4 for 4. Power Off 180,s, probably one of the most fun ways to develop energy management skills. With a great instructor it can really be a game changer.
4 for 4! Good infomation all around. I know this maneuver isn't required for Private, but it's still good to know about and even practice. Never a bad thing to have another tool in the toolbox.
I did my power off 180s during flight training in a Cessna 152, I nailed them every time and practiced them often. One of my favorite maneuvers and it also really helped me to appreciate how well the Cessna's glide in an idle power situation.
4x4... got my private pilot license flying a Pipistrel Alpha: standard procedure at my flight school was actually power-off 180 landings... great maneuver!
4/4. We all need to practice these more. I use them as a great opportunity to teach Slips (flaps are all or nothing; whereas Slips can be used for incremental change).
4/4 Busted three of these at an unfamiliar airport during my BFR last August! Not a Commercial pilot, but "...a good pilot is always learning!" Of course, the goal was "...landing spot +100' minus zero"!!
4 for 4- all of these tips are great! Hopefully the power off 180 will never be needed( much like a spare tire in the car ) but a tool or asset that is great to have if needed!
Four for Four! Still working on PPL after quite awhile and a lot of larges gaps in between training. Have not done a poweroff 180 in almost a year and a half. But I am going to have my new instructor have me learn them if he is willing.
four by four - Before the PPL checkride, we are actively discouraged from "turning back to the aerodrome" and required to find a landing spot ahead of the plane... But after, I'll be sure to take up the CFI and train that as well.
4/4. Would have been helpful to discuss target speeds and flaps settings when doing a power-off 180 going from downwind to base to final. Especially important to maintain airspeed going from base to final to avoid spin risk. You mentioned it's better to come in high rather than low, which makes total sense, but you might have to trade some of that altitude to maintain Vg.
@MzeroA - Really appreciate these videos! And, how do you manage the choice to turn back (180) or to go straight ahead? It seems there's a lot of energy behind the concept of the "impossible turn." Thanks!
Love power off 180s but . . . wondering if it actually simulates a true power off if the engine is still cranking maybe 600 RPM. If not, you would have to plan for a shorter distance to land.
4 for 4. I'm 58 years old and about a month away from my checkride for private pilot. I've been soaking up as many videos like this as I possibly can.
1 for 4. Also 58 years old and just beginning my journey. Thank you for the content.

4 for 4!! Thanks for doing this!! I look forward to 8 am every day.
Catching up 4 for 4. Thank you Jason and Matthew.
4 for 4. I’ve only got 135 hours of time, and only fly once a month or so. These videos are great refreshers.
4 for 4. Thank you, Jason, thank you Matthew. I need to practice these power off 180s more frequently.

4 for 4! I enjoy practicing the power off 180. Great tips!
Great job Jason and crew. Exiting to see you come so far
Excellent reminder. My instructor taught me the same when i learned to fly at Tamiami back in the 70's. Your videos continue to be awesome. Thank you
I did the power off 180 for my CPL checkride. Went great 👍🏿
4/4 Haven't done a power-off 180 yet... It's definitely on the list!

4 4 4 78 years old got my cert 2 years ago... these are really fun ways to learn... who cares if you mess it up apply power and try again... Thanks
4 for 4. The power off 180, my most dreaded maneuver, esp on windy days. Need to practice it again.
4-4, haven’t done any power-off 180’s since July, thanks for the reminder!
4 for 4! My son is always talking about how important it is to practice these. Thanks for the review!!
4 for 4! Keep these great videos coming!!!
4 for 4 - CFI, CFII, CFIMEI and still love going back to basics
4 for 4! A blooper video at the end of all the challenge would be great!
4 for 4- all of these tips are great! Hopefully the power off 180 will never be needed( much like a spare tire in the car ) but a tool or asset that is great to have if needed!
4/4! Haven't missed a single one of these in all the years M0A has done the SPC 😀
4 for 4! Definitely need to practice more. Just a few under my belt during PP training.
4 of 4. Always great info. God bless you Jason. Keep the good info and positive messages coming!
4 for 4! Keep them coming!
4 for 4. Going well so far 🙌

4 of 4, ironically I was practicing power off 180;’s yesterday. :)❤
4 for 4. Love these videos, 4th year following mzeroa.
4-4-4 Nicely done, this is one of my favorite maneuvers to practice.
4/4. Here in Argentina, power off 90, 180 and 360s are PPL manoeuvres. 360ºs are done making a triangular pattern from 1000 ft though.

4 for 4. Haven't gotten to this lesson yet. Great info
4/4 and ready to work on some power off 180’s…Let’s Go!!!
4 for 4 on it, nice 3:36 mins, well done.

4 for 4, thanks for the refresher.
4 for 4... these are the manuvers that keep you sharp, it's good to practice them once in a while
4 for 4... Great content!
4 for 4. Great way to start the day!
4 for 4. I need to practice these. Last time I did was bi-annual!
4 for 4: I need to add this maneuver to my training flights more often. I have not mastered the power-off 180, yet.
4 for 4 Thanks for the Great Videos and Advice!!!
4 - 4 - 4. Great video!
4 for 4 good practice for everyone, not just those going for their commercial ratings!
4/4 Looking good.
4 for 4 - Hope to get a chance to do this as a PPL even though it's a Commercial maneuver. (My instructor will love it... 😁
4 for 4 great training videos Thank you
4 for 4! Thank you!!
Four for four here. This private pilot is adding this exercise to his upcoming flight review this spring.
4 for 4, Thanks Jason
Four for Four. Well done, sirs! Jer/ Eberhard, Ft Collins Colorado Mountain Flying Aviation, LTD.
4 for 4. I’m a private student currently but am already thinking about the po 180. It will take lots of practice.
Same as you. Would be a nice skill to have in a worst case scenario.
Great video
4from4 another good practice
4-4-4 with a smile!
4 for 4. Let’s go!
@MzeroA - Really appreciate these videos! And, how do you manage the choice to turn back (180) or to go straight ahead? It seems there's a lot of energy behind the concept of the "impossible turn." Thanks!
4/4 - great video again

4 for 4 Jason;
I want to see that blooper video where you had to go around. Put a link in a reply.
4 for 4 - thanks!
4/4 Which maneuvers translate well from simulator to actual? Is it helpful to practice Power-off 180 on sim?
4 for 4 thanks 🙏 guys

4 for 4!!!
Funny story, power off 180s was the only way I learned to land from my CFI, so I thought that was the only way you landed for a while!
4 for 4!
4 of 4 :)
You mention here doing a go around on the first one, if engine is out, how does one do a go around, lol
