I’ve been playing rugby for 9 years it’s nice to see Americans who actually realise the sport is tuff and us rugby players built different 😂😈
Hell yeaaaaaa I used to play rugby union.
*_"rugby players built different ..."_* ... That's a good way of putting it. One of my old mates from way back used to play for Leicester Tigers and he was like a Tree Trunk of solid muscle. The toughest man I've ever known (and believe me I've known a few :) Sadly He suffer a recurring back injury in the end. :(
i play league had a match today. brutal shit
Yo I have played for 11 years
I have played it since I was 6 years old and I brock my collar bone play it so it is tuff
Here in England we play rugby in like every school and you only need mouth guards but can't tackle above the shoulder. There are 15 on the pitch for 1 team
@clouds we did
@clouds yeah rather football since I play it but rugby isn’t bad either
Up here in Greater Manchester, some schools play Rugby League which is 13 a side.
@@keithorbell8946 thats league
@@zzeedstun7151 I said it was Rugby League, what’s your point?
Love this from South Africa love rugby 🇿🇦❤
Also from SA. Keen to retain our world cup title next year

Rugby is a brutal sport but the rugby culture is one of gentlemen. Even at school age, they call the ref's 'sir' and have so much respect for the referee. After the game, both teams will change into shirt and ties and share a meal together. It's a great sport
In my day the meal came in a glass!
Enjoyed this. It’s great to see you guys take an interest. Rugby players vary in size between around 180 pounds and 280 pounds (with exceptions outside this range). Skill level of players differs by position, but generally it is high. Because of no padding, it means that players need to get the contact area right to avoid injury. There are surprisingly few serious injuries and I’ve played with guys who are in their 50s. Once you stop, very difficult to get back into. Worth pointing out, that generally the spirit between opposition players and fans is very inclusive. Never any lasting animosity and everyone has a beer and a chat after the game. Rugby referees are also highly respected by players and fans. What they say goes, no arguments.
i was a 320lb rugby player
Rugby has more behind it then just grown men and women smashing each other ever few minutes. Like one of you's said "How do you get past that?" Somewhere along the lines of that, Rugby isn't a one skill sport, you need to have multiple skills and mastery over a various amount of expertise, for example: Kicking, passing, stepping etc. You must posses a lot of stamina as well, full 40 min halves with non-stop plays (unless a penalty or something like that happens, but that doesn't last long) running back in forth, throwing yourself into tackles, or putting yourself against a ball carrier, running miles across the field, thinking about whats coming next while in play, its very stressful. Yet so fun. Getting pass the defensive line, varies in many different ways. You could be big and strong and just power through them all, but that could only get you so far, unless you're Jonah Lomu or some beast like him. You could find holes in the defence, and run through them, or get one of your players into that hole by passing it to him/her. Stepping, requires a lot skill, you got to know when to step, how to step and the amount of power you put into the step to push of you're foot and speed through. Although, sometimes, Rugby players have a good mindset, and can read you're steps. Mixing up the defence is common in both Rugby and League, doing amazingly confusing plays that even gets the crowd confused happens. A lot of work and intellect go into those plays, these can allow holes to open in the defence to again, put yourself or a teammate through. There are so many ways to break the defence line in Rugby and League. The best thing about it, is that it doesn't matter what size you are. Size literally doesn't matter in this sport. You could be the smallest in the whole game and you can hit the biggest players. I mean, ask Fef De Klerk "The Giant Slayer", it requires good technique, skill and timing, but literally, you can hit ANYBODY, not matter the size difference.
Good post. Important to point out that the game is very nuanced. Requires a wide range of skills and technique in the tackle is essential. The reason that there is surprisingly few injuries, is because players are taught technique in the tackle. Tackle rules also very important. Must not tackle above the shoulder, must use arms in the tackle, if you lift a player, you are responsible for bringing him or her down safely. No pads=pain, so need to get right.
Speed, endurance, strength, intelligence and good teamwork to say the least
One of our high schools hardest hitting tacklers in rugby was 5"2 and 60kg. The guy was a monster. Had a chin made of granite and could smash me who was 6"3 and 102kg at 16...
Bro really wrote an english assessment
@@Demi_7o What grade do I get good sir 😭
There is a format of the game where 7 players a side is played. Usual format there are 15 players each team with 8 forwards and 7 backs. Each player has a positions they play. In the forwards who take part in the scrum there are Props, Flankers and Number 8 and Srum Half.

