So where is the “one year review”? All you did is mantion some specs we allready knew from 1.5 years. How did you use this camera this year? Where are the samples?
Thanks for the video! Im looking to buy my first camera. Looking for a small camera for street and landscape photography with some video. I narrowed it down to the R8, the XM-5 and the S9
Thanks for watching :) I think those are all great options. Personally I’d go for the r8 for the fact that the ergonomics will be better and it has a view finder! I’d also definitely recommend going to a store and physically holding them!
I think if I solely shot photos, I’d still shoot on an dslr. Optical view finders are superior to EVF in my opinion. But for hybrid shooting mirrorless is the way to go :)
@kaipbowe if you need extra juice due to work demand - grip is a solution. It's like... you definitely using gimbal, additional source of light, microphone to get better quality audio - why not complaining about this as well? When it comes to IBIS this system does produce distortion / affects quality on the video and most of the people who wants to achieve best possible quality are not using it anyway... it is not a "must" in my opinion However, hanging around and taking some pictures as a hobby will do with few spare batteries in your pocket. I mean... the battery case isn't a problem taking to consideration how cheap, small, light 3rd party batteries are. For some (like myself) it is nothing new, flying drones so always bringing more batteries to extend work time in the field. It is just new / another habit which will allow you to enjoy cameras size at the end. Would you agree?
@Szot-Art I do use extra batteries :) I tend not to use extra light and my mic setup is very minimal. I agree, ibis is not a must. I hadn't used it for a year and then got the r6ii and realised it was a nice luxury to have. yes, for a hike or travelling etc, taking a few batteries is easy and takes up next to no space. not an issue.
Why does the R8 exist when the a6700 exists 🫠
Why does Sony exist when canon exists 🫠
@kaipbowe to steal your money for no added benefit 🤣🤣
I think we’re willingly hand it over 🥲 but that makes it sound better 😂😂
A6700 = APS-C 🤓☝️

the samples are at the beginning of the video and the video is my review. some more samples would have benefited the video yes, but I didn't add any.
Why the R6 II misses focus every time you take the R8 up close? I thought you were filming with a Panasonic Lumix contrast detected camera 😂
My camera is always set to detect people 😭😭 I should probably set a focus point instead. Thanks for pointing that out though 😂😂

I’m considering purchasing one how is the experience if I do to use my ef style lenses with the adapter on such a small camera for a while?
Flawless! The adapter almost makes the lenses faster with auto focus!
@ good to hear because I bought one last night.
Awesome! You’ll love it!
very interesting and insightful …. slayed
Thanks dog. Well done for sitting through camera nerd waffle!
Got 3 dislikes though which in a weird way I appreciate more than the likes.
@@kaipbowe LOL what could possibly have impassioned them so much as to dislike it ...
Mirrorless in 10 year's maybe.
Id be happy enough with a DSLR - photography.

I use R8 with battery grip 🎉
I have considered a battery grip! But, the joy of the r8 for me is the size :) which grip did you go for?
