My college girlfriend was obsessed with Radiohead. Always trying to get me into them. While I was trying to get her into Nirvana. I resisted but eventually gave in and she was right, they're great. Ironically she was at a Radiohead concert out of state when she called me saying that I was kicked out of the apartment. Our landlord caught my band practicing there when I wasn't on the lease. I had nowhere to go but to walk for miles to my bassist's apartment on the hottest day of the year and sit for hours not knowing what to do. Rock n Roll.
The ending makes more sense with the next song, if you want to call it that, in the album. It feels like a computer coming into it which the next song fitter happier is very much as if it comes from a computer
Some fun facts on this video: The idea for this video was originally intended for a Marilyn Manson video. Thom is legit getting Carbon Monoxide poisoning from the fake engine pouring fumes into the back seat! The song structure and style was based on Sexy Sadie by the Beatles.
Dave, id sit through a whole radiohead album reaction. Theres so many feels and transitions that dont get captured as individual songs. Love that you still keep at the radiohead reactions even if you dont love em. I keep hoping thatll click on day... It took a while for me
The LP this song is off of is widely considered an alternative rock masterpiece. I read a kind of funny quote, a member of the band saying something like “It wasn’t originally intended to be an unhappy record.” Because on a number of levels it turned out that way. But I’m still a big fan of the release. The band was just on a different type of trip for it. Think Radiohead specializes in different. Thom Yorke was convinced the studio they were using was haunted. Among other things going on. I love his vocal melodies on the outro. And the overall instrumentation of the song. The album is regarded as a highlight of their career, and I’m on board with that.
I know you are not a fan of the noise and feedback 90s alt rock bands abused of, but i love the way it turns an already disturbing song (the lyrics, the vocals, the overall spirit of the song) even more disturbing
Interesting how different people have different perspectives and what they consider to be a great song. Not here to argue about the score but 7.7 vs #297 on Rolling Stones top 500 songs of all time. Others probably take lyrics, overall album and are more receptive to slower songs than others.
Dave, it's amazing how you avoided hearing certain songs. Do you never listen to rock radio? I believe you you because you are an honest guy. Kind of jealous because you're hearing these songs for the first time.
Absolutely not, I avoid radio in general except for sports-talk radio (am 570 KLAC in Los Angeles). I've always avoided the radio since I was in high school, and I stuck to cassette tapes and CDs so I could listen to the music I wanted to hear, when I wanted to hear it.

The Blazing Saddles clip had me laughing out loud, Dave.

The ending took from the song but adds to the album as a whole. It leads into the next song.
I love it when you get the bass out ❤😂
I love radiohead
man I need to see your reaction to Let Down, its from the same record. I bet you'll like it

Please review Pyramid Song by Radiohead. It’s a great tune.
I just realized you have the same first and last initials as another reaction guy, Doug Helvering (DH). 😅
Doug is great too

Good just to somber for me
Seriously never heard this before?
Nope.
Radiohead is just watered-down Muse
No, Muse is Radiohead while having a hysterical attack 😅
Radiohead is a good 10 to 15 years before Muse.
