- Опубліковано 6 лют 2023
- After two years of owning a pair of Sony FX6's rigged in this exact way, I've decided to share the breakdown. I hope it helps you and gives you some ideas on how to rig your very own camera. Follow along throughout the video where I get specific, see all of the product links below, and if you have any questions after you've done all that, ask away in the comments section and I'll be sure to answer them as best I can. Thanks for stopping by!

I just Phantom Luts to grade all my Sony, Red, Canon, DJI, [and more] footage. Use this link to check them out and make a purchase: bit.ly/3Fmu0OM (VisionTeal is my favorite and comes out of the Film Lut Pack.)
Finally, I'm a huge fan of ThinkTank bags for anything from local to international travel. I have bags that are over 5 years old that have been around the country, Europe, and African and still look and function perfectly. Check out ThinkTank at bit.ly/3RXMdK9

Nothing better than a clean, efficient, and good-looking rig, kudos to you, sir!
Hey thanks!
Incredibly useful! Thanks for the in-depth walkthrough
Thank you and anytime! I’m glad you got something out of it!
That battery solution is so clutch!
Hey thanks and I’m glad you find it too!
Excellent rig, Julien!
thank you
Such a clean and organized build! Love it! Tidy cable gang 💪🏽
Thanks bro!!
Super clean
Thanks!
Using the Smallrig TX bracket for the battery plate is great.
Super clean!
thank you!
No joke, the Bright Tangerine sideplates are so damn useful
Love the build! So clean and simple with only the needed things 👏🏻. Did you sell your Gemini?
Any link to the cables? Thanks for the explainer. I have a Komodo but some of the ideas you shared here apply with it as well. Awesome!
Yes thanks so much. The Alvin’s Cables link is in the description.
best online imo. lovely
Hey thanks!
Great breakdown! I'm particularly interested in the V lock solution. Do you have a link for that Shape cable? Also, thank you for introducing me to dual lock! Can't believe I've not come across that before.
yes thank you bhpho.to/3E2bn4j
Love the setup! Very clean and efficient. Really interested how you transport your camera's and gear. I'm looking to transport a rigged (or almost fully rigged) camera. Really struggling with the hight of the FX3 with top handle. Any advice?
Thanks. If I’m moving locally I use a Sachtler DR bag. The whole rig with lens and battery can go in there. If I’m flying, I break it down a bit and get into a Pelican Air 1535 or Thinktank backpack.
@@julienajarry Thanks! Really helpfull
How reliable are the tentacle sync e s for you? I had some trouble syncing them with other devices to the FX6. Great video by the way!
thank you so much. I've had nothing but great results.
Great Video! How are you able to get clean feed to the monitor? is it only by SDI that you can or can u do it Bia HDMI ? I don't really see any options in the menu.
Thank you for an informativ awsome video. Doesn't Wooden camera make this v-mount/gold-mount adapter with its own FX6 powercable? Why did you need to go to Shape to get that power-cables?
wooden camera does not make the cable
Hey! Thank you for the video! Why run the camera with vlock and bpu inserted? For redundancy / backup?
thanks, yes. you can hot swap the v mounts and yes for backup.
Such a tidy production build! What's the battery you're using inside the camera?
thanks KASTAR via eBay.
@@julienajarry how’d you land on these KASTARs given the other options? Any idea how long one battery will power the FX6 + accessories for? Thanks bud
I like your straight to the point approach man. Good stuff!
thank you
Thanks for this! So I take that PL Clamp wouldn’t work with MC-11 adapter? Is there any chance of making one that works with that or similar do you think?
Hey thanks so no it won’t work with the MC11. You’d simply take off the clamp. It would be possible for someone to make though yes.
@@julienajarry Don't have the inside track on one being in the works the aha! What lens are you using here?
Rigs looking good. Hope you and the wifey are doing good
thank you
How are those Kstar bpu batteries with d tap been working out for you? I heard some 3rd party bpu batteries can short circut your fx6?
They’re working perfectly
It seems like you took off the microphone holder on the xlr handle. Do you just use off camera audio or do you have a different rig when you need an on camera mic?
Yes I did. I don’t like it. I usually keep it off and use internal mics for scratch. If I need to have a better onboard solution, I attach a Sennheiser MKE 400 or 600 to the front or side of the camera using a cold shoe and Rycote shock mount or a shock mount by Smallrig.
The Smallrig Teradek mount seems to be out of stock every where, does anyone have an alternative quick release plate for the Gold Mount?
How do you attach the LCD monitor in the back? It's hard for me to see and I don't believe its listed in your gear above. Thanks.
Yes it’s the 2 inch Smallrig rod
@@julienajarry Sorry, how does the rod attach to the camera? It's hard to see.
@@_FrontFootFilms_ it’s a 1/4-20 to 1/4-20 spigot that usually comes with the 2 inch rod. See link ‘2 inch rod’
@@julienajarry Thanks so much! I've gotten that and copied your vmount back system exactly and just received the parts. Super smart. Thank you for the help!
Thank you for not having background music!
you got it!
Thanks for sharing! I honestly would like to see how you mount the dovetail to the tripod plate - I'm currently looking for this solution
Hey thanks. Hmm, your tripod plate should simply attach to the dovetail.
Do you prefer fx6 more than Komodo?
yo, 360p Julien!
UA-cam is processing
@@julienajarry I know, lol, just trying to show of that what a big fan of yours.
@@thatsamuellu ah thank you!!
