I've looked at about 50 different Christmas villages here on youtube and this one is by far my favorite one. I like how the snow is just sprinkled around the town and the grass is still visible.
thank you for watching! When I first started making a Christmas village, I covered all surfaces with snow. Then I realized the village would look so much more lifelike if green was showing through beneath the snow. Thanks for your nice comment too.
Thank you so much! Setting up a village is my stress release after a hard day at work. The music is always the hardest part as I like to find songs that tell the story of my village. Happy New Year and thanks for viewing!

Stumbled upon your video quite casually, but am so glad I did! As a collector for more than 20 years myself, I know the work, dedication and passion involved. My heartfelt congratulations to your beautiful village project. May I wish you "Feliz Navidad" from my hometown Cali, in Colombia.
Thank you for your nice comments. My village is much smaller this year as my work schedule was too busy. Hopefully, next year I will get an earlier start and be able to do a larger display. Merry Christmas.
I have a Christmas village that just keeps growing and growing. I have no space to put it up yet. I hope to in the future. This is a beautiful set up great inspiration.
Thanks Lacy. My first village was on a 4 foot by 8 foot piece of plywood (and I had trouble filling it up) lol. It took 30 years of collecting and now it fills a 22 foot by 24 foot room. Be careful....this is habit forming lol. Merry Christmas!

Thank you so much Dolores! Your kind words mean a lot to me. Hopefully, I will be able to set up my village for years to come. I often joke and say the easy part is getting down on the floor and crawling under the village to wire everything. The hard part is getting back up lol. Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Thank you Patty. I have been collecting for over 30 years, so this village grew into a small country lol. I regret to say I am not setting mine up this year, but hopefully next year it will be bigger than ever! Happy Holidays!

That is crazy amazing!! What track did you use for the cars and how did you get the movie at the drive In? It’s a wonderful life is my fave movie of all time. I’d love to add something like this to my village setup.
Hi Ann-Marie. The track is by Dept 56 "Heritage Village Animated Track". It has been retired for many years but one will surface on ebay every so often. The movie is being played on a miniature dvd player set in an upright position and the drive in accessories were from Dept 56 Stardust Drive in. Every good village has to have a drive in movie right? Merry Christmas
Absolutely loved your village! I am so excited to put mine up this year!! I’m going to post a video as well. I love how detailed yours is, the landscaping is top notch
No major additions from previous years - except no carnival - but still fun to watch! And so nice to see base of figurines match the platform, other YT villagers should take note.
Hi Jack, you are correct, no major additions and it's much smaller this year. I had trouble finding my Christmas spirit this year and wasn't going to do a village at all but at the last minute, I did a much smaller one. Hopefully next year my spirit will return. Merry Christmas.
Kohl's Dept. store has their own village collection called St. Nicholas Square and they sold that piece a couple years ago. They even had shoppers pushing the little buggys they have in their store. Walmart was purchased many years ago at their store for less than $10, you may be able to find on ebay and Home Depot....I can't remember who's that is but I found on ebay. I have also seen Apple Bees, S & H Green stamp stores and a few other major dept. stores. Best bet is search ebay for them. Good luck in your hunt!

