I've felt the way Dan has felt for a long time. I guess if I were to give a defense, the movie starts off it's the 2001 off-season and we've got to replace Jason Giambi and Johnny Damon and we can't go out and sign big hitters, so how do we do that? But I agree, it kinda rubs me the wrong way that they act David Justice and Scott Hatteberg fueled the A's.
As someone who's lived in Visalia almost my entire life, he's right about El Prez-at least when he'd have been going there. There are many tequila stories coming from there.
moneyball is more about thinking outside the norm than baseball, exactly why he doesn't like it hes trying to make it about the norm, missed the while damn movie lmfao, but then again i have a degree in information science, so i like data
I’m not a baseball guy but I really enjoyed Moneyball; however, all the people I know who are “serious” about baseball didn’t care for it. Even my father, who actually use to play triple-a, didn’t care for it. I always thought it was because the movie tried to simplify the game too much but maybe, according to this, it’s because attention was brought to the wrong place. Either way, I enjoyed the movie.
no the attention was brought to the right place, its about the science not the baseball, why hes so angry at it lmao, just like all the old chaps in the movie HAHAHAHA
I don't really like this show anymore, but we share contempt for that dumb Moneyball movie. Hudson, Mulder, Zito, Koch, Tejada, Chávez... 🤷♂️ Names barely whispered or glimpsed in the movie.
Zito won the CY Young
And Tejada won the MVP in 2002.
Zito himself did not even mention he won that Cy Young Award, so humble! I wish they made the cameo!
A great hitter and great staff that put together that entire roster.

sequel to moneyball??? A movie based on a true story needs a sequel.

I'm pretty confident Will Clark had some of these types of stories.
But but...the point of Moneyball was GETTING ON BASE!

@@lafondawilliams Exactly! The science that has given the Oakland A's all those World Series titles since 2001. Incredible.

I didn't like the fact that when Billy and Ron visited Scott Hatteberg, they didn't take off their shoes at the front door.
Moneyball sucks...
