Thanks for an interesting review, Brian. I can see that a heater like that could be useful way down south for "taking the chill off" garages" without taking up floor space. Dreo seems to be pretty good at taking old concepts, applying some new design ideas, and delivering products that work in today's homes. I'm guessing the Dreo would keep your sled dogs comfortable between Iditarods and other such races?
Studs in the US (and apparently Canada) are 16 inches on center. The Dreo, by your measurement, is 14.5 inches on center. Another method, you could have added the wood vertically on the inside of the 2 studs. Laminating is what it is called in woodworking. I'm not a contractor so not sure what it is called for the purpose you need it for. Adding them vertically would allow for attaching at 14.5" on center and have it centered between the two studs. Your way is fine too. 😊
Space heaters should never be plugged into anything other than the wall socket. You can search "space heater fire hazard" for more information. I provided a link below. www.cpsc.gov/Newsroom/News-Releases/2023/CPSC-Warns-Consumers-to-be-Cautious-When-Using-Space-Heaters-Furnaces-and-Fireplaces-This-Winter#:~:text=Portable%20heaters%20can%20cause%20fires,feet%20away%20from%20these%20materials.
A single insulated, I THINK. It'll depend on how well insulated. It'll definitely get it warmer in there and you won't have any trouble starting things, but I don't want to guarantee you a 35 C turnaround, especially without knowing anything about the space other than insulated.
Don't bother buying this. Every smart heater he has recommended has been recalled, and this one will likely also be. The US does not like smart functions. Dyson does not even have the ability to use smart functions for heat in the US.

do that many people really worry over $72/year? ive been pretty broke but never would have been spending much time making decisions over such a small amount. and ive found that a nice pair of sweatpants and a hoodie require no power, wont light themselves on fire and are also just more comfy. problem solved.
For me and my location it is more like $150/mo. I have a gas furnace and natural gas where I am at is stupid expensive. Additionally, the house I moved into has some needed updates to be made. I have no plan to buy these but I did buy a couple of $55 radiant heaters. It keeps the house at a minimum temperature and means the furnace runs a lot less. A bonus by doing this, is that my house is not drying out. I have yet to pull out the humidifiers.
Nice! Another thorough video. I know how hard it can be to mount things like that on a wall. At least you were able to see the studs.😊
@@mdavidf ahahaha yeahhh I cheated for sure on that install!🤣
Ive got a Dreo Wall mount heater in my basement. That thing rocks.
I'm not the only one!?

The only iditarods my dogs are doing are the treks between their dog bowl and the sunlight 🤣🤣

I like that way better. Next time for sure! Thank you :)

If their heaters are as good as their fans, then I'm on board!

How do you know what smart plugs are safe to control a space heater?

Thank you sir.
Thank you sir!
Is the bigger heater going to heat up a single insulated garage to say 15C when it's -20C outside in Alberta?

Will theses replace furnaces soon
Ohhh I don't think we are quite there. Need one better technology for the heaters yet. It's just too much amperage still
Another deep dive video smashed out of the park, Automate Your Life doing what it does best, great work Bri
I appreciate that! Thanks sir!
It's just way too tall for no reason. I need one that looks like all other regular wall space heaters
Ok! I don't know that I've seen one yet. I'll keep my eyes open :)
might be smart but its ugly no way would i have that on my wall or anywhere where it could be seen
To each their own!
Ok mr old fashion , hope you keep rhe ducts and vents spotless

That's an incorrect statement. We saw one recall that affected one brand of heaters. We've had many brands on the channel.

Well a heat pump and this are two very different things. I wouldn't expect this to hear and cool a home

In my experience, people worry about every amount. I just like making sure they're making informed decisions!
