I find it interesting the Master Sol immediately rejected when Jecki started to say maybe Mae is alive, but immediately believed Osha when she said it. I'm guessing he tried to not get as close to his students after what happened with her, but still can't distance himself from her
So funny how Vanessa got it right away i was so blindsided by that obvious reveal and also thought she was either lying or had a split personality, nice reaction to an amzing show
'Nimble little minx, ain't she?"😅 Carrie-Ann Moss might show up in flashbacks. I'm counting on that. And...it's refreshing to watch reactors who appreciate the unfolding of a story.

I think the Four knew all along. They hid Mae away, because taking twins to the Temple and training both of them would be a "problem" in some way. The Master found her and trained her.
Gotta say I'm digging the Acolyte! Different but same 😉 The Jedi with the funky hairdo and Gold lightsaber seems cool. His hair kinda reminds me of miles morales from the new spiderman games.
I appreciate when Disney tells us what planet we on! In the Galaxy FAR FAR AWAY, there are SO MANY planets and systems.....i wish they did that ALL the time 🔥✌️
@LatetoteParty, 19:05 I don't know, I think Carrie-Anne Moss is still with us. I couldn't help but hear her voice through the mask of the Sith/Acolyte at the end of the episode.
They are blinded. Yes, they are, good call Vanessa. Maybe not completely, but since we're a hundred years before the empire, the Sith grand plan nears completion. The Jedi were more worried about their political enemies than if she was guilty or not.
i like how this continues the twin motif in SW and this time written from the start. detective story narrative with force users and some offbeat elements is pretty much the live action series ive been waiting for since "grounded" / no mysticism / military stuff like andor doesnt do much for me.
6:29 well done. I was guessing twin or split personality at first. Enjoyed the first two episodes. Lots of good fight scenes. Enjoyed your reaction as usual.

I was hoping when she was at the edge and turned around and said, " I didn't do it"....Master Sol would have said" I dont care," like Tommy Lee Jones. But I know it wouldn't have fit in the narrative
Hello guys👋🏻. That was just like in the Fugitive, I didn’t kill my wife😆. I think is actually twins. It reminds me of something similar in Star Trek Picard.
This first episode has me interested. I like the variety of alien characters. The whole twin thing seems cliché but I’ll give it time to play out. Great job as always Rob and Vanessa! I’m here for the series!
Look at you two NOT being late to the party! I was hoping you would do a live stream. I'd be in should you ever do. Oh, and what a great first episode!
@kevingt7777 last time we saw a live action yellow Saber was the ending to Ep.9 Besides that, in animation, we've seen it with Temple Gaurds during the Barris arc. And Ventress having one in Bad Batch.
The dark side concept seems the same. Mae is used to do the dirty work thinking the Jedi are to blame for all the bad that's happened to her. The question is are they?
Plus i would like too se more starwars humor not much in this so far to give me a good chuckle plus Kyle katarn said that yoda isn't in this season he went to the premiere and met kk and she told him that😢
@@LatetotheParty It just seemed weird that the class was nearly all girls. Maybe he primarily taught girls. We know he had at least two. female padawans...
I absolutely adore this series so far. The action, the mystery, the cinematography and sets and costumes and expanding the lore and and and…it’s all so damn good. Thanks for being quick out the gate!
@@drumnbassdan Interesting. I initially thought your handle was “dumbassdan” and honestly, that would have been more appropriate. I’m sorry that your love of mayonnaise-colored men is keeping you from enjoying really good sci fi entertainment. But you know you’re free to just not watch, right? Like, you don’t *have* to keep embarrassing yourself this way. No one is making you.
You know, when you focus on the music, transition wipes and an actor who had to learn to speak English as positive aspects of the show, it says quite a lot. I've enjoyed many of your reactions in the past and perhaps it's too early to be critical right now, but I hope you provide a good balance in your reaction and assessment in the weeks ahead, both light and dark.
I've said this across multiple reaction videos, too, but this is my general issue so far though it's not limited just to this series which, let's be fair, is only 2 episodes deep. It feels like we're getting yet another "Jedi having the wool pulled over their eyes story" even though this is supposedly peak Jedi era. It's yet another example of the "Jedi aren't the mythical heroes" narrative. At this point, did the 'mythical Jedi' portrayed and talked of in the OT and decades since in Legends actually exist or is the narrative going to now be that they never existed or that you have to go even further back in the narrative/timeline to find them? If the Jedi are this easily killed - one is distracted to death even as she easily fought off Mae while protecting all the bar patrons throughout until the story needed her to die to a 3in blade even as Maul, Kylo, Grand Inquisitor and Reva have all survived lightsaber skewerings and the other is talked into offing himself - then the Order should have seen a constant death rate in the Republic through the centuries. The Jedi do feel inept/incompetent and this narrative of the Jedi being arrogant/prideful/sketchy is kinda offputting to me even as arrogance and pride were supposed to be Sith failings (oh, the Jedi are, too! Expectation subverted! Ugh...).
