You seem to be able to gain and maintain speed pretty well when pumping, does this come with a lot of practice to get very efficient pumps? I am riding a dervish sama and it might not be the best board to pump on but its better than my previous setup.
Yeah there's a lot of subtlety in pump technique. Small shifts in the core / midsection weight are all you really need. Keeping speed above 10mph, it's much easier to sustain a pump than trying to generate speed pumping slower than that. Dervishes have good pop!
Robert Thomson Hey Rob- what I find is its a whole different set of muscles for drop vs. topmount, so for me one doesn't feel easier than the other, but each takes a while to train up to. I really dig how this setup adds energy return and it tackles hills (up AND down) nicely!
Nice one James! I have held off on getting a G|Bomb for a while, but I am definitely gettting one now, with the Torsion Tail :-D. Nice editing, and the Burke looks like a fun trail.
Odin Mackay Thanks Odin! The TTail is wicked fun in how well it works, the propulsion! The vids a little repetitive but I'm trying to capture the 'action' of the two arms. Cheers
pavedwave Your vid looks great and gives a good feel of how the TTail works. I don't mind the repetition, as it saves me replaying the vid a bunch ;-) Is your front bracket the Standard Drop or Deep Drop? And is the front truck a DT Poppy? How do you find the Poppy compared to a Bennett or Vite?
Odin Mackay It's a deep drop DT poppy in front- The turn on the DT feels more linear, doesn't have that Bennett like surfy "dive", but it boils down to preference. I like it, but really hoping Dan will bring that Bennett-like DT precision truck project back to the surface :)
pavedwave I'm riding a G|Bomb Bamboo board with Don't Trip Poppys, front and rear. My previous board was a Mermaid with Bennett 5.0 front and Seismic rear. I miss the bounce back of the Seismic springs. Do you think the Torsion Tail has a similar effect? I am very interested in trading my rather passive rear Poppy with an active component that will contribute to higher-level board/human synergy. By the way, thank you for all your contributions to this sport. I got into this five years ago at age 50 and it has become one of my passions, spending countless hours on the West Side Highway bike path in NYC A niche sport like this one needs people like you, who bring enthusiasm and truth to what this is and is not, which encourage people to take a dive instead of dismissing something that can, at least for me, be life-changing.

Did you got any problems with material weakening because of all the movement in the bars?
Cool. Looks like that tail has no turn to it at all, pure lean.
It looks like the platform is very low too, which should make pushing up hills easier than on a normal dedicated topmount pumper?

What tt are you using steel or aerospace
These are aluminum in the vid- now I'm on steel!
But does it squeak?
Not yet but if it does 99% of the time it's pivot cups!

+Yet Ming Ngai Amen, brother!
Why did you choose the deep drop bracket over the super duper fork???
Mostly because I like the option of throwing on 97mm wheels and that seemed to give the max drop.
