iirc she also did the ending scene of Not What He Seems and was hired as like a part time storyboarder for the first half of season 2 before getting a full time gig
Indeed, Dana Terrace was heavily inspired by working on Gravity Falls, and it shows when her little self insert has a hero worship of King at one point, as King is played by Alex Hirsch.
Fun fact: According to a file located from a code found in the comic book Gravity Falls: Lost Legends, Pacifica got a job at Greasy's Diner after her family lost their fortunes post-Weirdmageddon. She thinks of the Pines twins every day.
That’s cute. While some might see it as some sort of downgrade(her parents) she gets to live as herself and get to be a person rather than a Barbie doll. Something that might’ve not happened if she hadn’t befriended Mabel and especially Dipper
That real stone statue of Bill you see in the credits - there was a real life international treasure hunt (made by Alex) after the show called the Cipher Hunt - with hidden clues, codes etc that led to that statue hidden in the woods. It took fans around the world until someone formerly named @shadow_wolfwind (now @OfficialGFMayor) found the statue and a bunch of other treasures, including a Journal 3 with the invisible ink and the sash that granted them the mayor title. It’s kinda historic.
Ah yes. The Cipher Hunt was the most exciting event post-series. Everyone went nuts when there was a roadblock because one of the clues couldn't be accessed because the caretakers of the location got rid of it or something. Alex then had to whip up an emergency "voicemail" from Stan giving the next clue.
i actually saw the statue at one of it's temporary locations! he was stapled onto a tree in some random park of who knows where and i snagged some coins from the chest from when it first discovered! i was the happiest kid on earth that day lmao
I think Alex waited until the finale for the cops to confess their love because that way Disney couldn't cancel the show because it already finished. He's so smart that I wouldn't doubt it.
I'm just now realizing how at 27:13 Mabel says, "It's time for us to grow up." and Dipper replies with "But not too much." It shows that they both have overcome their main flaws, with Mabel not wanting to grow up and Dipper wanting to grow up too fast. Now Mabel is ready to grow up and Dipper is ready to enjoy being a kid. What a way to end it. I love this show!
Funny how Bill was defeated by the very thing McGucket made to forget about him. Ironic, no? Also, at the end, just before Stan punches him, Bill says this backwards: "A-X-O-L-O-T-L my time has come to burn. I invoke the ancient power that I may return." He's gone, but not dead, he's still out there.
In a comic the Axolotly actually explained that he sent Bill into a new world into a new body... And if you listen close, in The Owl House King makes many statements that are references to Bill.
@@kriszgamer0013Actually, there's a theory that he's in The Owl House universe but not as King. There's a certain short, but egotistical Titan trapper that happens to be named Bill...
@@kriszgamer0013 I've also heard it theorized that the "different form" and "a different time" were actually a hint that the Axolotl retroactively created Stan (also voiced by Alex Hirsch, just like Bill) from whatever was left of Bill as its chosen method of absolving Bill's crimes, once Bill became desperate enough to survive that he'd allow the Axolotl to do so. This then means that because Stan (the time-displaced mortal form of Bill) trapped Bill and destroyed him inside of his own mind, Bill himself had stopped Weirdmageddon.
In one of the comics books after this finale, there’s a part where Dipper and Mabel encounter the extra dimensional being known as The Axolotl, the creature that Bill begged for help when he was being erased. The creature tells them that each of them can ask it one question. Mabel, being Mabel, asks what it is and it replies, “The Axolotl.” Dipper then asks, “What do you know about Bill Cipher.” The Axolotl then thinks for a moment, and with glowing eyes says this: “Sixty degrees that come in threes. Watches from within birch trees. Saw his own dimension burn. Misses home and can't return. Says he's happy. He's a liar. Blame the arson for the fire. If he wants to shirk the blame, He'll have to invoke my name. One way to absolve his crime. A different form, a different time.”
What I love about Stan specifically being the one to defeat Bill is that it makes sense! Bill has successfully conned every other Pine in town except for the one he always considered an idiot. And, as a fellow conman, Stan knows that the secret to a good con is letting the other person think they're ripping you off. Takes a con to con a con
Remember, in July "the book of Bill" will release that gives more depth to Bill's character! ❤️ This series will always we legendary and people still talk about Gravity Falls even after more then 10 years. One of the most well planned out series with a story that knows which route it go.
