What's crazy is this game legit had a DVD Menu screen as the MAIN MENU for what's supposed to be a AAA anime fighting game, and people were JUSTIFYING IT
I do kinda miss those lol, but yea it's lazy and doesn't feel like a full price look.

Are you blind or something? One Piece, SD Gundam have couple of games that different than these anime games and none of them sold well. Even Fairy Tail game flopped. Those games above pretty much followed what you want and it didn't receive well.

The fact that a Modern Game Adaption of an Anime from the 70s (UFO Robot Grendizer) has more love put into it than a Video Game Adaption of a Modern Anime Hit should really speaks bounds of Bandais Capabilities in adapting Anime as Video Games.
I really don’t comment often, but this game really was trying to scratch my itch of Final Fantasy Dissidia on the PSP. As a fan of both JJK and FF.
I’m also really disappointed in the lack of care, and polish. It would’ve been so incredible if this game got the treatment from Dissidia.
@Matt, would you please consider looking at reviewing Dissidia? I think it’s a great example of what JJK was trying to be, and where anime fighters really should try to emulate.

Dissidia games on the PSP were awesome! The only bad thing about them was the balancing, but an argument can be made on that front. Everything else was on point, story, characters, and a massive amount of content and customization's. Truly great games, too bad the PS4 Dissidia was somewhat of a letdown, they should've just remastered the PSP games and added online multiplayer and I would've thrown my wallet at them.
I never thought about using the Dissidia & dissidia 012's formula into another game. That would be awesome and genius.

Would've been fine if it was a mixture of Dissidia and Gundam Extreme VS Force with fast combos and dodge cancels.
But it was a Dissidia and JStars mix, and I really don't like how JStars with the exact same reason of Recovery Frames being awfuly long.

Got the game just a few hours ago around $40, honestly looking for a lower but I went for it because I'm honestly waiting for this game.
I could get past its Title Screen and Story Mode if the Gameplay itself is where it shines, but even then the Gameplay is just clunky. I just hope they revamp the gameplay to be much faster and with more respawn/life in each team and I think it can redeem itself.
3.5/10 for me, still fun, lacks story content and didn't compensate for the gameplay which is what I was looking for the in the first place.
I mean at least they tried something new. It was a risky step. I just miss the 1v1 in these days. They should take more time to create a solid Anime-Game. But time-pressure is a big thing nowadays. But hey if the salesman sells none cares.. Just don't buy any shit.

As disappointed as I am with Storm Connections, looking at how fans of JJK, One Piece and Bleach are being treated really puts things into perspective.
Even on the commercials it was obvious JJK game was gonna be ass.
Still waiting for a formal apology and a refund. Not only did Bandai Namco had the gall of charging $60 for clearly an unfinished game, they even had the audacity to announce a paid DLC at the end of the launch trailer. Hell, even the mobile JJK game is even better than this pile of dog shit.

Honestly if it was like storm 4 had good combat decent polish I think we all would have been happy. But they couldn't even do that much. They should have the guys that work on Tekken make the anime games cuz danm almost all after storm 4 have been dumpster fires

100% agree with everything said here except for the fact I think all the characters felt unique and different to play, even the difference between yuji and maki is impressive given how they’re both melee only characters.

I'm not going to lie, Jujutsu Kaisen as a whole feels very unappealing to me.
I just want more anime games that aren't based on some shonen anime that I will never understand the popularity of among adults who aren't remotely the target audience.

Its not lazynes, a lot of these games are made by a very few handful of people with shoe string budgets ontop of having ridiculous turn around times. something like ninja storm 4 which was an entry to an already beloved series and IP had a smaller budget than Yooka Laylee. bandai namco generally do not fund these games with enough resources unless they pre established or already well performing IP. obviously this doesnt justify why the game is bad, a bad game is a bad game regardless of why, but i think its shortsighted to say its lazyness from a DEV side as oppose to greedy publishers who want maximize profits by creating low cost games with a potential high sales ceiling thanks to the IP. this video is old so im not sure if you will see this but i felt like i had to mention especially in the case of Byking who really are a ridiculously small team.

