Brother I've been watching you for a couple of weeks and I did buy your good Rockin download program the other day. That program is worth $3,000 you know it and I know it. This video that I'm watching today is incredible totally priceless. So I have nothing to great overwhelming gratitude for you being a musician who loves this style you're helping me reach my goals. All I need is to be able to see it and hear it and I can eventually play it if I put in the time. Going to buy the other instructional courses shortly. You rock
I've been playing over 35 years quite complicated stuff and what I'm watching your hands do is not easy to do and to do it very clean and smooth. I know you practice long and hard and with your direction I'm going to have a lot of fun with this stuff while I get better at it. I want to be able to jam with people and when my solo comes I want them to enjoy what they hear instead of being bored by me stuck in the Blues box. Your years of practice have really done you well
Damian thankyou so much for posting this lesson. I've long wanted to learn this solo and your wonderful video demonstrates it beautifully! Always watch your videos for inspiration on all kinds of rockabilly, swing and jump blues licks. They're just magical! Thankyou!
After I saw you had done a lesson on this solo, I worked it out on my own by ear, then checked it against what you have here. Mine is pretty close, but yours is far more accurate, based on what I've read about Charlie Christian's style. Thanks for another excellent lesson, as well as for a tribute to a legendary player. Also, I'm a sucker for a Florentine cutaway, so I'm digging your J-3!
Man-Oh-Man!!!! Nobody, but NOBODY swings like Brother Damien!! Another fantastic lesson to bury myself in!! Thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge and being such an inspiration to us all. Your Guitar Bro: Norman in Montreal, Canada.
Damian - thank you so much for this!!! I'm a huge fan of Duke Robillard and that jump blues/swing/jazz intersection - and this solo lands right in that terrain so solidly!!! My lord, what rhythmic imagination and creativity! Love it!!! Thanks for teaching it so clearly, with tabs and all!!!
The course both the Jump Blues & the Rockabilly DVD are great! I just watched from beginning to end on both & learned all sorts of goodies. Case of the young dog teaching the old dog some new tricks!
Being able to take these licks and play them in different keys is where the money is. Thanks for adding some Charlie Christian into the catalog Damian! (Joe in CT)
Thank you, it's hard, but worth it. The key is not the usual one for rock and roll, but very useful to know for swing & R&B tunes, I can use it in Choo Choo Ch'Boogie. Such a nice tune!
Have to say. I started watching DB’s videos for the RBilly but have been swept away in the Jump Blues. Downloaded the GRG program and it is Killer. Just finished Big Boy absolutely Loving It. Thanks for the inspiration Damien !!
I'm happy to hear you've been enjoying all the lessons on Rockabilly & Jump Blues. Thanks so much for picking up my "Good Rockin' Guitar" course. I really appreciate the support. It means a lot. :) Keep on Rockin' DAMIAN
I know im randomly asking but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost the login password. I would appreciate any help you can give me.
@Colten Colson thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and im trying it out now. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Damian "Happy Man" Bacci, thanks for posting this. Very cool! Hey, it looks like you pulled yourself out of your back room which is cool, to shoot in your living room. Looks like you're nice and comfortable down there in Florida. Good for you. Thanks for all you do Damian!
Hi Steve Thanks for checking out the lesson. Hope you enjoyed it. I actually did the video in the back room still, it was just on the other side of it. Keep on rockin' my friend :) DAMIAN
Wow, what some fine playing, and what a cool tone you're getting with the big Washy guitar! I'm wondering whether those are the original pickups, and what amp you use for this. I dig this kind of playing, and use mostly acoustic archtops, but I did put a Seymour Duncan Jazz PU on the neck position of a fairly cheap Ibanez AF95, a guitar I absolutely adore, which I bought nine years ago for $320, from a pawn shop in Alabama (God bless eBay!) I really believe the tone is in the pickup and amp for this kind of music. /// I'm a new subscriber - love your playing and I'll be learning all these cool licks. (Btw, there's an old book, _Perfect Pick Technique_ by Ivor Mairants -- and although it's notation only, there's a dynamite Charlie-type solo therein called "Meet the Blues" - in the key of F, and WOW. You'd love it. So there you go, back at ya.)
im new to your channel as im interresting to play jazz ...its a great solo to learn but wut about backing track chords it ll be cool if you do a lesson and introduce em ...cheers from marrakesh
Damian sound makes this so much more exciting than Charlie's. Indeed, when Charlie follows Benny, he sounds so much less dynamic. I think Charlie wanted a bigger, harder sound and had he lived, I'm pretty sure he would have taken the jazz guitar away from the safe, "mellow" lacking dynamic, unexciting sound that became the standard for jazz guitar in the 1940s ad 1950s.

..I'm a fingerstyle type, but that perfect plectrum technique sound like a good read..👍
Great looking Guitar, I can't make out what brand it is, I have a Washburn like it
Washburn J-3
Ramones shirt is enough for a thumbs up. 🤟🏼🤘🏼

Just saw the name on it
I enjoy the guitar. I find it a nice affordable and very playable jazz box. :)
Very tasty, as usual.
Thank you for watching the lesson. :)
Is that a washburn guitar ??
Yes, it is a Washburn J3
Thanks for watching. :)
You've got a killer beard going on there, Bro. I hope you grow it long enough to touch your strings.
that guitar sounds as good as anyone's ES-175, and I'll bet it costs much less.
It's a great guitar. Thank you for watching :)
Hey, wait a minute! Where's the White Falcon? !