I have it saved on my calendar, and I did my pre-order the same day Alex posted about the book. I think I scared my mom because I completely lost it when I saw the announcement 😅😂
Hear me out, a new series set a decade after the old one ended with dipper being like ford/Stanford and mabel having to watch over their niece/nephew (cousins kids) for a summer. (She obviously decides to visit her brother and tries to repeat their summer of adventure for the kids whether it be smart or foolish to do) Dipper is totally either dating or is going to date Pacifica other characters are off on adventures or doing their own thing, whether that be in gravity falls or somewhere else. The story focuses on dipper rebuilding the journels and adding to them with the help of his niece/nephew who are similar ages to them in the original series. Perhaps there are new dangers lurking deep within gravity falls or maybe its an old danger resurfacing now that bill is gone.
Fun Fact: the statue of Bill Chipher has been found IRL in the location where Gravity Falls is based of, and theres also the Gravity Falls books that either continue the story or tell some stories in between (one of the books being a replica of one of the 3 books seen in the show)
Something I love about the symbols in the circles, is how many times Bill calls dipper Pine tree, and Mable shooting star. even calls soos Question mark at one point.
It is a cool little Easter Egg. Bill refers to them by that because he knows about the prophecy and so that's how he prefers to identity them. It's subtle, but it's his little villainous way of showing they are important.
Also: Listen closely to Stan and Ford's voices while they were pretending to be each other. As Stan, J.K. Simmons' purposefully made his voice sound more gravelly, sort of like how Alex voices Stan while Alex's voice, as Ford, lacked it. Awesome attention to detail.
The finale page code leaves us with this wholesome message: "Faded pictures bleached by sun. The tale's told, summers done. In memory the Pines still play. On a sunny summers day."
While Gravity Falls did have off moments, I think we can all agree it ended off with a bang here. A near perfect finale to say goodbye to this great Disney Channel Show
No, I don’t agree. The only way it would have off moments is if you had an expectation that it would be one way. You’re responsible for your own disappointment. Own it and stop assuming you’re in the majority.
No show is perfect, and objective and subjective are two different things. My favorite show(favorite piece of media even) is Total Drama but that show is super flawed. A good amount of the characters can be one note or underutilized. Some plot points like the love triangle can be hard to sit through. And All Stars and Pahkitew were not that great of seasons. Yet I don’t care because I have a lot of personal love for it. Gravity Falls is a great show yet can still have flaws to it like Roadside Attraction being a filler episode in the last five of the show where things should be story focused, or certain aspects like the boy drama maybe being focus on a little too much at times. Doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy my watch(I bought Journel 3 for a reason) nor does it mean I’m calling something bad for saying it has things it could’ve improved. That’s just media; there’s always something that could be improved(even the best works)
Closest shows in my top 5 I say are close to perfect objectively are Courage the Cowardly Dog and Bojack Horseman. And even then there are still flaws or nitpicks I could pull like Courage occasional weak writing with episodes like Ball of Revenge(which I still enjoyed) or Bojack’s first six episodes being pretty weak which is what pushed some people away. Still adore both
14:26 It had already been established in a previous episode that the petrification was very volatile. We saw how Lazy Susan randomly turned normal and Bill had to petrify her again.
The blu-ray box set from shout factory included a replica of the letter the letter that Wendy gave dipper at the end, and they didn’t tell anyone they were doing it, so it was a complete surprise when people opened them up. I swear it was the only time that a box set extra made me choke up.
I bought the Gravity Falls Collector's Edition DVD set for that extra. I expect that there will be a "Return to Gravity Falls" as soon as Joss Whedon gets to do "Firefly: Still Flying in My Sky" series...
here's a fun fact: the bus driver at the end was voiced by Kyle MacLachlan, who was the lead on Twin Peaks, a show that had a huge influence on Gravity Falls.
It still amazes me how Amphibia, The Owl House, & Gravity Falls are all connected. Stan canonically being Eda's ex, the 'dimension of weirdness' that Ford mentioned is in fact The Demon Realm, Bill Cipher appearing in a book that Marcy picks up, Anne showing up on Luz's mother's phone while she was cooking, etc.
17:10 i cant even describe how much i loved your reaction there. Every other Reaction channel i have seen to this episode IMMEDIATLY blamed Stan for what was to happen. you are the only one i have seen so far who realized its Ford who Screwd up by not simply shutting up and being an Ass. Thank you for that. 😀
Reality may be an illusion and the earth may be a hologram, but no amount of gold could replace the amazing memories we all got out of this great show.
They never explicitly explain the "weirdness shield" around the entire town, but I think it's related to the spaceship that's crashed there--the ship has a lot of triangle iconography, and we know that Bill destroyed his own universe by basically partying too hard, so my headcanon is that the UFO is a survivor of Bill's original universe, and has a shield to defend against him. Since Ford's portal opened inside that shield, he was trapped inside it.