You are very lucky because in UK you have Rugby League toi ...💪💪
I started playing rugby when I was 5. Being Maori, this was the expectation. Rugby is NZ's national religion.
Same in Wales.
TRUTH!
As a South African, I have the greatest admiration and respect for New Zealand.
(Still a proud Springbok, but I have mad respect for your team).
Watch rugby hits till i collapse this video is nothing compared to that🤣
U can pass in rugby but u have to pass backwards also girls play this sport aswell
The English women’s team is epic !!!
Yep we have a decent Jersey Reds women's team at the moment, know lots of the players, they are just as tough as the men, and many train with the men's team as well with their gym work

Nfl fans make me laugh. We were made to play this in P.E at school in England. No pads like it should be

The reason us from the UK are tough as hell, we start playing rugby in primary school at like 9 years old👊🏻
well im scottish, so im tough because normal schoolyards were a free for all brawl
We did Black v Whites 🤣
UK is gay 😂😂😂
Your lieing us all blacks in new Zealand are the best and always will be
G'day USA. who wants to understand rugby, here we go. In rugby to score you must Touch the ball Down on the ground in the endzone and it is call a "try". In NFL its call a "Touchdown" and to score you TRY to get to the endzone with the ball. Sorry one of my joke, and like joke/sports/arts don't need understand just enjoy and appreciate the people behind it. My recommendation. Juke Shaun Johnson. beast mode Jason Taumalolo. Hitman Steve Matai. Enjoy n take care. Love from OZ

Rugby is a massive international sport.
@Dariak they always have and always will.
I am from South Africa, i started to to play this game at an eleagal age, i can still feel some pains in my knees in winter time from this sport, im 42 now, but ill never give it for anything in the world, it was littlerly the best time of my life.
They play whole games like this 40 minutes each half , they massive men.
Played casual rugby for 34 years. Got a few bits that do not work well now, but would not do things any differently. Despite how it looks it is a friendly, honourable game.
Rugby Union. A Hooligans game played by gentlemen. I used to play Rugby Union and it was extremely brutal and like being in a Medieval Battle.
I love your reaction guys. actually loads of rules in rugby lol.i captained fule union and Blackpool town league (2 different codes) I had my nose broken most of my ribs some fingers broken both shoulders ripped my bicep in half and turned my right leg the wrong way around 180° from the knee down and the only reason I quit was a was picked for British martial arts team .I love rugby lol

Two formats of rugby you have the 15 a side and a 7 a side version. The 15 a side is what we can say the classic version or the main version of the sport. It is played for 80 minutes for 40 minutes each half. The 7 a side format is played for 14 minutes with 7 minutes each half. 7's is fast and explosive and this format is played in the Olympics.
Good evening gentlemen, thank you for posting this. It’s possibly the only honest reaction I’ve ever seen. You probably already know now but if you block a tackle it’s a penalty and the other team takes the ball.
The guy who said he low key wanna play will not last one game
i started playing rugby from the age of 3 and for me is the best sport ever and am 18 so 15 years playing rugby
the best thing about rugby is that you dont have to be strong, I was 14, probably about 5'9 and 60kg, (115lbs) and i was playing rugby, there are a lot of rules about safe tackling
Y'all should react to Josua Tuisova rugby hits. That man is a literal BEAST
There’s actually a lot of rules in rugby on tackling safely. And plus most pros have been playing since they were kids and know how to tackle properly so no one gets hurt
React to South Africa winning Rugby world cup......🔥🔥🔥
Bruh I've played 16 years of rugby, I'm South African and played for my province junior teams
Best sport on the planet
here in Yorkshire, 8 year olds play exactly like that. they get hurt, get up walk it off. and sit and eat with the opposition after. My 10 year old niece is a brutal little one, she had a bloody nose off a bigger kid. still played and took him down. no high tackles though
This is a good explanation of which is sport is more dangerous.
"As a long-time football enthusiast who enjoyed playing the sport in high school, it hurts me to say that I would rather see my kid on a rugby pitch than on the football gridiron.
Rugby may entail more physical tackles throughout the course of a game owing to the continual flow of the game, but I feel the players also have a lot more respect for their opponents. Rugby players don’t feel invincible since they don’t have hard plastic shielding their heads as football players do, and they won’t use their heads as a weapon.
In rugby, precise tackling form is much more important since you can’t just drop your shoulder into an opponent or take them out at their knees. And, unlike intended receivers in football, who are vulnerable to massive hits when looking back for a pass, rugby players appear to be aware of possible tacklers at all times".
Please check out more Rugby! I think y’all would really like it and nice you understood more of the rules
Here in fiji that is our sport we start in class 4 or 8 years old
bra, im a south african high school rugby player and yo when u get hit , its like you meeting with your ancestors bro but they also teach you how to get through pain
I got badly tackled in highschool and the first thing I saw were clouds, then the grass, finally total darkness.

