I have a strat and the black and blue version of that amp. It's got a vintage 30 and 6l6s instead of el34. Nicest sounding amp and guitar Ive owned in 20 years of playing. It's crazy loud. Could easily get cops called on you in a residential neighborhood. It's awesome

It would be nice to know how much of the bite us amp snd how guitar. My fender champ with a Washburn has some bite but not like that. Just wondering if I plug a SG into the champ how much bite can I get ?

@@hha9527 the mark 2 sounds even better but, there was a video agsinst a Marshall. ..not sure which one but, the Marshall seemed cleaner even though they were similer. Sometimes first impression ..wow this is great then after a bit, either something is actually not as good as you thought or perhaps because its not sounding they way you would like. Liik at a place like guitar center and check out how many used amps and guitars. ..something changed those peoples minds where they traded the equipment in. Music equipment sometimes can be disappointing.

Rusty James yea,i just noticed his isn't like my ht 40,i read somewhere that the original ht 40 like mine does have solid state circuitry ,plus tubes.
Rusty James Thanks older ht 40 has diodes in preamp,theyre hybrid amps..
You should try a volume test between 4 watt mode and 40 watt mode

That is a very nice amp. I nearly bought one, in fact I went to buy it when I was waiting for my sales guy I checked out a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. My sales guy was a jerk and started to bitch about how he makes no money on Fender Amps. I felt so bad I left and I bought my friends perfect made in The USA HRD and love that amp. They are at the top of the list for popularity. I know why now.

Hey Marty. I just ordered the 50 watt head version of this. I've played the combo and it sounded great and I wonder if the head will still have the great resonance of the combo. Any experience on this? I've heard people suggesting the stacked version can seem somewhat sterile.
