Dude...Dave is freaking legit how he can capture each character he portrays throughout each episode of the campaign. He BECOMES each individual character. Much Respect Dave!
i love this series so much because dave is like "okay here's plan xyz! i'm not really giving you a choice here but if i am it's this or that" and rob/jazza/jen are always like "no :) i don't think i will" and dave still hasn't realised that these three are fucking chaos gremlins who refuse to go along with his plans
My sister-in-law is an Assistant Professor of English at a small local college. Today she told me that she's thinking about cutting out the poetry section she teaches in order to spend more time on short stories, and she hopes to include some that she had previously removed due to lack of time. I'll spare you the in-between details, but that led me to tell her about REBOOT. I was like "I know it isn't a written story, but it's REALLY good!" Her reply was basically a good story is a good story no matter what form it's in. I sent her the link to the playlist, and I really hope she watches them.
I didn't know Reboot could get any better, but then I saw the merch modeling!! Every episode gets BETTER! Ah, poor Seb. Put outside like a cat making too much noise.
I think this is my favourite episode of reboot so far, everything in it is so good. I said it in chat towards the end, but Pro is a great example of an impulsive teenager character and it's great. It fits so well with his background, because his entire life has required him to be reactive as other people make decisions around him. So he doesn't think about plans in detail - he just does, and realises half way through 'Oh shit, I should have thought this through more'. It's such a narratively impactful character flaw, and I'm super interested to see if he learns to overcome it during the campaign. Also, Jazza mentioned on stream that he was considering editing out his part of the Uriel phone conversation, but I am so glad he didn't. IT WAS AMAZING, chat was going apeshit, watching Dave's face from 43:55 to 44:40 is a JOURNEY. I genuinely thought for a second there he was going to have to rip up the campaign and start a new one about transcontinental robot smuggling. With that said, I am glad this ended up being Jen's decision, considering the impact it would have had on her character.
Okay, that's the best, BEST merch ad ever. I hereby demand all future merch is advertised this way. Love the hair flick Dave but Rob's sass was amazing
Dave's ability to bring each character to life... Gives me life lol. Love it man! Everyone else does a wonderful job as well but my goodness slipping in and out of all of the npcs.. It's incredible!
Ya know it'd be funny if eve and pro stopped by uglies and when ugly sees eve he calls out "johnny! Your girlfriend is here!" Eve: error error cant compute? And pro looks at eve like wth happens when I'm not here??
Every episode I feel like Jen/Eve make significant progress down her character arc and I CAN'T WAIT to see where it goes. New name? Physical or program enhancements? Human disguise? Date with Johnny? Stop teasing me!
This campaign always painfully reminds me of a campaign which I played with some friends before the pandemic interrupted our adventure... The creator of the campaign, one of these friends, made up an entirely new game system with lore, types of creatures, items, character sheets, proficiencies, characteristics, character art and all of that jazz. He put in an insane amount of work and it's a shame that we can't play anymore at the moment. It was called Cenon and was set in the late 2030s. It contained elements of both Cyberpunk and classic medieval Fantasy, as there were orks, elves, dwarves, trolls and gnomes (and other creatures we couldn't yet explore) alongside humans in that world. There was also magic that acted as a sort of substitute for cyberware, which in our universe was not widely available yet and was only being developed secretly by a few companies. There was little else than huge cities on the Continents and in the most densly populated areas everything merged into one mega city. I played an international contract killer from Seattle nearing his retirement and a friend played an anti-terrorist swat operator who behaves more like a terrorist and has forgotten everything from his past life due to amnesia. One of my favourite moments in this campaign was a fight between him and me. Explaining the story background would be too much to type here, I'm afraid. It's really messed up. Anyway, he came in a police car with a highly ranked police officer and they spotted me walking down the street in a suburb of Seattle. They got out and without explanation he started attacking me. Our rolls were so unbelievably bad that all of our guns were shot empty at point blank before either of us had received serious injuries. Then we grappled and knifed and kicked at each other, but the bad rolls continued. This fight took *HOURS* to play out and eventually our GM ended the fight narratively by letting the police officer elbow me in the head and having them let me lie there unconscious, miserable and bleeding in the night. That was also the ending of the last session we had before the great divide. I want to play on so badly.
I have started listening to the series with my husband. But I am so hooked that we have the understanding that I'm not going to wait for him to catch up with were I'm at lol. It's great quality time together tho =). He works on D&D maps and world building while I sit and work on hand sewing (strange I admit but very enjoyable lol).
Like seriously; I'm confused about what the PC's even want at this point. I thought they wanted to bring down the circle, but Seb is gone full tilt into charity work; Pro is going full NewU, and Eve is going all evolutionary crisis. And everyone is talking like Seb, saying things without saying anything of value. XD Very enjoyable, but I'm starting to get confused myself.
We’re making a set of futuristic/cyberpunk war gaming terrain for our new store, would you mind if we have a nod to this podcast by adding a few “nu you” billboards?
Ah I love when the players want to do something that doesn't really make sense and the Narrator and NPC's cannot see any logic in their "goals." So much sympathy.
Ok, so, I LOVE this campaign so much, but am I the only one that feels like each character is battling for the final say so they can be the wise hero in the end of a conversation? The dialog is really good, though I kind of want to see less of "your not a bad person...", "Yes I am...", "No your not!", "YES I AM!!!!!!"
Im getting sick of this BS "you can't roll cuz youre inperceptive" shit. Saying he doesn't have eyes and can't accidentally see something? Change that shit. Its my least favorite thing about Cogent
Its exactly the same as trying to beat an opposition who crit succeeds something in D&D if you arent proficient and they are. You literally cannot beat them even if you crit so rolling is a waste of everyones time - This occurs in the case of an opposed check.

You're doing the Lords work
You are in peak condition, here is a burrito to bring you back down to reasonable levels.
“Did you really think this was my only form?” Is such an anime thing to say, right up there with “This is not my full power!”
I imagine he just has a tiny child form but maintains the same voice.

Jazza, "You know the characters' names and stuff..."
All DMs, "I wish my players would take notes during my games."
My heart when he said: "its empty". It was just a second but I was so scared.

This ep is worth it for the moment when Pro finally takes out Eve. Didn't even hesitate for a moment.
I just binged all these episodes, now I’m sad I have to wait. 😔😔😢
Great episode as always, Ugly is a blast like always
Finally, loved this episode on twitch
Damn wish the NuYou merch came in a short sleeve

I like to think eve has infinite burritos
I live for the The Hamilton references.
I love Dave's luxurious hair flip during your merch poses! 🤣🤣🤣
Another episode! I am so happy! :3
Okay, but that ending was the best one yet.
I loved the ending bit! This episode was awesome! I can't wait for the next one!
Drink every time Ugly says "bloody oath"
AMAZING so happy to be a part of that.
The Eve encounter on the boat was cool.
I really wanted Seb to plant a listening device on pro and have pro just sit at the table
I hope you guys consider having someone like ProzD be a guest on the channel. He'd be great doing a one-shot or something with you guys!

JHONNNY ARTTTT LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Techncally they have an in into Reboot. They could make Eve a real girl.
Oh gods, i was so scared for eve in the beginning
Pro: do extremely dangerous things directly to the very wealthy people. But OTHERwise, definitely do nothing.

At the risk of sounding like "that guy" I think it would read better if you use ヌユー (nuyū) instead of ヌヨウ (nuyō) on the shirt sleeve.
