So I've done a pickling tan for my pelts and did the whole song and dance. Broke them to nice white leather and rubbed a mink oil in. But once the pelts fully dried they crisped up. Any advice?
On deer I do pull and stretch it before tumbling. I don’t have a video on it but there is a machine called a staking machine that works amazing on deer hides.
on your paddles drill 6 holes across them add 1/2 dowel rods protruding out about 1"glue in it will help break the hides made mine 25 years ago