one of the greatest to ever play
He's 6'5, 120kg and runs 100m in 10 sec
May he R.I.P ❤️
When it comes to injuries in the game, broken bones do occur, but most times as long as it's not too bad, players will continue playing. Though you might want to look into Anthony Tupou and his quadruple jaw fracture, the worst the attending doctors had ever seen!
most South African boys play from 2 years before school till university hoping to play professionally. I played 11 years of school season and club the rest of the year
The 2 best videos to watch is rugby superhuman moments and rugby hits till I collapse really entertaining stuff
Adrenaline is what keeps them going after a big hit haha
Only had 2 sports in my school rugby in the winter and cricket in the summer, builds character and breaks bones.
Athletes have the greatest appreciation for the grit of other athletes. Awesome!
Been playing rugby since 8 years old, hitting 27 years old in october, never get tired of playing!
My most respect to the players who take the hits and stand up immediately
Fun fact, less serious injuries and less fatalities than American football. When you get big pads involved and helmets, it's no longer skin on skin. Just like in boxing. When they made the rule you had to were gloves many more people died. You could cause far more damage with a gloved fist because if you hit a guy hard enough on the jaw to knock him over without a glove you'd have a broken hand.
They're not corn feed, they be fed on beef and lamb. Except for the Tongans and Samoans, they are feed on fish, pork and taro.
there's usually 15-15 which are 80 min games with 40 min halftime, but theres also sevens which is 7-7 and 14 minute games. its like american football but you can only pass the ball backwards, and the hitting is more like hugging someone cause you hold the player till they fall to ground and then get over top of him if he's still holding the ball.
No tackling around the neck, no elbows, no fists. Most tackles are around the chest, waist or legs. It is allowed to push another player away with a flat hand when they try to tackle or block you.
Rugby doesn't allow forward passes, it's all laterals and backward passes. The goal is to bring the ball to the end zone (called a try, equivalent to a touchdown). The option to kick it into the goal also exists. The plays don't stop when a player is tackled, the ball must be let go unless the player can recover and keep running.
I played rugby on the girls team in senior school (high school age 14/15). It's played in schools... 🤣🤣🤣 There is NO mercy given when you're on the girls team. We eere vicious !!! Love from the UK. Xxx
i used to play rugby in primary school i remember seeing a kid get knock out on the field for the first time when i was 12 ... im from Cape Town South Africa rugby is a big deal here...we won the last world cup... you guys should checkout the rugby side steps its what you guys call jukes...cool video drop more rugby videos.
always remember a teacher shouting across the field " your head his arse" as a kid learnt the hard way not to tackle in-front of knees. but it one hell of a game to play🤕😵😀
Rugby is massive in England , Australia and New Zealand. Rugby league was invented in my own town as well (Huddersfield)
Played rugby since I was 4 years old, used to pretend to be older as a youngster so I could play contact! Sport played by gentleman brooooos
Kids start playing in school, so you’re well & truly hardened by the time you get to this stage 😄
Lol Google should have said its a real man sport 🤣🤣🤣
Fun fact Gareth Bale use to wear Rugby boots while at Spurs because the tip of the shoe was more square-shaped and he preferred it hile shooting
Tackle rules: tackle ball holder only, 🚫 above the collar bone, don't tip them vertical (not reckless), stay in contact/maintain the tackle, don't tackle below the knees, no dragging, 🚫 tackling ball holder if they are in the air... yes u can tackle from behind if you are in the on side positon. Also... yes you should give it a go. You will really enjoy it! Islanders are a great bunch of guys to learn and play with.
There are 2 teams of 15 players each on the field during the match so total 30 players excluding substitutions on field
My secondary school was a navalnschool in London..back in the 70s rugby was our school sport...so from the age of 11 I played the game right through school and also for county clubs into my 20s ...its a man's game..no pads just adrenaline
love dis yeah reacting to the uk
Rugby isn't a Uk thing😂😂😂 its played in every continent except north America
@@JA-ov1ux true but I think he means it originated here and then spread to the colonies of Britain in South Africa, Australia etc, so different parts of the world but still people of British origin
@@MyNameIsOpTimized720 that might be what he means but when u think of rugby you think of a global sport not the history
at 5:51 yes the tackle was high it's called a head high and they get a penalty for it
