I know.. after watching a heap of scrap post sites it's opened up my eye how much good stuff people through away.. I had a garage sale & what was left I gave away to Vinnies...
Why don't you take the metal folding chairs when you see them? They are flat and won't take up excessive room, the weight adds up quick with them and it would help pay for your fuel, I'm just wondering.
First of all in the first 2 minutes, if someone said, drive across town to pick up a $100 bill, who wouldn’t?! All that thick cable is like picking up 10,000 copper pennies! Copper is copper! Money is money! Nice 👍
Yeah, summer time day's are longer and I have more time, but now in winter it gets dark too quick, going as fast as I can, making copper bars is one thing I love to do
I’m in Canada so scrapping is pretty hard to do. I was wondering where to start looking and if there’s anything to look out for. Thanks again and keep scrapping!
You can start with the dumpster diving at the small business plazas and the industrial areas at night but be aware that this is illegal. You can also try to handle out the colourful flyers to the business property managers and the apartment buildings superintendents. And the next step would be to try to pass the flyers to businesses themselves and libraries and schools like Ben does. Watch his business pick up videos, he explains it there.
Alan Shore thanks for the help but I live in a smaller area so there aren’t that many dumpsters. And it’s harder for me to scrap because I’m only 15 although I take scrapping very seriously. But thanks again.
I'd say stay in school and try to get the best education you could. A good paying job beats any scrapping unless it's your life style and you literally have heaps of good things lying around like Ben has.
If you find any more of those tiny NEC displays around 16:00 grab them and I’ll pay you to ship them to me. Those are hard to find. And that giant binder of vintage CD-ROMs would have made a huge eBay score.
those last computer looks nice, the burnt computer, own may have burnt it or had a fault, over heated, lighting strike or power surge. a good score of computers
Yes that does seem a tad extreme. Interesting to see if it would be effective. Could one still recover the data off the hard drive? Now that would make interesting vid :-)
the high speed internet wire here in the states is tantalum the 650 platinum wire i am not sure what thats for for real their using tantalum and platinum
Ben its that time champ I think your going blind or your short term memory is shot at 20.24 you cut a cord then spent time looking over the pile then got all the stuff but that cord see a Dr champ PS I know its like Disneyland out there can't focus just plying keep on trucking champ live the content
Im just thinking , why dont you make a machine to strip all the cables and sell them as a copper wires only, not copper wires with the insolation on them. This will rise its prise i think. And again, great video :D I really enjoy it :D
There's a couple boards & wire, dvd's are good for light scrap out days, when I don't want to do heavy stuff and just play around. dvr's are even better with hard drives & better boards, set top boxes have good boards too so I pick 'em all up.
Another great video. I was wondering could you share a little more about why you take every DVD player. I know you only take older vcrs, but is it just the board you are going after in the dvd player? Or is the possibility of selling the player as a working unit. Have a great day, or I guess evening on your side of the globe. *** Update *** Scrolled to bottom and saw you already answered this question.
Not a professional cord cutter, that's all they do, I'm an incidental cord cutter, if it's right in front of me i'll take it, netter than in landfill though :)
10:59

Hey Ben, love your work mate! 1:00 I heard you say copper bars. I haven't seen the new furnace in too long...
I know, it's buried under a heap of stuff in the garage, I'm getting there but It's hard to catch up with scrapping the junk in the way
Yeah I know what you mean mate. "So much to do. So little time"
Yeah, summer time day's are longer and I have more time, but now in winter it gets dark too quick, going as fast as I can, making copper bars is one thing I love to do
Can't believe the piles of stuff people put out who has to pick this stuff up and is this every week? Michigan USA love to watch you.
It's only once a year but every suburb does it on a different week, so for about 5 months we can follow the trash, then it's back to normal.
17:44 min No stainless steel, but mostly brass
*15:20* Wown I got same case. I like it because it has all the holes in covers for better ventilation
You should take those subwoofers and other cinemaspeakers... Those are worth real money if they work...
21:40 not a power supply, seems to be a nightclub lasershow thing
OH YES
Computers, computers, and more computers! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Awesome video
I’m in Canada so scrapping is pretty hard to do.
I was wondering where to start looking and if there’s anything to look out for.
Thanks again and keep scrapping!
Maybe start with houses around you, ask people for their old electricals and scrap steel
eWaste Ben thanks again

If you are a good scraper and are kind to your fellow man when you die you will go to Melbourne.
Hey Ben, CDs have silver and its very easy to get it.
👍
👍👍👍Volch!

Ben u wished for pc's before going street scrapping right? :D
One Each
Today s the big score . Think positive.
those last computer looks nice, the burnt computer, own may have burnt it or had a fault, over heated, lighting strike or power surge. a good score of computers
almost a collectors item burnt pc 😂
The burned out PC was interesting. I've never seen that before.
I would suspect so
Wouldn't surprise me if they set it on fire, data destruction at it's most radical
Yes that does seem a tad extreme. Interesting to see if it would be effective. Could one still recover the data off the hard drive? Now that would make interesting vid :-)
Wow cant belive you left the Tvs like that but picked up the monitor
Monitors are easy to handle and have good copper, many tv's don't have good copper unless it's a huge tv.
You went scrap hunting and bagged a computer haha, lol.
The cash register could become a collectable since it has the key.
What do you take out of the dvds.👍♻
the high speed internet wire here in the states is tantalum the 650 platinum wire i am not sure what thats for for real their using tantalum and platinum
what do you do with the hard drives ? great video , ty for sharing .
Sell 'em just like circuit boards etc
ben i know you don't like printers but at least check if they have the ink tanks even empty in a lot they are good money
Ben its that time champ I think your going blind or your short term memory is shot at 20.24 you cut a cord then spent time looking over the pile then got all the stuff but that cord see a Dr champ PS I know its like Disneyland out there can't focus just plying keep on trucking champ live the content

he explained the other day why he does not strip household wire
Take the remote controls. They sell for good money on eBay.
_Hey! We got a _*_pc_*_ !_
i got over 200 pounds of tantalum wire last year
Do people get evicted every day? How is there so much street rubbish?
Michael Miller I cant believe the stuff they are throwing in the trash in Oz. In USA most of this stuff would be grabbed and resold on eBay.
Never seen a computer burnt up like that, I wonder what happened.
I need motocycle boots and they just are lying somewhere in mellbourne -.-
Hey ben, what is best to do with adapters? Shoukd i skip them or pile them up by themselves
The boxy type with prongs on the end? you can crack them open and take the transformer out if that's the one's your talking about
eWaste Ben ah yes, true, thankyou :)
can you tell us what you are making copper bars for
I show here.. ua-cam.com/video/Q3TFD42sNJo/v-deo.html
Good luck today 8/16 street scrappin
Is something different with how the video was recorded?
Yeah, first come forst serve on the PCs, the nerve of some people.
Almost first maybe next time.
the trash tells you about a countries economy it's getting harder to find electronics here in the usa in alot of cities
can u make a vidoe that is just going to the scrap yard
Does everyone throw scrap out on the same day or something? Lol
Why do you like DVD players? It doesn't seem like there would be much good in there.
There's a couple boards & wire, dvd's are good for light scrap out days, when I don't want to do heavy stuff and just play around.
dvr's are even better with hard drives & better boards, set top boxes have good boards too so I pick 'em all up.
Thanks Ben.
At 5:35 the TV stand has beautiful Cast aluminium under the p[plastic skin

Face it, you're a cord cutter. Stop talking like you're not. lol :)
Not a professional cord cutter, that's all they do, I'm an incidental cord cutter, if it's right in front of me i'll take it, netter than in landfill though :)
