I just ordered myself one of these. I recently switched over to Patagonia after wearing exclusively North Face since the very early 2000s due to the fact that I've noticed the quality of North Face products going severely downhill in recent years. It's just not what it used to be. At first, I was a bit hesitant because of the high price tag of Patagonia products, but I now realize that it's WELL worth it. The quality of the gear that Patagonia produces is second to none. I now have the Torrentshell 3L rain jacket, the Nano Puff winter jacket, this Better Sweater on the way to me, as well as several Patagonia T-shirts, which have the most comfortable fit ever. I know people who have had the same Patagonia jacket for 10-15+ years and they are still going strong, so definitely well worth the investment, in my opinion!
I have this. I felt guilty for spending so much, but honestly it’s the best sweater I’ve ever owned. Quality is amazing and I wear it nearly every day. Bought it over a year ago and it still looks brand new. Tiny bit of shrinkage after first wash, but not highest noticeable. I’m going to buy the lightweight one too now.
Honestly if it’s the best sweater you ever had don’t feel guilty! It’s super nice, pricey but good quality! You can basically have it forever/super long time!
There's a reason the wealthy buy patagonia.. Because it's cheaper to buy a $200 jacket once than a $20 jacket 15 times. It's the same reason all my rich clients drive Teslas. Cause you can't get that kind of class and performance with tax deductions for anything close to it. If the wealthy are doing something, ask your self why... Cause they don't always just throw money away, they often are on to something that will give them a better product that will cost less in the long run.
when yours shrunk, did you notice the zipper warp a bit? Mine shrunk a small amount which is fine, but now I’m noticing a slight warp in the zipper due to the fabric shrinking. It’s not that noticeable but I can definitely tell.
I bought it cuz it looked good. But once i wore it and felt the air come thru the jacket. I immediately got rid of it. Not warm enough for me. But i think for most people they don’t mind the breeze coming thru.
Just ordered the better sweater full zip in stonewash color. I'm excited for it to show up at my door! Anything to recommend or suggest about taking care of these sweaters?
I hope you like it when it comes in!! Nothing much to recommend - I hang mine and wash it according to the tag but other than that easy to take care of - that’s just in my experience
NIce review. I just got mine today but i have to say i was a disapointed it was really windy today , i feel the wind passing throught the sleeves. Maybe i was expectig to not to feel cold but i had to put it back to return it. Perhaps i am not using it corrently. I would appreciate if you can comment about what whould i wear under this swether...i had a t shirt and a polo. Please let me know is this is proper way to use it. Thanks
Hi Alex! You were using it fine, I usually just wear a t shirt under this too but if it’s a really windy day I would’ve put a windbreaker or windproof jacket over this. So I would wear a t shirt -> better sweater -> windbreaker/windproof jacket I can understand if that sounds like alot but that’s what I personally would’ve worn. This is also just my opinion but hope it helps! Edit: Some windproof jackets have elastic on sleeve or Velcro so wind doesn’t come through. Besides windbreakers, I believe most rain jackets if not all are windproof.
I love my jacket but hate that it doesn’t have pockets like the full zip 😡. So annoying. My quarter zip I got for like $54. So I don’t mind wearing it around the house, but my full zip I didn’t. So I’m more inclined to just wear that in public.
i love wear piles is the best for the house winter no need to wear more than this and a shirt, i will buy one of this now i have one quechua thats comfortable i think no more hodies im not a kid anymore haha
Yeah this one is pretty warm and comfortable would only need this a shirt and you're good to go - Hoodies(pullovers) for me I like to wear at home, you can always find a use for things!
To be honest, I find it too warm. I got the lightweight better sweater, and even the lightweight is too thick and too warm for where I live (southern France). I can only wear it in the mornings or during harsh days on winter.
I got this one on the patagonia website but you can always use slickdeals as a reference along with also checking other sites like Rei, Backcountry, Steep & Cheap which I think backcountry owns and maybe even Nordstrom rack - Also I got mine early august - Hope that helps!
@@jovanivega Do you know your chest/shoulder measurements? Would be helpful in figuring out what size I am. Can't go in store to try it anymore due to rona
I’m 5’9 ish 165 and I got a medium - so I would say that you may land in the medium-small category but would probably advise to medium and see how you like it or just get both and return one - or try on in store if at all possible - Hope that helps!
I put mine in the washer settings cold then tumble dry low for dryer - tag also mentions similar with washing at 30c and tumble dry low - depends on your machine as well and hope that helps!
Mine didnt really shrink after the first wash - I washed how the label wanted me too, so I did cold water on washer then tumble dry low for dryer - no problems for me but this could also depend on your machines - hope that helps!
Torn between the better sweater and the synchilla snap. 🫤I like both equally, but the synchilla is more expensive; does that imply it’s better in some level?

This is how I feel, I have a hard time spending 100. Looks comfy though

I currently have the micro d pullover and got a better sweater and field shorts otw and haven't been more pleased with a company
How much more do you like the better sweater over the micro d?
How do you wash it?
did you ever get a lot of static shock or pilling ?
I'm 5'8 and the 1/4 size S was too short in length for me, barely covers my belt. I would get it again but the M.
How much do you weight

Can make video how to wash this ?

I like these also but agree about being almost too warm in many conditions.
Ahahahahhaahhaah good to know;))) I live in Canada so I should be fine I think!
Hey, awesome review, wanted to ask what website did you find that great deal and when was the deal. Thank you!!

@@jovanivega Awesome!! Yes this was definitely informative, thank you so much for the help.
What color do you have? It looks like it has some green to it or is that just the camera?
That might just be the camera - the color is Stonewash - STH - Grey
Hey fire review & how tall are you? confused with sizing
IxKiLLaKiDxI I’m 5”10ish! Also if it helps I’m 165lbs - jacket feels more of a fitted then a slim
@@jovanivega you took a L? or Medium size? thank's for the review :)

Get them from worn wear and use a sweater stone to get the pills off

It’s called the “Better Sweater”
Is that one nickel or stonewash?
It’s Stone - STH - just took a look at nickel online and that one looks nice too
