  • Here I sit with covid and feeling like s..t, but am determined to battle on and upload a song from one of my favourite Hammer girls of whom I once had the great pleasure of meeting some years back. An early effort of Munro's was a 45 single release by Columbia, "Tar and Cement", backed with "The Sporting Life". The musicians who played on the recording included Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, and Ginger Baker.
During the 1970s, Munro recorded a number of singles with her husband Judd Hamilton. Aside from her singing, modeling and acting career she presents Talking Pictures exclusive series The Cellar Club. In the series, Caroline introduces celebrated and obscure horror films from her Cellar Club and gives her personal, insider perspective. Gotta love this gorgeous lady.

The year that I was born, 1966, Adriano Celentano released this very song with italian lyrics, titled as you say Il Ragazzo della via Gluck. Googling this song I found out it's been released by Munro in 1967. Are you telling me that for this very once we italians didn't steal a foreign success as we always do?
The other funny thing is that I believed I heard this name before, so I found out that not only Caroline Munro was in the Dr. Phibes franchise with Vincent Price and in a lot of Hammer Horror movies, she also was in The Golden Voyage of Simbad with Tom Baker, she was in an episode of the New Avengers and also worked with Big Finish in a Doctor Who story in 2003.

I love this song! The orchestral backing by the great (and much under-rated) Mark Wirtz is superb!
I've been feeling under the weather for a while now and it seems to have got worse this week. You leave me wondering.......
I bet you loved Caroline in her 'Halloween Horns'???

When I get bugs they last for weeks.
I'm away in Glasgow next week. Train strike the day I leave. Things were better in the 70s!!

I'm hoping to get a beer or two too - but matey wants to drink at the hotel and I doubt I'll find one there! I feel like a good 25 year malt right now but they never do you any good. No idea when I'll arrive. I mean I've travelled twice by train a month ago to two concerts and both times a train was cancelled and both were non-strike days so......🤣

This one seems to keep coming and going, one minute you feel on the mend, then next day your back to square one? Really weird! Bit like our government :)😁
