This is amazing. As a newbie with everything fishing related, you're a really great resource for people like me who are starting out. Hopefully we can fish together someday! Tight Lines!
Nice day out there! I like bass a lot both for the fight and they're good eating. Nice to see you on the surf, although that boat you got is sweet and will offer more opportunities to latch onto the big ones. But the thing I love about the surf is you just go out and start fishing and when you're done, you're done. Oh, and "like a corbina" at the end there made me smile with anticipation for summer!
A big piece of me will always be with the surf! I feel like there is something mystical/magical about working a stretch of sand, figuring something out (or at least imagining it), and having it pay off. And yes, I truly miss corbina fishing, I am SO EAGER to get the season started. They're already starting to fill in the skinny and hopefully its all uphill from here with the warming water!
great content once again thanks for sharing , @ 4:12 #tips , breaking down your rig and giving his pointers out on the sand surf fishing , so helpful... from what you mentioned it sounds like it's been pretty slow out on the surf , but hope to see you out on the surface again for more pointers , and helpful tips , and I really appreciate you , breaking down your rig to us...see you on the next one .....
Hey thank you so much for your encouragement, I really appreciate it! To be honest, I haven't been on the sand as much as I'd like as I've been busy gearing up my new inflatable but yes, it has been on the slower side for me the past few months. But that's just me. Doesn't mean that its been slow for everyone. I'm looking forward to getting out there a lot more in the coming weeks as the water is on a nice warming trend and the bait and predators should be coming in close!
Nice one ~! Good tutorial 👍 Good to see you on the surf. Look happy 😃 I haven’t got no chance to go out yet I miss the surf, waves Thanks for sharing 🙏👍😊
Hi Tony, sorry I haven't been in touch to set our time together, to be honest, I've barely been out there myself. Thank you so much for the comment, I watched your video last night (sorry for no comment).....I LOVE fishing that pond...I used to fish it regularly but I got kicked out like 3 times in a row so I stopped lol!
@@BenjieKimFishing No worries Benjie :) I know you are so busy these days. It was me who couldn't make the promise. I believe you know DonDon he got a permit of the community, so I could do it. I believe we are going to meet someday soon on a beach :)
@@CastNreeL82 I’ve just been occupied with my boat and trying not to drown 🤣 Don don has a permit?!!! Ahhhhh!!!! But anyways, yes let’s get together soon. I have plans to fish the surf this Friday with a friend but maybe next week?? Water is warming nicely so hopefully things will turn on soon!!

Hey Benjie can you mark where you’re casting on your still shots. Not sure where exactly the hole is located. Also I like your backpack. I tried your link but seems like they’re no longer available? As always great content.
Hi Ben, awww man bummer about the backpack...someone else recently mentioned that too. Hopefully they'll restock it soon. In regards to the hole, the area right past where the rollers were crashing was a drop off. It was more of a medium size trough that ran about 30-40 yards (north to south). So for me, once I identified the drop off, I fan casted the entire trough until I got a bite. All my fish came from the same casting location, which means there was something there (bait/current/slightly deeper) that made the structure more ideal for fish to be holding.
Its part of the Halibut Surf Derby kit, they may still be available for order on crystalwaterstackle.com. If not, you can find them in some local shops. Sav On Tackle in Santa Fe Springs had them last time I was in there. I'd call before going in tho.
Ahhhh Al, thank you for revealing yourself!! I was wondering what your name was but I didn't ask as I didn't know if you preferred the anonymity. Thank you always for your support!!
@@zygardiousyt9981 weedless heads are a good option but another one that can be even better is the Texas rig with an ewg hook. You can fish it truly weedless and much easier for preventing snags.
Awesome man! Every day, every tide, every beach has its unique intricacies. I've spent a lot of time watching videos and stuff but imo the most effective teacher is time on the water. There's just some stuff that can't be taught without the actual experience of hours on the sand.
I am on my 6th trip learning to fish. All I got so far was a gash on the arm from the jetty rocks

Have you surf fished in Long Beach, CA?
Hi Kevin, I’ve spent many hours pounding the sand in LB. not so much the past couple years but I know the area fairly well.
Awesome vid!
Thank you so much Andrew!!

I appreciate that bro, thanks for your willingness to watch a surf fishing video (I think you found my channel with a trout vid)!
i sure did!
How do we join your shore fishing expedition?
Good on you! If you're not using them, Let 'em go!
Hey Benjie I was wondering where you got your weedless jighesd for swimbaits, I’ve been searching every local walmart near me.
Check out warbaits
I'd suggest checking out your local tackle shop. I do prefer 1/2 oz Warbaits heads as A R mentioned in this comment but any head will do fine.

Just got my inflatable boat too. 11 foot with a 9.9 tohatsu.. where you get your boat registration? Did you get the sticker the same day?
I did mine at AAA and yes, I got the stickers on the spot!
Been looking for the electric grunion but not luck....like that color
Oh man, that's a bummer. I always bust out the EG in springtime when the grunion start running. Hopefully there'll be stock replenished soon.
Alex Morataya, get a Calissa. I've fished both and there's no noticeable difference. Caught a wide variety of fish on both, and it's $6 less that LC.
I NEED to get out there!!!! It's calling me! Enough of my jibber jabber..😄
