    Are you able to get 120hz refresh rate while using MacBook through the USB C to display cable?

    Absolutely baffled you only have 37 subscribers. This video is edited well, entertaining, very professional & tbh if I didn’t go to sub I would never have known you didn’t have a tens of thousands of subs. Glad to be the 38th. Great job man! Can’t wait to see where you go from here

      I wouldn’t dare to say I’m even remotely close to the level @Spawnpoiint is at since he’s such an inspiration for me, but that really means a lot!
      Tell you what, should we ever get to 100k subs (which is quite a bit far fetched right now, but I of course would love for it to happen one day) I promise I’ll come back to this comment! ❤️

    Why did you connect your Macbook to the display port of the monitor and not the USB-C port? Doesn't it's usb-c port support DP 1.4?

    • @alexgreyy
      @alexgreyy  3 місяці тому +1

      Because that's the only way I could get 120hz :)

    How did you connect Macbook with Windows pc? I have a pc and macbook and planning to use external monitor. Are you getting 120hz ?

    • @alexgreyy
      @alexgreyy  5 місяців тому

      Windows and Mac aren’t connected to each other if that helps. They are just wired separately to the same monitor but to different ports. I connected my MacBook to the DP port via a USB-C to DP cable so I could get the full 120hz.
      My PC is connected via a HDMI 2.1 cable and I get the full hertz my PC is capable of there as well.

    So how did you connect the Mac, PlayStation, and PC to one monitor again? KVM switch? Software? But thanks for the desk explanation.

    • @alexgreyy
      @alexgreyy  7 місяців тому

      MacBook goes to the DP-port via a USB-C to DP cable. PS & PC both via HDMI cables to the respective HDMI 2.1 ports on the monitor. If I want to switch to any device, I just have to switch to that respective input on the monitor.
      Technically I could've also made use of the KVM switch for my peripherals but since they connect via Bluetooth they switch to whatever device I'm using at the moment flawlessly anyway.
      Hope that clears everything up for you!

      Oh, a plethora of games. Sometimes I stream Football Manager or like to pull up a Pokemon game but most of the time I let the chat decide. Last time around we played some Tony Hawk or even Ghost of Tsushima. I even did Apex as requested but turns out I'm quite shite at shooters lol

    Ok I have a silly question - what do you use the key light for if your setup doesn't include a cam? or how to you set up streamng? Thanks :)

    • @alexgreyy
      @alexgreyy  4 місяці тому +1

      That’s not a silly question at all!
      I predominantly use my phone as my camera when sitting at my desk, which I also used to film this video. I clamp it onto the key light with a magic arm to get a nice angle. My iPhone 15 Pro has that good a camera that I sold my old mirrorless for it, as it didn’t get used very much ever since the iPhone 14 Pro came out, because of sheer convenience. I might get a better one in the future though, as I sometimes miss that authentic feeling, when shooting photo or video. For social media or general use where footage gets heavily compressed anyway it absolutely wouldn’t be necessary though.
      And on a side note, whenever I want to get a video shot of anything, I just prop it up on my desk and always have a soft diffused light that I can easily adjust the parameters of always ready to go, without having to move anything. :)

    2:23 OMG!!!!!! Why didn't I see this video 2 weeks ago! No matter how I search Amazon I could NOT find a KVM monitor with PIP/PBP. NOW THIS, and so simple I found it on Amazon! What I had to do was get a KVM switch, WHICH DOESN'T EVEN DO PIP/PBP, but a button to switch between 2 devices and share resources.

      Sure thing mate! Thank you so much, really means a lot! So, in short I've been doing video editing client work (as well as the occasional video shooting) fairly regularly since 2019, because it seemed to be a great skill to learn at the time and to have at one's disposal. But recently I got a bit more ambitious and wanted to do my own thing and build something. Started a gaming channel but wasn't as passionate about it so I practically stopped after 3 videos. Don't really know that much about UA-cam as a platform though (I primarily edit(ed) commercials and a few courses to train new employees, that sort of thing) So, although I technically know how to edit various kinds of videos, this style is also completely new to me and I find it super exciting and I've been having so much fun doing it. It just felt right, which means I found something I want to stick to and build up to hopefully something great.
      (Thank you for coming to my TED Talk lol)

    • @alexgreyy
      @alexgreyy  10 місяців тому +1

      Actually had an Ikea tabletop before so I can really say that this one holds up very well in comparison (apart from scratching easier due to the colour) but it's pretty much the same material (some wood composite), just like the electronics side better on this desk :)

    Bro why not Samsung neo g7 and how is the ips glow in the g32u and how does it perform at dark room in back background content.

    • @alexgreyy
      @alexgreyy  11 місяців тому +1

      Well I'm not the biggest fan of the G7's design, nor was I looking for a monitor whose sole purpose would be to be gamed on. I wanted solid colours (so the G7's reviews were a no-go for me), a high enough refresh rate but since I'm not really an FPS type of game gamer everything over 144hz is basically useless to me, a nice design that doesn't scream "gamery" at first sight and preferably not spend a fortune on it. It's been great for me so far, no backlight bleeding and the colours are surprisingly rich. Not OLED level of course, but nice enough for an IPS display.
