There are 4 crossbows that were developed by the original Ravin Company. R9, R15, R20, & finally the R10. After that, Ravin sold their interests. Overall, I think that the R10 may have been one of their finest creations. The accuracy is widely noted and the power and speed is more than enough to handle any game animal anywhere. All the while, it doesn’t have some much power that the arrow passes through the animal and sails into the next county. It doesn’t have so much power that you have to worry about What kind of targets you use to control your shot And prevent over penetration. My R10 is clocking around 410 ft./s. While deer hunting, I can expect Clean pass-throughs, even in the case of awkward angling shots. I can rely on the power and speed to punch through heavy muscle and even some bone. Not to mention, It has enough speed in appropriate range to connect with that deer before it can even blink. You will be hard-pressed to find an R10 hunter That complains about the deer running off with an arrow sticking out one side. That’s because it doesn’t happen! That arrow will pass through the deer like a laser. All of this, plus, Groups of 2 inches or even less on paper targets out to 100 yards. For the price point, The quality and features that you get cannot be beat! The popularity of the R10 Is not a matter of happenstance!
I’ve seen some in the past refer to the R10 as an “entry level” crossbow. To be clear, this is a very poor description and mischaracterization of the R10. The R10 is a lot more than that! I started my crossbow hunting with a bow that I would consider a “starter crossbow” and it was a Carbon Express, Intercept Supercoil. This was what I consider a starter crossbow. It was very decent and had some good performance characteristics. Stepping up to the R10 was like going from a Toyota to a corvette. The quality of materials and build of the R10 was a considerable step up. The truth is, you could make a fine hunting career with the R10 And never need for more! Fact! It is certainly an upper echelon bow that has all of the performance characteristics for virtually any hunting situation. It is reliable and durable and it will serve you well!

I love the crossbow. The only thing I have against it is it don’t have a silent crank.
Absolutely! You would have to step up into the R10x if you wanted the silent crank. Other than that, the crossbow is great!
Just shot buck at 87 yda and shot 1 at 102 yds amazing bow
Dangggg! That’s impressive! Congrats Ben!
