Nope, it has totally different taste than your thought. It tastes like exactly same as if you take like 4 gallons of whipped cream you do taste that awful oily taste, that is what tastes of this waffle.
I'd imagine some places will do that just for the rustic look and crispy caramelized texture it has, just like some places keep the potato skins on french fries.
When I was really not paying attention. I thought the uncooked waffle magically was gone after he flip the machine hahaha It turned out that two machines were on top on each other 😅😅
