As a bit of knowledge for everyone else You can get some real great trainers for less then 100 when on sale (tho full retail is up to 150) My go to brands are Saucony, Brooks, and HOKA.

Also the apl concept 1 shoes were banned from the nba for also giving too much of an advantage. Shoes do make a lot of difference
The 'cheap' running shoes are Slazenger who don't make running shoes. They make good tennis shoes but otherwise only make casual trainers. It's like comparing the waterproofness of a rain coat Vs a normal jacket.

The flexibility test is flaud. Running shoes are not ever supposed to be that flexible because in reality we dont need them to be. Also road racing shoes which are carbon plated are meant to be extremely stiff so it helps the runner go faster. This works because the stiffness creates leverage.
