@seal bear St Mark was the first Pope over Egypt in the 1st century, not St Peter over Rome. Rome and Catholicism have always been about war, conquest and politics, and still that's the only thing Catholics speak of; earthly glory. The Orthodox Churches are the oldest in the world in countries like Armenia, Jerusalem, Egypt and Greece. If it weren't for the Coptic Church and people like Athanasius the Great, you might have not been what you are now. Get your facts right because I am tired of your ignorance, people.
@Wicked Lester No I'm not dumb, I know that Catholics think so. St Peter's faith being the rock that Christ's church would be built on didn't make him a pope, because being a pope is a hierarchical role. And even if it was was so, why would his role be inclusive to Rome? He did evangelize Rome, and so did Paul, but Jesus didn't call him a Rock in Rome, did he?

I'm not a religious person, but I find religious art fascinating: On the image on the left, or Madonna of the Lilies by William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1899), Mother Mary holds the newborn baby Jesus, showing him to the world. To me, her expression shows reverence, or perhaps what seems like a knowledge of what will happen in the future. Her hands seem to barely contain the baby. In stark contrast the image on the right, Pieta also by William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1876), Mother Mary holds Jesus after his death. For me, the image shows such emotion in her eyes and face, the sorrow, the lament of losing her son. The grip of her hands, to me, seems as if she is unwilling to let go. The emotion must be so palpable because William made this painting shortly after the death of his first son Georges who was only 16 years old. Another interesting fact about William-Adolphe Bouguereau: In 1900 Degas and Monet were asked in an interview to name the artist they thought would be remembered as the greatest nineteenth century painter. Their answer was William Bouguereau.
Thank you for this information. It makes the painting even more moving! And your interpretation is beautiful! It’s hard to believe you’re not a religious person!

im gonna be honest im not as religious as i should be but the one time that i got to go to the vatican and travel around rome oh boy i felt soo good as a catholic seeing that after 2000 years i am heritage of the catholic church and the roman empire to some extent and seeing all of those basilicas and ruins after the romans. it made me feel proud for once that i am a catholic european. the pope passed by like a metre or two away from me during the audience and discovering all of the wonders of the ancients and the vatican for myself maaaan, all i want to do is to return to rome. i and rome are a 1000km apart but it feels not so far away when there is so many wonders awaiting for my return. if you havent already been to rome i highly suggest to see it at least once in your lifetime. good spiritiual experience if you are a christian but if not there is so much history in every corner. the colloseum, pantheon, the ruins of the forum, oldest road system in the world and some stones are still there as they had been thousands of years ago, and of course the pearl of rome - the vatican that is so beautiful both on the inside and the outside, appearently previous popes threw a lot of money into the building of it because at some point the indulgence was paid and so expensive that it lead to the split into the catholics and protestans so brooo pope really wanted a nice place, gold and mosaicas everywhere with authentic relics, tombs dating back to the middle ages maan i spent so much on the writing of it for no reason which only proves that its worth visiting. have a nice day, you, who read it for no clear reason.

On Good Friday, we remember a crucifixion. The crucifixion of a Man with undeniable compassion, empathy, and love. Love not only towards his kind, but for all that came to him. Some that came to him, even came to believe that he was the Son of God. Not only because of what he said, but also because of what he did. Miracles. Three days after his crucifixion, his resurrection was witnessed by those close to him and later by many others, forever changing the face of the Earth. This crucifixion took place about two millennia ago, and we find that today, despite attacks not only towards this Man and his message, billions of men and women of all races from all over the world, are still living by the words, actions, and deeds of this Man. On Christmas we honor his birth. On Good Friday, we remember his crucifixion. On Easter Sunday we celebrate his resurrection. The four gospels by Mark, Matthew, Luke, and John, are the words of Jesus to understand his message of humility and service. "Peace be with you" JC33

9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
One holy Catholic and apostolic church, one with the legendary saints
God bless you! :) Not only Catholics church has apostolic continuity and legendary saints.. :) But Orthodox church also has all these things. I hope one day all apostolic churches will be again one institute as it was in first centuries of Christianity.. :)
@Wicked Lester
No I'm not dumb, I know that Catholics think so.

I'm not a religious person, but I find religious art fascinating:
On the image on the left, or Madonna of the Lilies by William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1899), Mother Mary holds the newborn baby Jesus, showing him to the world.
Another interesting fact about William-Adolphe Bouguereau:
In 1900 Degas and Monet were asked in an interview to name the artist they thought would be remembered as the greatest nineteenth century painter. Their answer was William Bouguereau.
Thank you for this information. It makes the painting even more moving! And your interpretation is beautiful! It’s hard to believe you’re not a religious person!
I add my thanks.
Wow....appreciate your sharing that....the art and music, and your insight makes my faith in Jesus and Mary richer.
Thanks for the info. I can feel my own son in my arms as I look at this.
When you see a Bouguereau in real life you understand why they said that. Breathtaking!
Que DIOS bendiga nuestras almas. Amén.

I was raised as a Catholic and even though I no longer follow that faith, so much has stayed with me. I prefer a direct line to the Creator but this music brings me to tears. It’s the feeling it invokes that raises ones soul to new heights. Bless everyone, love one another and pray for our planet 🌎🙏
Catholics DO have a direct line with God.We all do,all people whether we are Christian's or not. That's one if the reasons Jesus came here,to remind us all that He still loves us and wants us to keep our ties together.🙏
@@danbytp I agree. What is more direct than receiving the Body of Christ through Holy Communion, or being able to cast our gaze upon Him in Adoration?
@@nataliek878 I'm glad to see that I'm not alone in seeing this.Thank you my friend.🙏
Catholics have a direct line to the creator it's just that we ask other to pray for us and we pray for eachother in heaven or eatth, says so in the bible.

im gonna be honest im not as religious as i should be but the one time that i got to go to the vatican and travel around rome oh boy i felt soo good as a catholic seeing that after 2000 years i am heritage of the catholic church and the roman empire to some extent and seeing all of those basilicas and ruins after the romans. it made me feel proud for once that i am a catholic european.
the pope passed by like a metre or two away from me during the audience and discovering all of the wonders of the ancients and the vatican for myself maaaan, all i want to do is to return to rome.
i and rome are a 1000km apart but it feels not so far away when there is so many wonders awaiting for my return.
if you havent already been to rome i highly suggest to see it at least once in your lifetime. good spiritiual experience if you are a christian but if not there is so much history in every corner. the colloseum, pantheon, the ruins of the forum, oldest road system in the world and some stones are still there as they had been thousands of years ago, and of course the pearl of rome - the vatican that is so beautiful both on the inside and the outside, appearently previous popes threw a lot of money into the building of it because at some point the indulgence was paid and so expensive that it lead to the split into the catholics and protestans so brooo pope really wanted a nice place, gold and mosaicas everywhere with authentic relics, tombs dating back to the middle ages maan i spent so much on the writing of it for no reason which only proves that its worth visiting. have a nice day, you, who read it for no clear reason.
I loved Rome as well. Many years after, I have returned to my Catholic faith and Rome and all the Holy Lands have so much more meaning now! Truth, Goodness and Beauty. Travel the path of Beauty back to your faith. No time to waste!
