Very good camera for safety especially at night as I do a bit night driving and it doesn’t take up much windscreen space 👍🏻
I like the fact it's like a golf ball plus it's about time I had a rear view camera to catch the muppets on phones I always see behind me.
Great presentation. Quite an impressive little camera. I need one for the wife's car as she was involved in a hit and run at night recently and if she had one of these it would have recorded the other cars details. I have been looking at different models and this looks perfect.

Very good review , picked out worthwhile good and bad points that maybe Navitel will eventually listen to . Reason I would like this camera is because I do not have one and I would really like a good camera and any cameras that are worth buying usually cost a lot . So I would really like this one . 👍

This looks to be like an ideal dashcam for in the truck, no major obstacles in the field of view.
Nice bit of kit, as you know I don’t use the microphone nor do I do any night driving if I can help it, but I really like the fact I have a rear view cam, if my name comes up please do a re draw👍
Nice little camera. Good for people like me where normal dash cams are too bulky for their windscreen.

The camera performance at night is exceptional, and I think the trade off from the day time shots is not that bad.

Despite the slightly sub-par mic; this unit is massively better than the one currently used by a good friend who recently submitted a couple of *featured* clips.

Good review seems like a perfect camera for anyone who dose a lot of night driving.
Excellent night camera footage way better than my one, it has poor microphone pickup as well and a magnetic mount would save leaving it in the car all night
An exceptionally well presented review, Gadget Meister is indeed a fitting name. Very unusual shape and appears a bit fiddly to set up. The night vision really was the best feature on this. The cars adaptive headlights, I have now managed to overcome the mental challenge of reaching for the dip beam when another car approaches and unintentionally blinding them, so now just grip the wheel and let technology do it's bit. Did you have the same issue when first using them? It is a bit of a revelation to be able to see well ahead on the nearside and not blind the oncoming car. Having shown this review to my middle son he was impressed so I would like a chance to win the camera so he can fit it in his car. All the best.

Great video for a camera that is ideal for me. I need an inexpensive camera as I don't do that many miles nowadays but need a little peace of mind for if something did occur.

I'd like to win the Navitel R10 because I don't have a dash cam yet, but feel I need to get one because the standard of UK driving seems to be getting worse. I seem to be using my horn at least every other day because of poor driving, like pulling out in front of me at junctions and roundabouts. So far there hasn't been a collision, but one day there might be and that is when I'll need the video footage from the dash cam.
I like this little guy!!! I need a dashcam that has an actual working app to review files.... I don't use a desktop, or laptop. I use only a tablet and of course my phone, so what I wanted out of a dashcam was pretty much this.
1. Not ridiculously expensive
2. Small and easy to use.
3. Working app to review files
4. GPS and wifi built in.
5. Night vision!!!!

My current dashcam isn't bad, but I can't figure out how to use most of it, like the GPS wifi, or access the files without having to remove the micro SD card (most important function to me). The app is non functional. So yeah this one would work for me. Although you didn't touch on its dvr system..... Would've liked to hear how it's app/dvr works. I'd love to be considered for the giveaway. I'm on a limited income and keeping my car protected is vital. Even though I don't drive as much as I used to, it's my only car and I live alone. So keeping it going is absolutely vital for me.... I appreciate the review, it's very helpful in deciding if one wants to spend the money or not.... Thank you....
Apologies, I wasn't being remiss by not reviewing the DVR player, it was a deliberate choice. I take your point, and I can see that the player could be useful for some people who get the occasional clip they want to review, especially if they don't have a computer.
Unfortunately, I think for anyone like me who gets dozens of clips a week, then the manufacturers players or phone apps are slow and are not optimised for all platforms. I can't even use the Navitel DVR ( navitel.cz/en/downloads/navitel-dvr-player ) as it's only available on the Windows platform. There is no MacOS version ..... not that I'd use it anyway as importing the clips direct to FCPX is so fast and simple.

TBH most DVR packages or phone apps that are used for viewing and editing videos that are made by the dash cam manufacturers are slow, clunky, not optimised properly and therefore aren't much cop ..... that goes for Nextbase's version as well that puts their advert into both the intro and outro on any clips you export!

As for editing on a tablet or phone, for you I can see that's ideal and great for your needs 👍🏻 but it's totally impractical for my use case. 🤷🏼♂️

The dvr part wouldn't work for me either because I don't have Microsoft or windows platform... But I do have an SD card reader that I can plug into my tablet..... So thank you for all the info....
Navitel R800 & R900 the best option to choose ( bought from Amazon 2018 until today 2024 ) still functional.

Interesting review. Thank you. That magnetic mount looks good but I wonder how well it will stand up to a bad car crash? Will the camera go flying off somewhere? I'm not sure how you could test that. The microphone is a real problem: did you test the R10 on your side of the rear-view mirror or on the front shelf? I found that my DR02's microphone performed much better when there was no obstruction between it and me. The deal-breaker for me is that it's only forward-facing. For me, a dashcam has to have a forward camera and a rear camera, and a cab camera is increasingly a good idea: "No, officer, despite what they said, I was not using my phone and I have video to prove it.", "Yes, officer, I was wearing my seatbelt and I have video to prove it."
You can see where the camera was installed for the road test in the review……. 😉

Nope, it gets installed where it’s shown in the review.
That night time parking mode is just gold. 99% of insurance cases can be solved with a potato as long as you just get a number plate of the other party, but this here is propper useful. I could really do with that in my car.
Question, how solid is that magnetic mount? Will it stand up to a hard brake or a crash? I'm thinking it might go flying about.
It's strong enough for harsh braking or a minor bump, but if you roll down a hill then it might come off!

Just wondering as I see you use the 622GW. how is it? Some people say it’s a buggy freezing nightmare
Nextbase were claiming that the freezing was due to the slow micro SD cards people were using, which is complete and utter 💩 especially as I’m using SanDisk extreme plus ones which MORE than meet the camera’s requirements.
A point proven by the fact that mine used to lock up intermittently…….and then firmware update R10.5 became available recently.
And just like magic, hey presto 🪄 it’s stopped locking up now! 🤔

@Gadget Meister UK strange haha. Had the Sandisk high endurance card in my 522 and sometimes it was powering on and not recording or will record one second then stop. Used a nextbase card and then it seems to have stopped. Btw what rear cam are you using?
If it records and then stops, or just won’t record, try formatting the card. I found if when I took the card out of the laptop if I deleted the videos on the card but didn’t empty the bin before ejecting the card, it left the files on the card as unusable space, so the camera had nowhere to record video to!
….. and my old 522GW is on the back
@Gadget Meister UK it’s weird cuz there are usually very little locked files on the card and it doesn’t display the usual format sd card message or anything. Just have to hit record again. Has stopped on the new sd card so far
…. if you don’t mind paying double for what is basically a Nextbase rebranded Samsung micro SD card 🤷🏼♂️

The other day she almost lost her car because, the silly numpty bullocks just pulled out in front of her, and her dash cam never saved it. 😱.
That dash cam would be so handy as it feels more update, that the same time as long as it shows you who - who is at fault . And it look really good, and with the microphone insurance companies not listening to your singing they just want to see what happened .

Not reviewed the R9, but it’s specs are similar to the R10 in the front camera.
The R9 has a rear cam, but as it’s only 720p then unless someone runs into the back of you directly, the footage at that resolution is otherwise unusable for anything else IMO.
The R10 as you’ve seen is a perfectly fine front cam if that’s all you need 🤷🏼♂️
