@@Greylobster im a crypto fan myself but that is a very astute point, i dig it! honestly there probably ARE instances of that happening somewhere but only in lil tiny amounts because the vitriolic hatred for crypto amongst the public has been so widespread that these banks don't want to come right out and say, "We support [insert crypto thing]" or even that they're looking into it.

Someone do the math.
What the Tiktoker meant was that if you put 290K as the downpayment for mortgage and put 450K in the crypto that would yield 19%, it would cover the 7K monthly mortgage payment. So, theoretically, it would pay the remaining balance after the downpayment over time (with the 19% yield from the crypto investment). BUT, any underwriter from any reputable mortgage company would not count earnings from crypto as a reliable monthly source of income. So, you would not be able to get the money from any reputable lender to pay for the remaining balance. Also, most people do not have 750K lying around for down-payments and investments unless they already make tons of money or got it as part of inheritance. Also also…. Anything that promises almost 20% yields is a Ponzi scheme or fraud. Lastly, if you take financial advice from Tiktok, you are likely to lose money any time.

Underwriter with about seven years experience and can confirm. Crypto not only is ineligible income, but usually ineligible as an asset.
He put 450k into a stablecoin called UST (a cryptocurrency that is pegged to $1, so 1 USD = 1 UST, 450k USD = 450k UST) and you can get 19% interest on that stablecoin. Unfortunately the stablecoin got depegged a couple weeks ago and is now only worth $0.02. So if anyone took his advice they would be down 98%. That 450k would now be worth only $9000.

I understood how he got the 50%. For the $1.45M price, you put down 20% which is $290k, then he put in $450k into Anchor protocol to get his free monthly money to pay for the mortgage. So technically, he only use $290k + $450k = $740k which is roughly 50% of the house money out of his pocket. Now where he's going to get the $740k to pay for down payment and free money generator in Anchor, I have no clue.

Recession criteria has already been met at end of last quarter. The Fed has said they will continue to raise rates to calm both the crazy housing and used car markets.

One of the last swan dives before the Great Depression was the influx of government surplus and bank loans to consumers who turned to the stock market as there were record gains. This led to riskier and riskier investments until the market collapsed taking billions. I believe we are back to that point and with apps like Robinhood, the barrier for investing has been removed. I think we are in for a much worse Depression than before. Add in the Russian War and China's lockdowns and later this year things are going to be very, very different.

Your subjective statement on NFTs around 9:10 is a good premise statement to then apply to facts of what's going on in the market, and thus a logical conclusion.