Because they don’t wear padding, Rugby players are generally taught to tackle in as safe a way as possible, but that doesn’t mean accidents and idiots don’t happen. I have a friend - big beefy guy - who did two tours in Afghanistan in the British armed forces without a scratch, came back home and one asshole tackled him wrong and now he’s in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Hasn’t kept him down, he was starting Wheelchair Basketball teams last I heard.
My son broke his arm in March and he is under 11 had a operation and last week had his 1st game in over 4 months. And South Africa is the best team in the world. We start at 7 years old
Rugby Union is 2 teams of 15 playing 40 minute halves
Rugby League is 2 teams of 13 playing 40 minute halves
Rugby 9s is Nine-A-Side playing 9 minute halves
Rugby 7s is Seven-A-Side playing 7 minute halves
Rugby is a very old game for men, we sent it to the US and you added pads, helmets, 500 breaks per game and created the girls game American football.
two forms of rugby- one has 15 vs 15 players on the field, with each team having eight substitutes on the bench, the other is called Sevens 7 vs 7.
You should react to Rugby till I collapse
The only two rules I know when tackling is you can’t hit them higher than the shoulders and you have to grab them you can’t just throw your shoulder into them which a lot of people use to do. Sonny Bill Williams was renowned for his shoulder tackles.
Most of the guys making bone crunching hits are Samoan brothers (The Tuilagi brothers) playing in England..Manu, Alesana, and Henry and they're bigger than Brock Lesnar in size.. FYI
We play it from Primary school upwards. I played when I was in primary. You guys should react to Jonah Lomu, Jason Taumalolo and The Tuilagi brothers. I think you would like watching them.
There's different types of rugby. One code does have 7 on 7 just like you have 7 man football in some parts of the deep south where high schools can't field full 11 man rosters. But the most prominent codes are 11 on 11 just like American football.
We start playing like this from 5 year old. By the time you are 16 you are proficient enough to play balls to the wall. At 35 you are considered lucky to still play. At 45 it's a miracle. Your knees and shoulders just don't last.
In my prime I weighed 240lbs and stood 6ft tall. I was considered too small.
Rugby fights next 👏🏽👏🏽 pls
Play it in the Uk on the wet rainy grass fields slipping around the place and i have big size 14 shoes with metal studs
15 players on each side on the field. 8 Front Row Players and 7 Back Row. Although the Scrumhalf (no9) is the link between front and backrow
The most impressive part is that there are no breaks every 10 seconds - they do this for 80 minutes with only halftime
Rugby has both 7s which consist of 7 players on each team and 25s which consist of 15 players from each team
I was at that game that you slowed down. My son's school was playing in the white (home field).
Rugby 15 per team on the field , League 13 . Rugby Union and Rugby League are 2 different codes.
There are rules when it comes to tackling that lead to yellows mostly but can be straight red
A tackle must be below the shoulder line of the player being tackled. Head high tackle.
The tackler can't lead with the shoulder (shoulder charge), must have a arm wrapping the player being tackled.
Americans have never seen rugby in Australia and New Zealand. I’ve been playing for 10 years. It’s the biggest toughest tackle game ever
Rugby has a 7s format(7 players in a team), which is by the way a sport in the Olympics, and a 15s format (15 players in a team) on each side. So the guy on the left was not wrong when he said 7, he must have seen a 7s tournament. USA have been quite competitive in the 7s format.
That Intro kills me everytime 🔥💯🔥dope
Been playing rugby for 9 years now its great fun lol
No there are rugby tournaments like the sevens where only 7 players on the field and only 7 minutes in both halves and then there's super 15 which has 15 players and it takes about 80 minutes top 40 minutes for each halves.
IV been playing it for 20 years my last game 6years ago . body still feels fine .after all the crunches and Booms .new Zealand will always be the best .in rugby
Rugby have changed a lot when I played rugby back in the 80s as a kid there were not so many rules. Was a bit more brutal back then. The thing tho never change regardless if you like rugby, american football or football. The fans are all the same crazy people. I remember my dad sitting in front of the tv going bezerk watching rugby on tv. Was even more entertaining than the rugby.
lol rule number 1 in the field, try to dodge any tackles as many as possible so you dont get hurt lol
They have to throw backwards and to win they have to get the ball across the line on the other side of the field or they have to kick it over into the goal
rugby union is 15 players on the pitch per team, means 30 in total for both teams, rugby league is 13 i think meaning 26 total and you can get a rugby 7s team meaning 14 for both teams
Rugby has gotten safer over the years I can remember when we could dump tackle. Those were dangerous but my god they were fun to do