I think Book of Bill has your headcanon debunked by now, seeing as Bill's original universe was the 2nd Dimension (so Bill wasn't kidding when he said "flat minds in a flat world with flat dreams") and the spaceship is decidedly not flat. Personally, given the implications that the Axolotl is literally Xolotl, Aztec god of death, deformities, twins, and monsters, I sooner suspect that the weirdness field is divine in nature rather that extraterrestrial.
During the show’s 10th anniversary two years ago, Alex also released a compilation of all the ridiculous emails he got from Disney executives and the S&P regarding how some of the certain jokes in the show and stuff like that had “adult connotations” that couldn’t be in the show (but hardly anyone would get from the context). To those higher-up’s, a character saying Jeez was considered an insult to Jesus.
Lol, Pacifica's reunion with her parents being overshadowed by Blubbs shoving them aside kills me every time. Wendy being "ice"was foreshadowed in "Time Traveler's Pig"when Dipper tore the bag with ice when trying to help her black eye. "AOXOLTL! My time has come to burn! I invoke the ancient powers that I might return! "STANLLLEEEEEYYYY!" For some reason, this being Bill's final line gives me chills every time. He calls everyone by their symbol names(Question Mark, Shooting Star, Pine Tree) or mocking names("Red"for Wendy, "Grendo"for Grenda in "Sock Opera").The only person he calls by their real name is Stanford. I think it's because he has some respect for him or he at least sees him as a threat. Him shouting Stanley's name is for the same reason. Glad Alex confirmed Blubbs and Durland in the end. "You can't cancel me if the show is already ending!"(Guy tapping head meme). The voice actor for the bus driver is the main actor from "Twin Pines", which was the basis of "Gravity Falls". Glad Melony returned to work with her boyfriend. One of the books for "Gravity Falls" has the twins meet the Axolotl, a large and mysterious creature. They are told they will forget it by the next day and it recites a poem, which refers to Bill. Sixty degrees that come in threes. Watches from within birch trees. Saw his own dimension burn. Misses home and can't return. Says he's happy. He's a liar. Blame the arson for the fire. If he wants to shirk the blame, He'll have to invoke my name. One way to absolve his crime. A different form, a different time.
You have now completed the holy trinity of Disney Shows. The Owl House, Amphibia, and now Gravity Falls! (The Owl House was my absolute favorite of the three (if I had to guess, you're the same way in that regard)(and my favorite show of all time) This has been such a fun journey, and I can't wait for the next new series! 💜
Fun fact: the Gravity Falls complete series collectors edition comes with Dipper’s ‘see you next summer’ note and I fucking cried when I opened it. Also the cases are the journals. Season 1 in journal 1, season 2 in journal 2 and bonus features in journal 3.
Stan and Ford threatening the bus driver has no business making me as happy as it does every time I watch it. But it shows just how brilliantly they, Mabel, and Waddles are written, that we care so much about the latter two (and really all four in general) that we see no issues with the former two literally threatening someone's life to make a girl and her pig happy. It's so beautiful 😭 Gravity Falls is such an amazing show, it was the first finale I watched where there was no way I could truly articulate my love for it beyond just making happy sounds. It just made me so happy. I'm sad that I was a only a kid when the Cipher Hunt occurred, but I plan to visit Confusion Hill(?) someday to see the Bill statue in person! And I'm ecstatic that Alex decided to give us one last piece of the Gravity Falls universe with The Book of Bill 🤩 I can't wait to get it and I can't wait to see what Alex does next. I know he has that one show in the works that we know nothing about, and I will be superglued to my seat once we have any information on it. Even though The Misadventures of Flapjack is technically the start of the awesome cartoon creator family tree, Gravity Falls really feels like it was just as important to the animation world.
When this finale premiered I was studying overseas. I grew up very close with my big brother who's only a couple years older so we shared a lot. We were big fans of the show and for the first time in my life we've been apart for several months. So this finale centered around fraternal love really hit hard.
Fun fact: That statue we see at the end was real and after this episode aired, Alex hid it in the real world and traveled to various places hiding clues and challenged fans to use them to find where it was in an event called "The Cipher Hunt". After two weeks, it was found in a forest in Reedsport, Oregon though due to issues with property ownership, it was moved to Confusion Hill, a tourist trap in Northern California. It's still there to this day.
This was the first finale to truly make me cry. I suggest watching Tangled the Series/Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure if you haven't seen it already, as an added bonus for tts Jeremy Jordan(Lucifer from hazbins VA) voices a character
The IRL Bill Cipher statue was located in Reedsport, Oregon, and now resides in *California* at *Confusion Hill.* You're welcome if you didn't know where it was and you wanted its location. :P Edit: also, there are comics. One of said comics explains that whole Axolotl thing. Edit 2: Your face at the very end just reminded me of that one meme of Joey from Friends. 😂
This finale is BURNED into my brain. I watched this show when it aired at a hard time of my youth, so I cried pretty much the entire episode. I love watching it back with reaction channels, and this is no different. It was amazing to be alongside this journey. To the next show!
