After the year you've had, I wouldn't use the word "failed." You may not have accomplished your intended goals, but your endurance and perseverance allowed you to accomplish so many more life goals than you had imagined 🥰
I second that! You've had a roller coaster of a year. You haven't failed. You did what you had to and now it's time to celebrate how far you've come in spite of the tribulations of 2021.
I told someone how my parents always know which buttons to push, and she had the best response. “Of course they do, they are the ones who installed them.” You’ve done an amazing job this year. Your Dad would be very proud.

You didn't fail, you still accomplished a lot and even if you didn't hit 1 million, or get 10k UA-cam subscribers, you still increased your income and amount of followers. You still lost some of the weight you gained. This is amazing considering all that you went through last year. So good for you!

I have an article in my next newsletter about focusing on what I did accomplish in 2021. You made 6 figures…that’s absolutely amazing! You added 800+ more subscribers than what you had before. You published 8 books. Girl…you rock! 💕

You dealt with so much this year, I never would have considered what you did/didn't do a failure. Especially since you lost your dad. I'm sorry for your loss. The fact that you didn't let your grieve bring you down and you still managed to get everything you did do done is amazing. I'm so proud of you.
I love how during the entire video, you'd pause and make some comments and then when you pressed play, past you would say almost exactly the same thing. I found it highly amusing in the best of ways. I can't wait to see what all you accomplish in 2022.

Thank you for sharing your failures as well as your successes. It's very encouraging for anyone, like me, who did not make all of their goals last year. We are moving forward into 2022 and we got this! If you do start work on that novel that you want to traditionally publish, I would very much like to see the process of planning, writing, beta reading, querying, etc., whatever you wanted to share.

As you said, past Courtney had no idea what was to come. 🤗 Thank you for posting this! Lofty goals are great to have even if we fall a little short, so I appreciate the reminder as I set some possibly ridiculous publishing goals for next year. But yeah, let's be real: You still knocked it out of the freaking park (objectively), so kudos!
I recently came across a quote by Maya Angelou: "Success is liking yourself, liking what you do and liking how you do it." I think I'm going make that my mantra for 2022, to keep me grounded if and when life gets in the way. As long as those three needs are fulfilled, we're probably in a good spot. 😺Have a Happy New Year!

I love every part of you Courtney and I'm so happy to watch you flourish in the last few weeks! You look so much brighter and ready to kick some butt. I can't imagine how you're able to still function so soon after losing your dad, but just know that we will always be here, ready to welcome you back with open arms if you ever need to step away. I discovered your videos in 2021, and I gotta say, they've improved my crazy year. I know you want to get to 10,000 subscribers in a certain amount of time, but you made at least one new subscriber this year, and it made a huge difference to me! I love your videos, and the live stream write-with-me videos have helped move my 5 year writing project forward. You do so much, Courtney. I'm continually impressed with what you accomplish in life and in your career. We're all a WIP!

I also didn't make most (any) of my goals for 2021, there's been a real learning curve of 'what I want' vs 'what is realistic' while still trying to make them aspirational.
I think it's kind of funny you talk about not meeting any of your goals but it sounds like you did achieve a major one--publishing eight Kennedy Fox books! In some ways it's easy to overlook "expected" goals but you still worked your ass off for it! Here's to a better 2022

I am really surprised that you didn't translate your books into Spanish. The Latina market is HUGE and highly active. With Italian, your sales are limited to Italy (not bad, BTW). With German, it is a smaller market, but MUCH more active (Germans buy more books per capita than any other nationality). But with Spanish, you gain Spain, Mexico, most of South America, and a significant minority in America. There are about 472 million Spanish speakers, but only 65 million Italian speakers. I strongly suggest you consider Spanish translations!
Just want to say that you are a badass. You had a shit year but you still made deadline, and I think you and Brooke (other Brooke haha) make an awesome team to still accomplish all of what you did during this shit time. My writing goals didn't quite happen this year either--so I feel ya! Also I did publish my first book, self-published and well...um...I need to find ways to promote it that work--any tips? And well, life is a roller coaster. I've got 3 kids, Covid has made things massively suck (i haven't caught it yet, nor have my kids but any day now, one of my kids is likely to bring it home with them and well..we'll deal with it when it does. All I can say is..just say "Okay I set some goals, I didn't meet them..but this is a new year and it'll be a good year, even if I don't hit my goals!" It's nice to have goals, but it's hard to meet all of them. But, at the same time, you're doing a great job in that you and your partner have a busines that's doing WELL--despite Covid, despite stuff that's going on, you guys are rockin' it! Chin up, it's a new year, and dont' be hard or down on yourself--2021 was hard I think on everyone! Hugs! And well, I subscribed so you're one subscriber closer to your goal;) Happy New Year and hope you keep rockin it in the New Year;)