I think damaging with curse technique but you know what they could’ve done is like you know how you have to use a finisher to defeat someone in kingdom hearts do the same thing where you have have to use a curse technique to defeat someone
One thing i disagree with is that i think more games should use the source material from the shows/ music . Demon slayer did a greay job as they did not release a dlc pack to buy the music.
Byking are great at making characters feel unique and actual play different . Which is nicw compared to other anime fighters. But the budget for this game is tiny and that shows for the graphics and story mode!
But after playing for a week the combat its not perfect but it has grew on me and playing online 2vs2 it actual works pretty well and the servers are decent. You can actual beat 2 ( players ) on your own especially when you learn a character. The things i would like to fix is the knock down speed and make it so you can chain more combos with certain characters.
Overall i am disappointed seeing as this mamga/show being as big as it is should of deserved a better game or a bigger budget. I feel like spike used to be the golden child but now its CC2 and everyone else gets the sloppy seconds of what ever left from the anime budget.
i dont understand how u can fumble translating a power system as deep and technical as JJK. Its just not what i thought it couldve been its just...not tight. to me the absolute pinnacle of power system to video game format was Budokai 3 only think i didnt like was how powerful the later characters like SS5 and Kid Buu were in comparisom to some of the fan favorite characters like Picollo and Ultimate Gohan. i hate Cut Scene Special moves...i want to get lucky and hit a black flash not do a grab move and go into a scene for scene replay of the anime. i dont understand how a character i absolutely loved like Hanami doesnt really have melee combos. he doesnt feel that powerful to me. and then HE CANT OPEN A DOMAIN. WHY it looked so fking fire before Gojo Hallowed Purpled his ass. i just dont get it. its like they dont care about it being a fun easy to play hard to master style fighting game they care more about selling a less than mediocre cash grab. i wish i couldve got a refund i preordered this trash. mahito feela stupid af the only thing i can actually save i like about it is Todo's boogie woogie. the other curse techniques shouldve of felt as technical and thats may be a stretch. the combos couldve been deeper. the curse techniques and domains couldve felt more manual. like you're actually control the fighting. not....Yuta going into a replay of a scene from the movie. they have an actual JJK flow chart explaining cursed energy.
A good popular anime that didn't get a good video game adaptation. Pretty soon it'll be forgotten, when Sparking Zero comes out.

Jjk cursed clash is supposed to be getting the first arc of season 2 as dlc and I do believe that we might get shibuya as dlc give the fire arrow move that sukuna uses

There are some points I agree with in this vid, especially the production quality…. But completely flubbed the gameplay, the most important part. Of course the game is gonna feel boring if you just spam square, that’s why you can… not spam square. Theres other attacks that generate cursed energy way quicker. My brother in Christ you press the buttons. And there’s multiple combos you can do to lead into curse techniques. You also failed to mention there’s a parry mechanic and pretty much completely ignored the 2v2 aspect and how important teamwork is and how fun it is with friends.
I wished you'd given more suggestions of what you wanted to see rather than just what you didnt like. You need to give these developers some ideas honestly

After naruto ultimate ninja storm 1 and 2 we have gotten rinse and repeat. And other anime titles have the same or worse level of effort.

No cuz Bandai says nah “we don’t wanna put effort”. As for every other anime game they’re either iterations of dynasty warriors or arena fighters 🙄 lazy is a perfect word for these projects.

JJK could’ve got the Sparkling 0 or Kakarot treatment. High budget gameplay cinematic and effects, beautiful cutscenes, detailed and big scaled arenas. Clean character models and good gameplay combo mechanics. JJK is arguably the biggest anime airing right now now that AoT is finished. There was no reason we got a OPM A Hero Nobody Knows level of production quality. Is just pathetic that devs think this is a worthy product not only for the series, but to ignorantly charge full price. A $60 game with no effort to make it great. Like “ok” was the bar they settled at. Now when the game didn’t do well people think it’s the IP, not the shitty product they put out

Nah quartet knights is still a solid and fun game. Only it feels like the servers are be held together by like 2 people😂 I had a blast playing that game

I can see people having some fun with this, but overall yeah it’s disappointing. The gameplay doesn’t feel very smooth and the presentation is severely lacking compared to other anime games. It’s nice that they tried something different but it just didn’t work out well

I was sad when I found out JJK was being made by the MH:OJ devs. I was extremely disappointed in the MH:OJ games. I thought both really did not feel well to play, but I thought the second one was a little better. After seeing reviews and what friends have been saying about JJK, I am glad I didn't end up getting it. Lol

I just wanted to play as Yuta, I bought it played 2 games and hated it. Luckily I got a refund on the Xbox store.
