power atb the wheels? Seems silly to go to the trouble of all that work, show the car on the dyno, then just advertise the quoted power figure for the package, not the actual end result. A bit dodgy if youbask me.

True.
The 557 is obviously at the flywheel. Would be interesting to show what it was at the wheels.
A mate had similar find to his GTS some years back (Harrop) and it was around 409

Because the numbers the 557 makes is embarrassing. Be it on a hub or roller dyno people are reporting lower numbers than what is expected. Its not easy to find a 557 dyno sheet for good reason.

@@dirkdiggler5763 A standard GTS? I remember the Wheels GTS vs GT comparison vid and the GTS didnt make 409 at the wheels.
