    Thank you for simple techniques that I could do! Some other grass tutorials were a bit too technical for a beginner.

    Not all great artists are great teachers, but you're both! Thank you for sharing this information - it's been so helpful! I'd love to see a video on how different lighting situations affect colors in the environment (ex: how does a rainy day affect the color of distant grassy hillsides, tree foliage, etc.). Usually teachers show grasses and trees on a sunny day, so it would be great to see some different lighting situations!

    Why do you dip your brush so much in the water?

    • @lorrainewatry_watercolors
      @lorrainewatry_watercolors  3 роки тому +3

      Hi Mary, sometimes I dip my brush to clean it and if it is a staining color, it can take longer to get out. Other times, I'm am trying to think and it has become a habit. :>)

    Tip idea: how do you correct (& avoid in the first place) overlapping edges. I either get white gaps between sections, or try really hard to only paint within the border I'm painting but of course always screw up some. Then I have unsightly overlapping edges because of the transparency of the paints.
    Like when putting in a background around a still life. Or putting in a river/stream and the banks/land around each side.
    It doesn't seem to matter what part i complete first, i always get random messy edges caused by either the uneven random overlaps or missed white parts or both.
    One solution I've found is trying to bleed the edges of foreground/background together a bit, but if it's not done well it just adds to the overall messiness of the edges (& often it's not the right thing to use for a given border within the painting).
    Maybe it's just a matter length of experience with handling the brush & after enough practice those perfect edges just come natural?

      The Stephen Quiller palettes are available at most online art stores like Cheap Joes, Dick Blick, or Jerry's Artarama. It will depend on where you live, where you might be able to find it.