GOODBYE GRAVITY FALLS. FADED PICTURES BLEACHED BY SUN, THE TALE'S TOLD, THE SUMMER'S DONE. IN MEMORIES THE PINES STILL PLAY, ON A SUNNY SUMMER'S DAY. I’m going to miss watching your reactions to Gravity Falls so much, Elijah. It’s been a great ride. After Gravity Falls can you react to Seal Team (2021) two voice actors from Gravity Falls and 1 voice actor from the Owl House is in this movie, Hailey’s on it! & Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur?
The very next summer, everyone came back. And a question came to Ford's mind: If Stanley's mind could come back, what else could? He and the others found that statue in the woods where it was displaying strange properties but no signs of life inside. Then he found a book, The Book of Bill. Ford tried everything he could to destroy it but couldn't and settled for simply throwing it down the Bottomless Pit. Bill might be gone but he's not dead. He came face to face with the Axolotl who told him that he wanted to be reincarnated, he would have to visit the Theraprism which is just Multiversal therapy.
Regarding the symbols, back when Bill was first introduced, when he met Dipper, Mabel and Soos for the first time, he says: "Ah, Stan's family! We meet at last. Question mark, Shooting Star, Pinetree... I had a hunch i might walk into you". He was addressing them for their symbols, meaning Bill knew they were part of the prophecy, and that he was fated to meet them someday. It is also worth mentioning that he didnt sound too preoccupied about it, because he probably thought there was no way they could actually stop him
if you are wondering what that statue at 30:03 is. after the show ended the creator of the show made a worldwide treasure hunt to look for a Bill Cipher statue hidden somewhere with a few other prizes and more stuff about the show, which I think is one of the coolest things ever done.
Just so you know. In that clip at the verry end. They teased the gravity falls hunt, Alex made a treasure hunt scattered around the world, it took people MONTHS to find the final prize, a statue of bill (the one shown in the end) and a treasure full of coins and a journal :)
The podcast I started with my best friend is named See You Next Summer for that very last letter at the end. Gravity Falls is one of the best shows I have ever seen, this coming from a guy ironically named Bill. I’m so glad you got to react to it!
Thanks to the Bill Cipher last word, everyone though King in the owl house was his reincarnation in the first season. Since King always says he was "the king of demons" that lose his power
Later on, though, King meets a short and narcissistic Titan trapper named Bill. There's a theory that THIS is the reincarnation of Bill Cypher. (Not that Bill the Titan Trapper knows it.)
After the show ended their was a giant scavenger hunt for the show, and at the end of the hunt you would find an irl version of bills statue, the statue sadly got vandalized (his limbs got ripped off) but recently someone recovered it and it is now on display at a tourist attraction called confusion hill, I’ve gone and it’s basically the irl mystery shack, it’s in California so if anybody is in California definitely go visit
If you ever want to know about the Bill Statue at the end, I recommend Inside a Mind's video essay on it. It was a worldwide treasure hunt. Also, there are Gravity Falls shorts. They were made to be watched between season 1 and 2 and they're all on UA-cam.
Man. I’ve watched this show twice and the ending still makes me sentimental. Feels like I need more of the show. Just goes to show how good Gravity Falls is: it’s timeless!
Honestly, this finaly is so amaizing that I don`t even know, how to describe it. Like, there is so many I could talk about and I don`t know, if words really can describe it. But I try, for the last time in this show: The final fight was amaizing. Seeing everyone from the previous episodes combining their strength is so wholesome and epic at the same time. My probably favourite moment is (like so often) Soos teaching McGucket about anime. I mean, we were all, and I mean ALL, at some point, where we were trying to convince a friend to begin with it (unfortiunately, we didn`t get that gun sword in the end 🥲). That final battle against Bill was just something else. I mean, Bill`s transformation and his lines just made him even more terriffying in this episode. When he ene-mene-mineed about which twin is going to die, I was just freezed. And that scene in Stan`s mind was just phenomenal, I had goosebumps the entire time. I was as shocked as you when Stan completely lost his memories but I kinda knew, that wouldn`t be permanent honestly. But anyway, I was so happy when he got his memories back. It was stated in the real life version of the journal (if you didn`t read it yet, please do it, it`s amaizing) that the mind-ereasing effect of the mind gun can be kind of negated, if the person got reminded of his former memories in a certian period of time after they were erased. and that ending ... every time, that DAMN piano kicks in, I`m crying like a baby, until today. 😭😢 Everything from that shot of the empty bedroom to that perfect last joke with Waddles - it was just so beautifullly sad. Thar show was just amaizing. It was my favourite show in my childhood and it gave me so much on my way. 😂🥲 So thank you, Alex Hirsch and the entire Gravity Falls crew for giving us such a great show. It will always be remembered as on of the greatest cartoons in history. ❤❤❤ Like in the intro: GOOD BYE GRAVITY FALLS
Exhausting. What a finale! Well done, Elijah. You’ve covered THE Disney animated show that was a lot to take in! Bill was a formidable foe with all kinds of trickery up his sleeve, but glad Stan outwitted him easy with that reveal by trapping him and delivering a fatal blow with one fist! 👊
Im a bit late but i think what makes bill think that ford would believe him (about being one of them and not being tortured like other humans) is because i think bills.... being genuine ? in the new book "the book of bill" we get to see a lot more about bills and fords relationship and they had mutual admiration for eachother. in some twisted way bill liked ford (not liked liked just liked but its hilariously close)
You should totally watch a video about the Cipher Hunt they did after the show ended! Super cool treasure hunt that had people around the world solving puzzles and clues.