So, I'm one of the many thousands of people who have watched this wonderful video showing off PJ's Catering (at minute 1:23, folks). How does your friend make the customized buildings? I especially like the old Drifters' rendition of White Christmas. Also, where did you get the shopping cart shown with Red Owl Grocery? Is that a D56 piece? BTW, I counted 26 structures in this video that I have. It's just too bad that we have to wait 9 or 10 months to see your 2018 Christmas village. Best wishes, my friend.
Hi Jim, I hope you are somewhere warm and free from the nasty flu bug! The replica of PJ's was made by a gal I found on the internet many years ago. She went by "Red Dirt Girl". I sent her pics of the deli and she did a wonderful job. Then about 8 years ago, we remodeled the building and I sent her color swatches and some of the actual stone so she could "remodel the model". Unfortunately, I haven't been able to reach her for a few years, I hope she's ok and just out of the business. The replica of my home was done by a guy in the Netherlands Joop Eisler is his name. He is a member of one of my village collectors fb groups. He does many replicas for people and very reasonable (a few hundred dollars for mine) I sent him photos and color swatches. He also uses Google Earth to get many details such as roof vents, electric boxes, etc. We had a slight language barrier, but we were able to understand each other with the help of photos of things. The Drifters song of "White Christmas" is a rendition by the US Navy Band, I found on You tube. They have a lot of great song remakes. The shopping carts I purchased on ebay. I searched "miniature shopping cart magnets". They were around $8 each and the food items I purchased from Larrys G Scale on ebay. I'm already starting to plan 2018's display, I'm guessing you are too! You are very detail oriented- I LOVE that! Have a wonderful day. Pam
Thank you for the help. I found 2 different refrigerator magnets on eBay, which came with assorted other magnets including a nice gas grill perfectly sized for village people. The others the granddaughters can play with. I found your fellow Joop. His last name is Essers, and he does remarkable work. I've used LarryGScale a few times for nicely sized pieces.
Jim, I still can't believe you came to PJ's today for lunch! What a pleasure it was to meet you. When I'm done writing this, I'm going to watch your golf video....Lord knows I can use the help lol. Safe travels to you my friend. Oh and I would LOVE to see the 21 decorated Christmas trees....next video perhaps???
PJ's for lunch is the place if you're in the Pittsburgh area! We did a video called Merry Christmas 2012 back in 2012 when we had probably only 15 or 16 trees. It's still on my playlist. Obviously it's time for a re-do. The hardest part will be to convince Laura to take all the pics in landscape mode. She used to be a photographer at a newspaper.
they are lemax. I purchased many years ago. I think they were from the Vail Village collection. There was a hot coco stand and these figures sitting at little tables, sorry, can't find the name
the track is Dept 56 heritage village animated track. it has been retired for many years. I painted it black and made an animated roadway of it by attaching 1:32 scale cars. I've seen a few lately on ebay but BE CAREFUL....a lot of them don't work, however, you can replace the belt for around $120. good luck and happy holidays
I start the first week of September, so I am under way! This year, I am setting the village up in a room that is 24 x 28. My video from 2016 is set up in that area and at the end I pan the entire village so you can see the size of it.
I'm glad you were able to find the drive in. The screen on mine broke so I am using a mini cd player for the screen. The car track is another on that is hard to find.
hermoso.
¡Buena suerte!
Hi Joey. I start setting up the village in September and take it down in January (it's pretty dusty by then lol). Also, I set it up differently every year
Nicely done. I have been looking for the road for the moving cars everywhere. Can’t seem to find them anywhere. I’ve looked online but no success. Where did u get yours?
The roadway in this video is by Dept 56 "Heritage Village animated track'. It has been retired for many years and last I saw on ebay it went for around $300. It was painted white but I painted mine black to be a road. If you look at my other videos, I have used it for a parade, a pathway on a golf course and a trail in a park. This year the road for cars. Good luck in your hunt and thanks for watching. Merry Christmas!
Fantastic village, great job! I have had such issues with the dept 56 animated tracks, the motor always stops working. I've been through 4 sets and finally removed it from my village. Here is a link to my 2017 village: ua-cam.com/video/j7ScjaXocxY/v-deo.html
Thank you for the nice comment. There is a place in Florida that sells the motors for the animated Dept 56 items. It's called Suntronics. I got a new motor for mine (around $30) and installed it myself and it work perfectly. I am going to watch your video next. Merry Christmas
the track is from dept 67 "heritage village animated track". it has been retired for many years. I found mine on ebay years ago. I painted the road way black and have used it as a sidewalk with a moving parade, a cart path on a golf course, a walk way through a park, and now a road in the city. you can check it out on my other videos. Have a Merry Christmas!
hello, at 3 minutes and 3 seconds of the video appears moving cars on the street , what is the name of the track that makes them move? Where I can buy ? Can you tell me the name of this movement system?? Congratulations to the work
happyholidaysparts.com tell them Rick from UMA sent you please! If you are still in need!👍🏽 This in reference for all that may need assistance thank you Pam for your beautiful Christmas displays!
What are you using as a base layer? I use the thin white snow, but am looking to make a change potentially. Here is mine from last year ua-cam.com/video/xH1YIeUMqTI/v-deo.html
I'm hoping you can help me :'( UA-cam blocked our video of our Christmas village because of Copyright infringement, how do we add all the info of our songs? Or where do we add it please? I've researched over this issue for countless hours now, thanks so much in advance , Grace
Hi Grace. I have had this happen to me. First, I would try to reload the video to youtube. If it still blocks due to copyright, go to video manager click on copyright content and follow the steps to remove the block. If you monetize your video and agree to "share revenue" that may also lift the block. Also if you ask youtube under "help" they will have the steps listed to assist you. It took me several tries and finally, I got my video to unblock. Please let me know of your progress. Good luck, Pam

the track is Dept 56 heritage village animated track. it has been retired for many years. I painted it black and made an animated roadway of it by attaching 1:32 scale cars. I've seen a few lately on ebay but BE CAREFUL....a lot of them don't work, however, you can replace the belt for around $120. good luck and happy holidays
What collection is the donut Shop from?
Kohls Dept. store. Their line is called St. Nicholas Square Village
would you post a picture of the total village? I can't quite comprehend how big your setup is.. Thank you
sorry, won't let me post photo. the room the village is in is 12 x 14. it is set up in the center with a 2 ft walk way all around.
Thank you I am trying to visualize it! I love your video. I had to go out and find the drive-in and the track for cars because of your video!
when do you start? if I may ask
@@pammyj100 muchas gracias
Is this something that you take down and put up every year? I would play with this everyday!!!
Hi Joey. I start setting up the village in September and take it down in January (it's pretty dusty by then lol). Also, I set it up differently every year
pammyj100 ,Awesome! I’m just starting out. I told my wife that I’m gonna be in trouble this year.
How long did it take to put all this together
this is a small village so only took 4 weeks. my village for this year is much larger and took 12 weeks
Nice vintage theme
Thank you
Great village.
Thank you, Merry Christmas!
Wonderful, very nice
Thank You, Happy New Year
Can u tell me where I can find the cars that are moving on a track
the track is from dept 67 "heritage village animated track". it has been retired for many years.
Congratulations to the work
Wow! Very nice!
Thank you, Merry Christmas!

Ciao, dove posso trovare la pista delle macchine, o come si chiama quel tipo di pista con movimento
La pista proviene dal Dipartimento 56. Si chiama Heritage Village Animated Track. È stato ritirato per molti anni. Ho acquistato su ebay.
hi love it!! some of you people lool like the are from train sets what size are they ho or o?
they are O or G scale. HO is way to small for Dept 56 and Lemax. I purchase a lot on ebay from Larry's G Scale Store

Hi
Pammy if you don't mind me asking, what is the couple kissing in the drive in theatre called?
it is two separate figurines that I cut the bottoms off and put together. I can't remember the names of them but they are Lemax.
@@pammyj100 you're sooooooooooooo talented and creative 👍👍👍
lol. Merry Christmas my friend!
Luv your videos :) an inspiration!
Thank you so much. Your kind words mean a lot to me. Merry Christmas
Good luck, Pam
pammyj100 how sweet thanks for your help we will keep trying and do as you said., Thanks so much :)
