Of the last 9 Hummer EVs to be listed on Cars & Bids, only 2 met their reserve. Demand for these isn't as high as the sellers think it is.
They waited too long.
The demand for EVs have dropped significantly (in North America, at least). There aren't very many people who want a Tesla Model 3 or a Chevy Bolt, not to talk of something like this or the F-150 Lightning.

They sold over 230,000 in the US alone last year, so that's far from true. Not to mention that they sold close to 400k Model Ys last year in the US as well
However you are partially correct about one thing: the demand for *NEW* EVs is slightly declining. People are buying used EVs more than their new counterparts (and the only two EVs this stat doesn't apply to is the Model 3 and Y). This is mostly due to how quickly they depreciate, regardless of brand (even the new Toyota bZ4X is depreciating insanely fast).
Demand for the Hummer on C&B is shrinking because of the high reserves these owners set. You can find them for much cheaper on the used market, and the dealer markups on new ones aren't as insane as they were 2 years ago
It will be interesting to see if Toyota was so wrong to not jump all in the EV arena as media outlets have reported. Toyota can pivot to the needs of any market globally, how fast can EV companies especially Tesla pivot to huge demand drops in EVs? Fisker, Lucid, and perhaps Rivians may soon be gone if the trend continues.

This thing deserves to exist if only for the comedy value of watching a storage unit hit 60mph in 3 seconds.
Marketing never changes. Back in the 80's stereo makers were using the same tactic to make their products sound more impressive. I remember getting an Aiwa mini system for Christmas that had 500 watts OF POWER which was actually measured in Peak Music Power Output value. The reality was it had about 10 not very healthy watts in RMS which was the industry standard measurement. Not a great story but anecdotal at least.

I already saw one on the road. It doesn't look too out of place compared to the Cybertruck, which I also saw recently. I original H1 definitely looks more ridiculous.

There are three of these floating around my area. Two white truck bodies and one suv body in that not-quite-od-green grayish color. I always wonder if the nature of being an absolute unit supersedes any negative thoughts about handling or infrastructure concerns
Things I keep in the rear seat back storage in my Silverado - flashlight, bug spray, sunscreen, gloves, and a towel. That's just on one side. Super handy.

Hi Alanis! I'm completely sold for this truck. Despite probably my favourite new thing is the Lucid SUV (Which like the Lucid Air is simply jawdropping), I really like the fact that it's easy to drive, comfortable and you can even drive across Mars without much trouble. Then of course I can bring you in the trunk to buy you lunch if necessary 😊. Much love as always from West Spain. Please let me know when you go full in your own channel, I won't miss it. ❤

The fact that any ol' numpty with poor driving skills but enough money can casually get behind the wheel of a 9k lb, 1k hp vehicle the size of a school bus and drive around the city with the same basic license as someone driving a Corolla isn't worrisome at all. -__-

i saw one of these for the first time a couple of weeks ago at a dealership parked next to the suv version and i feel like the truck version has much more presence just because of the bed for some reason

Personally I think the Hummer EV is too damn big and expensive, and I think it's part of a larger trend where new vehicles are getting farther outside of the reach of everyday working class Americans price-wise. Also: Alanis has the absolute best band/motorsport t-shirts game in the industry.

Interesting thing about this truck, after 100k miles, the energy use STILL is less than ALL similar-sized pickup truck for sale in the US. So yea, the most excessive EV is more efficient than all other work trucks for sale.

I've noticed that all the GMC Hummer EVs i've seen on UA-cam are white, including this one. It makes me wonder if the only colour you can get is white.

Why anyone need crab walk? It might be cool but is tgere a real use for it?
Positioning a trailer, squeezing around an obstacle, or squeezing into a tight spot.
Besides price (even if it comes down to a sane level in the used market), range is the biggest issue with this. I am not buying a truck for a commuter vehicle - I need it for towing and long trips, two things electrics do awfuly. The massive battery this needs takes longer to charge and you don't get the benefit of the Tesla network to charge it. Towing kills the range and that charging issue.
What would be SMART is to cut the battery size in half (reducing weight and providing a bit of space), and do a small range extender generator in the frunk that is just a generator with no connection to the drivetrain. A small diesel generator set to run a peak efficiency at a single RPM, allowing you to overcome the range issue. Becuase it would be small, going up a hill it would not be able to keep up the charge, but would catch up on stop/go traffic, downhill, and just flat land crusing. I think eventually car manufacturers will figure out this is how you make electric work in trucks - a tiny, fuel efficent engine that could never meet the needs of the truck on its own, but perfect for just charging.
That's what Ram is coming out with. EV range of 180 miles or so and a 3.6L V6 range extender that brings the range to 700 miles.

I really disliked Hummers but the EV isn't too bad. At least it's impressive! Which the old Hummer's, from what I hear, were not particularly suitable for anything at all. It's bigger than most English roads so I doubt I'll see many in my area. Thanks I enjoy your reviews.
It's whether you need one of these isn't it? Once upon a time land people and farmers had such vehicles because their work and situation warranted their use - nowadays isn't it just showing off with most people? - when I see an everyday person in such a huge thing I just think: "You dick!" especially if it is still fuel reliant.

It's ugly, t looks nothing like a hummer! If anything, I would say it look just like the new Bronco. You can never beat that look that the original hummer has. Even when they brought out the H1, it still couldn't stand up to the rough and tough look that you get from a Humvee. The H1 isn't bad, if I had to choose one out of all the remakes, I would pick that one. This new one just looks like a truck that you drive to home depot to pick up some wood, or snow plow the driveway. The original Humvee looks like it' ready for action, tough exterior, with a matching tough interior. It doesn't have all those bells and whistles, but it doesn't need them... It can stand on it's own.

This is no Rivian R1T review, but it does at least have one Alanis of storage.
Regarding regenerative braking-I was taught to drive (on an automatic 2001 Camry) with one (right) foot, switching between throttle and brake. That's one of the reasons (along with fuel economy) why I taught myself to be good at coasting, so I could rest my foot (I don't use my left foot at all). As somebody who prides themselves on their coasting ability, I think that I would prefer it to one-pedal driving. When you apply the brake in non-one-pedal mode, does it engage the regenerative system as a first choice (how it works in the 2018 Camry Hybrid)? Also, which is more efficient (given my coasting habits), one-pedal, or coasting?
Side note-that is not the best outfit-you are very beautiful, but somehow that outfit makes you look heavier at the stomach and is unflattering on your legs. How it manages to do that is beyond me. That really doesn't make sense.
“It’s a good truck” proceeds to not use it as a truck AT ALL. Not one thing put in the bed 😂