Fun Fact! in the second episode of season 1 you can see written on the side of the boat stan was using it says, "Stan-O-War" which is what the name of the boat stan and stanford had named when they were kids!
This was the first ever animated show that when it concluded I was bawling my eyes out. Even during the credits I was bawling my eyes out. This show was awesome and I remember as a kid in middle school when this finished airing hoping for another season but alas. Top tier finale they wrapped everything up so well. They released the real life copies of the journals that hid some lore there and a new book made by Bill cipher is also coming out. At the time there was a bill statue planted in a forest but I don’t think it’s there anymore . I do remember getting annoyed with Stan when he couldn’t just listen to ford about not breaking the circle I was like sir now is not the time for that and the way Bill said he was gonna kill one of the twins then it landed on Mabel my middle school self was terrified.
You should re- visit this now that the book, “Book of Bill.” Which is completely made by Alex Hersh without Disney (to my knowledge) and its full of un covered lore! Side note, I love your videos they always make me so happy to watch because you always have this up beat vibe!!!
Fun fact: Due to the circumstances around Bil's death, and various easter eggs in the Owl House, fans were convinced for a time that King was the quasi amnesic reincarnation of Bill Cipher, "I was once a king of demons, I shrank, I always wanted a chair made of people" etc... That said after Gravity Falls and the Owl House there is one other show in this universe that seems few people give a chance because of the art style and I guess the premise is odd (Amphibia), but trust me it is better than it seems.
Elijah, I hope you end up reading “the book of bill” it’s a new book by Alex Hirsh that expands on gravity falls. Basically so much bill lore and revelations that I would not want you to miss!!
after the show ended there was an irl scavenger hunt across the us, and at the end was the irl bill cipher statue. that statue is currently at confusion hill - fittingly a tourist trap
This show has been my favorite ever since it came out, I continued to watch it even during the period where I largely stopped watching shows altogether, and this ending was everything I could’ve ever asked for. I still tear up when I watch it. It is something truly special and I’m glad to see you loved it too
Fun fact time! (now that nothing will be spoilers) ^^ With the weirdmagedon portal closing and there's a shot of the X over Stan's glasses = it was foreshadowed when Gideon 1st summoned Bill in Dreamscaper. In Dipper vs Manliness, the sub plot with Stan & Mabel there's a line of "Nothing is stronger than the power of-" "love?" "-Mabel." And with Stan remembering his life because of the power of Mabel's scrapbooks lol They aired the finale episode on the palindrome date of the initial air date of the very first episode (1st episode = 6/15/12 vs finale = 2/15/16)
I still remember this episode premiere... it was like a yesterday My family was on visit family friends and i new that this episode is airing so i just convinced my parents to watch it there so when the time came i just sit and watch it... and then i enjoyed the rest of the day and rest of the summer but i cried a little of course
There is so much I love about this show. They also have shorts for dipper, Mable, and soos. Along with books and real journals. But most of there is a real bill Cypher statue. And a little fun fact dipper has a real name but is only referred to by his nickname in the show❤❤❤
Basically the end of that credit scene set off what we call the cipher hunt. In which a life-size statue of Bill cipher, existed somewhere in the woods. People had to go out and find cryptograms and puzzles, and eventually they would be led to the right location to find the statue, and there’d be some sort of prize box for doing so. But what Bill cipher said when he was dying, basically is a prophecy to allow him to return someday maybe . However, there is a film theory on the Matt pat theorist channel in which, the theory is that bill cipher is in our world, and Alex Hirsch made a deal with him, and he is slowly, but surely implementing the cipher wheel to defeat him once, and for all by adding the symbols into every work that Alex has done or has been credited with. An update is that the cipher statue was found and was now moved to a sort of attraction, so you can go and see him now.
