I’ve had 2 steam decks with completely opposite outcomes I had an LCD originally it unfortunately couldn’t be undervolted at all due to crashing issues even demanding games caused a crash at stock voltage after a putting up with it for a month hoping an update might fix it I ended up getting it returned in the end recently I’ve grabbed the oled as I missed having my steam library at work on the go and though may as well give the undervolt a go see if I’m any lucky compared too last time and I’m thrilled that my oled steam deck has hit -50 all round went from one extreme too the next
I won the silicone lottery by able to maxing it all out to -50,-50,-50!!! Lets try do some overclock and see if i were as lucky as i am at undervolt. Oh yeah my SD is a LCD 64GB ones so if you thought when you bought the higher storage one can get you better chip on SD its completely wrong assumption. Just be lucky sometimes are enough
I got an OLED and I can only get down to -20 on CPU, -20 SOC and -10 on GPU before running into issues. But I'm still getting an extra 10-15 minuets of battery life under load so I'll take it... But by no means did I win the silicon lottery 😅

that's amazing!
sadly, the first experience you had just sounds like you had a bad unit. I'm glad you didn't give up completely though :)

congrats, man! that's incredible. I've still been working on zeroing in on the numbers mine is able to handle. but I wish I had yours!
My SD LCD 256 GB is at -50 -50 -50. I've always wonder if this really works.
I would like to know what SOC is and whether undervolting SOC is as important and changes power consumption as undervolting CPU and GPU.
Yes, I have the same question, SOC means CPU+GPU, so what's the difference between SOC voltage offset and CPU/GPU voltage offset?
SOC is a separate chip meant for many different things like io and ram.