@@Vulcanerd You make some good points here, I'd like to add a few thoughts. We have to remember that the average citizen is pretty much guaranteed to never interact with a Jedi in their life, and stories about superpowered space wizards would fly far and wide, and morph over time because of that. The Jedi are in their peak era at this time, but they are also at their peak level of arrogance. I believe that the main reveal of the show will be that the Jedi covered up the possible return of the Sith for political gain, which would further drive the theme that they were at fault for their downfall. Obviously, I'm just inferring from my own viewing for this part, but I believe that Indara saw what would happen in the bar and chose to save the patron anyway. It's highlighted in Kenobi that this is the best way to kill a Jedi and that their main "weakness" is that they care. Definitely not confirmed, but that's what I thought based on her expressions and actions. As for Maul, Kylo, etc, they were all powerful and very, very angry dark-side users who were able to continue through pure rage, while Indara is a Jedi who got a dagger in the heart. Another good example would be Darth Sion, who held his body together through the force to stay alive in exchange for eternal agony. One more thing to remember regarding your final point is that the jedi being arrogant and prideful has always been the main catalyst for their downfall, as expressed by Yoda in episode 2 and Luke in episode 8, this isn't exactly a subversion of expectations. I hope this didn't come off as trying to correct you lmk your thoughts
@@IrrelevantPerson Everything you say is definitely plausible. And I even like your theory that the Jedi cover up the possible return b/c they are afraid of the political fallout or to take advantage of it. As far as Indara's concerned, ehh, I still think she went down way to easily. Especially after she's handling Mae and helping the bar patrons with ease. A force trained warrior who's already made her intentions to kill you clear... is feet away from you and has used patrons to her advantage and you can't force push her as you stop the dagger towards the bartender or shield yourself or force hold her or anything at all?? Like I said before, if that's all it takes, they would be having way higher casualty rates among Jedi. If all it takes is someone with a blaster to shoot at a bystander while shooting at the Jedi simultaneously. I can see a single bounty hunter or whatever just mowing down Jedi so long as they have bystanders to shoot and two blasters. As for the pride and arrogance angle, maybe. But, pride and arrogance has always been the hallmark and supposed weakness of the Sith. Luke even mentions this about Sidious to his face (yes, he technically says it's his overconfidence, but I see it as arrogance/pride adjacent) in RotJ. I always though that the Jedi, in their heyday (High Republic era and before, I guess), at least, were humble servants of the Republic illuminating the galaxy with their wisdom, compassion and justice. But, since the PT, it feels like they've really leaned into the Jedi are these stoic, callous, arrogant elitists? Which... I guess? But, I've always felt the Jedi, at their peak, were paragons of virtue. It feels like, since the OT, they've slowly backed away from the original vision(tm) for maybe one of two reasons. First, it's too hard to write virtuous, forthright characters who are pretty nearly flawless, but not perfect. At best, people may see them as boring, at worst, they will come across as super pretentious and sanctimonious. Second, especially now, we like our characters to be flawed, even broken. We're in a age where we love dark and gritty and morally compromised or 'dark' characters. It's why we prefer Batman over Superman. It's why GOT and WD were super popular at least early on. It's why people liked the Daredevil series as well as Punisher. It's why people are enjoying shows like The Boys and HotD. And I wholeheartedly admit I love me my edgelord, angsty emo shows, but... I would also love to see the opposite. And, ok, so what if it's hard to write for near perfect characters who are full of wisdom, intelligence and compassion. That's what good writing should be able to do. Make compelling stories even in a world or people that seem idyllic b/c the world isn't perfect even if it seems that way or is close. It's also the reason why I like TOS and TNG. They were able to write compelling stories and characters even as human and galactic societies (or at least the Federation) were near utopian. Maybe it just takes more work or is harder, but that shouldn't be an excuse not to do it. It's almost cowardly or lazier to fall back on broken characters/world b/c it's easier. Anyway, really appreciate your friendly tone and I see a lot/all of the points you're making and just wanted to share some more of mine. Hope that clarifies some stuff, too.
What did you think of the badly made scenes? Like Trinity being killed by a little knife stab too easily? Jedi are not weak. What about the fire in space? That's impossible. And what about why she can't use the force to get Pip? What about Lizard Lady's bad acting?
Its definitely not made for star wars fans, they should have made this into an original series for the "modern" audience. All the ground work lucas laid in setting the good vs evil and then this makes it so good and evil doesnt exisit.... For the first 2 episodes i give a 3/10
Fair enough to anybody that enjoys this show, each to their own but it’s not off to a great start at all. It’s new characters but the main Jedi is the only interesting one and forcing yet another female lead just isn’t working out. Andor is the best and worst thing to happen to Star Wars lately because nothing compares.