The finale was awesome and emotional. The battles were epic, especially Stan sacrificed his life to save the world and defeating Bill. I would like to thank Alex Hirsch for making the show unforgettable 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🔥🔥🔥😭😭😭
Bill playing "We'll Meet Again", made famous by the ending of Kubrick's legendary satire "Dr. Strangelove", has always been my top "low key horrifying" moment of the show. Those who have seen the movie *know*.
Remember to watch Dipper's Guide To The Unexplained and Mabel's Guide To Life dear ❤ aw it makes my soul ache every single time I rewatch the show, both the intro and the final 10 minutes. I always cry a little seeing the credits. *me 20 minutes later* awww, I'm crying againnn.
Fun Fact: Bill Cipher's death scene was story boarded and animated by Dana Terrace.
iirc she also did the ending scene of Not What He Seems and was hired as like a part time storyboarder for the first half of season 2 before getting a full time gig
very cool.
She sure came a long way from animating that!
Indeed, Dana Terrace was heavily inspired by working on Gravity Falls, and it shows when her little self insert has a hero worship of King at one point, as King is played by Alex Hirsch.
I think she was a main component on the horror flourishes in this show.
Don’t forget about the Gravity Falls Shorts! They’re each about 3-4 minutes a piece, but definitely worth it!
Oh. And also the "Between the Pines" special.
She was kinda supposed to watch them before season 2
Dipper - “Never put gummy worms up YOUR NOSE!!!”
I always laugh when I see that mailbox short.
Yes she should watch them, they're really enjoyable. I hope she does
She should also read the comics! :D
@@theownerofthisaccount2521 Especially since the same file reveals her real favourite food is deep-fried anything.
I wish she was seeing them off man, they literally changed her life for good
@@tienluong9648Same, but she was at the party and had to deal with being homeless 😂
Dippercifica!
The statue is now located at the entrance of Confusion Hill, a roadside tourist attraction which was the inspiration for Gravity Falls iirc :)
There's a good video about the Cipher Hunt by blameitonjorge that I would definitely recommend watching.
Also Bill got arrested
I've seen a theory that Bill's chat?/spell? Thing gave Stan his memory back
@@kriszgamer0013Actually, there's a theory that he's in The Owl House universe but not as King. There's a certain short, but egotistical Titan trapper that happens to be named Bill...
The Axolotl theory.
Mabel, being Mabel, asks what it is and it replies, “The Axolotl.” Dipper then asks, “What do you know about Bill Cipher.” The Axolotl then thinks for a moment, and with glowing eyes says this:
“Sixty degrees that come in threes.
Watches from within birch trees.
Saw his own dimension burn.
Misses home and can't return.
Says he's happy. He's a liar.
Blame the arson for the fire.
If he wants to shirk the blame,
He'll have to invoke my name.
One way to absolve his crime.
A different form, a different time.”
Yooooo I absolutely love this❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
I instantly knew the first two lines were bill when I learned that triangles equal 180 from the line 60 degrees that come in threes.
Reading this poem again, it reminded me of this old theory that King from the Owl House may have been the reincarnation of Bill
Is it Canon?
@@liamphibia No. Alex mentioned that it wasn’t cannon
Yea! I already have it preordered! I'm so excited for it!
oh shit i completely forgot about that! i still need to pre-order it
God I can't wait, I got the signed version preordered
"Knows which way it'll go" I STILL cannont believe how untrue everything genuinely makes that sound.
I have it saved on my calendar, and I did my pre-order the same day Alex posted about the book. I think I scared my mom because I completely lost it when I saw the announcement 😅😂
Blubs and Durland: “We’re mad with power… *AND LOVE* “
Elijah: 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Yep, before there was Lumity, there was Blubs and Durland
I was shocked not to see her reaction in the video
@@inakamotoBlurland
@@noremac7216yeah I'm sad now🥲🥲
yo please someone from the patrion tell me how she reacted to that, i'm broke and i wanna know so badly lmao
June 2022 - in celebration of the show’s 10th anniversary, Alex Hirsch sang We’ll Meet Again as Bill, Soos, Stan, and McGucket.
I heard that song, it was so awesome!
When Stan and Ford swapped, their voice actors did actually mimic the other. It's really well done!!
No they didn’t
Fun Fact: the statue of Bill Chipher has been found IRL in the location where Gravity Falls is based of, and theres also the Gravity Falls books that either continue the story or tell some stories in between (one of the books being a replica of one of the 3 books seen in the show)
Something I love about the symbols in the circles, is how many times Bill calls dipper Pine tree, and Mable shooting star. even calls soos Question mark at one point.
