Kinda high? They made us fly higher , 40’ instead of 20’….but AT-802 tho…. What engine? Flew a season in a Thrush but it had a Garret…backasswards engine…nearly wrecked it on empty takeoff…oops ! Wrong rudder pedal…. Those of you interested in fire fighting, SEAT required low level background, at, Fish and Game…..towing gliders is a start too using an ag plane ( check out Minden , NV)
Haha! So our best spread rate is 60-100 pending terrain so we dont “plaster” and the drop even. To low of a drop only covers one half of a tree is what they told us in school. But yeah any Tailwheel experience is huge when looking at it career wise. This particular aircraft has the H80 General Electric (GE) 800hp shaft turbine on it! And is a 510G hauling 510 gallons!

Yes, get started researching wildland fire fighting and build your tailwheel experience having turbine time also doesnt hurt. But know fire anatomy and behavior will help!

Do it, the best way is to start on knowing fire and taking courses about wildland fire fighting, it will put you ahead and also tailwheel experience!
