Special,...special Girl, this LRC 65!!! Not only does she have an exceptional range, but also self-righting capabilities and a clean efficient interior layout. Cannot wait for you to take us into the Engine Room (I have a feeling that it will not disappoint). Cheers - Dave
No ceiling handholds, yet, in the main cabin. Perhaps the next video about this vessel (when we see the engine room) will show handholds-these will be necessary. Lovely vessel, and a credit to Artnautica.
I'd like to see more of these boats. Sooner or later owners will do better layouts. Secured access underway to prevent hostiles boarding doesn't seem to be manufacturer concern. 🤔
That^s the point! Capable and low maintenance. For a word-trip yo don't want a Mercedes Maybach... All you need is a Volkswagen. The only needed luxury on a Boat (for me) ist air-conditioning, enough refrigeration space, good navigation equipment (Radar, AIS-transceiver, etc.), water-maker, 1000-1500 lbs davit and a bowtruster. The picture in the fo'c'sle cabin is known as Te Ika A Maui, which translates as Maui's Fish. Of course all English speaking people will know this as the North Island, the second largest island of New Zealand.
I would have continued the roof line further back to allow more solar. I would add more solar to the foredeck also. If you can get upwards of 17kw of solar you can cruise at 5 knots without burning any fuel.
Yes i was wondering about the dishwasher. This is a remarkable boat. By the way the welding does not look that good and I think you should tell us the sink time of it and where would be the best place to be found dead?
Dutch boat. Build out of (mostly) flat sheets of Alu. Cheap way of building, interior is of what? Plastic, MDF, you say it. Naked metalwork, straight to the point. Stripped of any boatcharm. There are a number of very good casco builders in Friesland who can make a splendid and straight hull so any paint can be omitted, depending on the alloy used. Also the interior consists of mainly flat sheets, no complex corners, just straight on. Propulsion and arrangement machineroom not shown. I think this boat is entirely CAD/CAM programed and might have costed around 200.000 euro in total to build. That's my guess. The interior has a charisma and appearance of a fridge, This boat is a perfect example of quality engineering at lowest possible cost. Just a few and random remarks on my side.
@@zzp1 My guess is that an engine like this installed with shaft and prop and controls would be over 100000.generator gyroscope stabilizer electronics ?I say at least another 100000.On my last boat that I build myself a 36 foot power cat I spend over 300000 alone on the electric just for materials. I think you are kind of dreaming with that number of 200000.
MDF ? Highly unlikely. MDF + H2O = Mushy sawdust. I use MDF for workbenches but well coated with primer and paint. But, a single pinhole and some liquid of almost any kind will blister like nobody's business. My guess is marine grade or furniture grade plywood.
If it's anything like the LRC 58 it has a very low deadrise (zero aft) and shallow draft with a skeg. Some said the LRC 58 had a tendency to slam in certain conditions.
No aux engine is odd to me. Also sure would not want to be in a storm taking every wave into my pilot house windows. The refrigeration/freezer/pantry appear to be afterthoughts. Not having a helm chair encourages not paying attention. Electronics also looked like afterthoughts. Hopefully there is a workbench area with spares and supplies. Things break.
I've been following the LRC designs for a little bit, and really like the long range capacity. The decor is a little bland, but like the multiple berth / heads as compared to the LRC 58
Very Spartan for a yacht. I would like it, though my wife and friends would be wondering about spending so much on such a utilitarian device. Aside from no backup power it appears to be very useful for long distance travel but not so good at entertaining otherwise. I have spent many weeks and even months on long passages in large research and work boats with even simpler accommodations than this one but the crew and I were being paid well to do so. I confess to appreciating a little more comfort and decor in something I would want to spend considerable time living in for recreation and pleasure. Is there any provision for a stabilizing system?
@@joshlower1 only because historically there have been more boats with single engines. It's a meaningless statistic. How many journeys have been successfull because of a backup engine is the stat that matters and if the answer is more than one then I'd much prefer the redundancy of a second engine.
Doesn’t seem like a warm and inviting boat. More of a commercial boat. For a 65ft. The refrigerator looks like it came out of a caravan. Almost feels like a back yard built boat.
Self righting is all well and good until you take a series of 15-20 foot waves that take out the pilothouse windows. Ill take a Nordhavn, or Kady Krogen, thanks.

If that is not a direct copy of a Robert Beede design, it is pretty close. Too bad I can not find REAL info, like tankage, the engine used, prismatic coefficient, etc....
Thank you for the walk through. That is just a weird boat. Its so low slung the visibility for maneuvering sucks. No easy access to get to the bow from the helm. An explorer yacht with a single engine with no back up and an adjustable pitch prop? What is that all about? Way too many failure points with no redundancy. For a 65' boat the accommodations are horrible. What I guess you would call the VIP is a coffin, I hope nobody is claustrophobic. The owners cabin is only slightly larger and no walk around bed. Its just a weird design. You can tell by the designers name they care more about looking trendy than being functional. I mean they put art first in their name.
Cool looking boat, but if you've ever spent time on a boat in sea conditions, you'll appreciate rounded corners on everything. There are way too many sharp corners on the interior and exterior and the customer is gonna end up with perma bruises on their hips and thighs. It may have been built for speed, but not for comfort.
Was wondering if it was a Steve Dashew design, but then i saw the stern and realized its a Dashew knockoff. All the looks but none the function of a proper hull design. See the original FPB yachts go anywhere in the world in any conditions on Steve’s channel.

What a clever position for the dishwasher!
Lots to like with this yacht. Decor is very cold to my taste, but that’s the kind of thing that can be customized.
Fantastic boat. Best wishes to wonderful man, Rob Westermann.
Great little ship... Southbound to the 45th parallel... No worries at all....

I would have a surveillance camera fitted with night vision mounted on a mast to give a better view forward.
I vote for an update on this vessel.
Hi! If I bought a slower stile Yacht I would buy a Bering

That is really a nice yacht. The white interior is a little bland. Some wood trim would have been nice. Cool boat.

For 200000 I think I would buy one. Sounds like a bargain.
These are naked material costs; no labor, no tax; that I forgot to mention.

It's basically a "tribute" to the Dashew FPB series which have shown to be very capable in poor weather conditions... so there's that :)

Still awsome boat, lets see it when it's decorated

finally something safe for the south pacific. those 3 story gin palaces give me the willies. fit it out with ridgeblade wind gennys not solar
Steve Dashew and the FPB series of yachts started this. Check them out.

No reason to.

it has a gryo stablizer, its in the video
This is a 65 ft sailboat without the mast
I like the minimal aspect, could do with more colours thrown in here and there, looks cold.
What's the cost ?
Omg no thanks! Good luck!
All those sharp edges on a yacht that's supposed to face harsh sea conditions is a surprising design "choice."
They handle it just fine.
Color design inside looks like a metal hospital
can it convert to solar powered hybrid?
It may go for 6k nm and it may travel that 6k nm well, but it doesnt look like it'd be very enjoyable to do so. Very utilitarian.
Architecture: Brutalism
Easy maintenance my cup of tea on a LR yacht.

Hope they have a PTO from the genset as a backup for the main engine or I certainly wouldn't want to go exploring on a single iveco engine.

its another FPB/Arksen design.
I thought so too. And based on my very limited knowledge I thought cruising speed is low for the design.

All your “spinning around” has made me dizzy
Won't be as bad as being inside when it self uprights 😱 should it ever capsize. That would definitely be a spin to remember!

Little too sterile for my taste.
Looks much too liking to Oceanic Research. Basically 2 levels up from military comfort.