It is a cool little Easter Egg. Bill refers to them by that because he knows about the prophecy and so that's how he prefers to identity them. It's subtle, but it's his little villainous way of showing they are important.
the ending of this show was both happy and sad, especially when Waddles didn't want Mabel to leave him behind 🥺😢😭
He`s just tha best cartoon pet ever.
@@roktavory7399 yeah he is
Also: Listen closely to Stan and Ford's voices while they were pretending to be each other. As Stan, J.K. Simmons' purposefully made his voice sound more gravelly, sort of like how Alex voices Stan while Alex's voice, as Ford, lacked it. Awesome attention to detail.
I was really confused when I saw it.
@@judeless77 What? It's not a big leap to admit the show had its flaws. We remember it as fondly as we do because of nostalgia.
@@Captain-WavziesExactly. No show is perfect, and this show came close, but it was never without flaw.
“My omelettes, they have friendly faces”
The blu-ray box set from shout factory included a replica of the letter the letter that Wendy gave dipper at the end, and they didn’t tell anyone they were doing it, so it was a complete surprise when people opened them up. I swear it was the only time that a box set extra made me choke up.
I bought the Gravity Falls Collector's Edition DVD set for that extra. I expect that there will be a "Return to Gravity Falls" as soon as Joss Whedon gets to do "Firefly: Still Flying in My Sky" series...
This last scene has NEVER failed to make me cry 😭
God I feel that! I cry every time I watch it
I vividly remember I was bawling to the goodbye scene while having an ice cream bar in my hand
The fact that both her and Letts Reacts's Gravity Falls reaction finales come out today makes me very happy
Same!
I know what a delightful synchronicity
here's a fun fact: the bus driver at the end was voiced by Kyle MacLachlan, who was the lead on Twin Peaks, a show that had a huge influence on Gravity Falls.
Yeah it's... Actually wild. And then you have Rick and Morty.👀
@@liamphibiaexacto, cuando Ford en uno de los diarios menciona a un tal *Rick* en su viaje dimensional 👀👀
17:14
“Ford, Shut the FUCK up, Bro!” Forever my favorite and most funniest line Elijah has ever said in a reaction 🤣🤣🤣
Honestly, that was my mood when the episode first came out like my guy shut the fuck up
Reality may be an illusion and the earth may be a hologram, but no amount of gold could replace the amazing memories we all got out of this great show.
Nice one!!!
Fun fact: Bill’s death scene was animated by Dana Terrace!
Don’t forget he had to call the cops “buddies” to get past the censors
Honestly the Disney executives were over exaggerating WAY too much. Besides kids wouldn't care about the "adult" jokes.

A different form, a different time.
Stan nearly forgot everything when Ford used the memory gun, but luckily, Waddles was there to restore his memory back.
Don't call the 3 shows the holy trinity. Call it a different one pls.
Luckily there's tons of other more recent and great Disney cartoons to watch! DT17, WOY, MML, PnF, PZPTH, BH6TS, TTS/RTA, TGAMM, MGaDD, and more!
Can tou pz give me the full names.
It's so beautiful 😭
Gravity Falls is such an amazing show, it was the first finale I watched where there was no way I could truly articulate my love for it beyond just making happy sounds.
Today is Alex Hirsch's Birthday! 618, the number that appears everywhere throughout gravity falls.
I'm so incredibly grateful he made this show.
I was just in absolute tears when the credits started rolling. It really is everything a tv show finale can and should be.
Pretty sure Zestial’s actor in there too
@@theownerofthisaccount2521why wha
For what it’s worth, I’ve watched Gravity Falls like 20 times and every time I get teary eyed at Stan’s part.
The IRL Bill Cipher statue was located in Reedsport, Oregon, and now resides in *California* at *Confusion Hill.*
You're welcome if you didn't know where it was and you wanted its location. :P
Edit: also, there are comics. One of said comics explains that whole Axolotl thing.
Edit 2: Your face at the very end just reminded me of that one meme of Joey from Friends. 😂
One of the pioneers in animation industry, let alone the West. And with the amount of content we’ve been getting, it shows us the show never died.
A little detail that I absolutely adore is that Mabel's scrapbook is called Summer Memories which is super fitting for the part it plays :')
the fact that bill’s way of flirting is trapping someone in a “love cage” makes the bill and ford scenes so different in this episode.
This finale is BURNED into my brain. I watched this show when it aired at a hard time of my youth, so I cried pretty much the entire episode. I love watching it back with reaction channels, and this is no different. It was amazing to be alongside this journey. To the next show!
Fun fact: Alex Hrsch did in fact confirmed both the sheriff and deputy are officially a couple
One of those rare series finales that could easily argued to be the best episode.
30:05 that is a real statue in the real world btw
The line "Stress will make you chewy" was so funny!!! I love Stan!!!
And now we have the book of Bill and a probibal season 3 (probably prequel) we are thriving in the best timeline!
i cried wean they got on the bus
“What’s Stan gonna forget? The whole summer?”
The memory gun set to erase “Stan Pines”: Uhh… little more than that
The podcast I started with my best friend is named See You Next Summer for that very last letter at the end.
23:04: I KNEW Elijah was gonna cry from Stan losing his memory! 😭
After the show ended their was a giant scavenger hunt for the show, and at the end of the hunt you would find an irl version of bills statue, the statue sadly got vandalized (his limbs got ripped off) but recently someone recovered it and it is now on display at a tourist attraction called confusion hill, I’ve gone and it’s basically the irl mystery shack, it’s in California so if anybody is in California definitely go visit
if i knew someone was having a blind reaction in 2024 i would have been following day 1...glad you loved it so much
Fun fact:after bill was defeated he got to meet with the axolotl and he got put in therapy after that😅
Fun fact billford is heavily implied to be canon in the book of bill
that looooooooong moment where it felt like Stan would lose his memory forever was the moment when Falls went from good to great.
DID WE END OUR REACTION THE SAME DAY?! That’s wild, hope you had as much fun as we did!!!
Oh, no way! Yasss, what a great finale! Glad to hear you guys also had fun 😄 Thanks for commenting!
8:04: YOU'RE WELCOME. (
It’s funny how Bills plan to make Ford immortal was probably true, considering that (SPOILERS) In the book of Bill, Bill was in love with Ford
Honestly, this finaly is so amaizing that I don`t even know, how to describe it. Like, there is so many I could talk about and I don`t know, if words really can describe it. But I try, for the last time in this show:
The final fight was amaizing.
Like in the intro: GOOD BYE GRAVITY FALLS
Im a bit late but i think what makes bill think that ford would believe him (about being one of them and not being tortured like other humans) is because i think bills.... being genuine ? in the new book "the book of bill" we get to see a lot more about bills and fords relationship and they had mutual admiration for eachother. in some twisted way bill liked ford (not liked liked just liked but its hilariously close)
goodbye Gravity Falls... hello Over The Garden Wall ;)
You should totally watch a video about the Cipher Hunt they did after the show ended! Super cool treasure hunt that had people around the world solving puzzles and clues.
Not sure you noticed but pacifica put a heart in her signature on the note :)
"I've got some children I need to make into corpses!!"
Not gonna lie, that line was very scary.
Fun Fact! in the second episode of season 1 you can see written on the side of the boat stan was using it says, "Stan-O-War" which is what the name of the boat stan and stanford had named when they were kids!
Ford's problem is he always has to be the smartest person in the room, Stan's problem is he cam never put up with people for very long.
King is bill cipher confirmed. Yay
17:12 I'm so glad I waited to watch Mosco's video. I love the comparing and contrasting views.
It is something truly special and I’m glad to see you loved it too
Fun Fact: On the first couple airings, Ford's gun wasn't a sci-fi laser gun :)
The fucked up thing is that the t-rex was canonically still alive, they fr just killed that mf
Fun fact time! (now that nothing will be spoilers) ^^
With the weirdmagedon portal closing and there's a shot of the X over Stan's glasses = it was foreshadowed when Gideon 1st summoned Bill in Dreamscaper.
In Dipper vs Manliness, the sub plot with Stan & Mabel there's a line of "Nothing is stronger than the power of-" "love?" "-Mabel." And with Stan remembering his life because of the power of Mabel's scrapbooks lol
They aired the finale episode on the palindrome date of the initial air date of the very first episode (1st episode = 6/15/12 vs finale = 2/15/16)
I still remember this episode premiere... it was like a yesterday
My family was on visit family friends and i new that this episode is airing so i just convinced my parents to watch it there so when the time came i just sit and watch it... and then i enjoyed the rest of the day and rest of the summer but i cried a little of course
I kinda wanted to see Elijah’s reaction to Bill’s backwards message…
29:47 Mabel x Mable for life!
The finale was awesome and emotional. The battles were epic, especially Stan sacrificed his life to save the world and defeating Bill. I would like to thank Alex Hirsch for making the show unforgettable
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🔥🔥🔥😭😭😭
Bill playing "We'll Meet Again", made famous by the ending of Kubrick's legendary satire "Dr. Strangelove", has always been my top "low key horrifying" moment of the show. Those who have seen the movie *know*.
Soos: "I liked you better before you talked."
LOL!!! Soos always makes me laugh.
