  • In this video I show the layout of my wig wag system and how to build it. It will work on any type of lighting and any mix of LED, halogen, incandescent, or even HID if they can light up fast enough. the flasher's only load is the relay and is unaffected by the lights, and these relays are good for up to 30 amps. A larger relay could be substituted as long as it has a 12 volt coil.

All the parts are available on ebay, I'll dig up the links and post in another reply. You take double sided thermal tape and use that to attach the LEDs to the aluminum plate. I wired them in series because they run 3.1 volts each. In parallel would.work just as well and would prevent complete shutdown in the event one burns out. The lenses clip onto the LED but aren't very secure so I spread some Permatex Plastic Epoxy around the contact area and held them with masking tape until it set up. The epoxy also secures the soldered joints and prevents any moisture damage. If you want to know more, feel free to ask. I can always make a new video doing the assembly if my explanation doesn't make sense

Can you tell me about the lights? How did you build them?

www.ebay.ca/itm/322153245872?var=511066715824 for the LEDs. www.ebay.ca/itm/173285551872 for the driver. www.ebay.ca/itm/152108760217?var=451309305838 for the lenses. I ordered all this stuff in bulk off their website (easy to find if you search their name) for a traffic control system and built the landing lights out of spare parts. You can easily build them out of other parts. The lenes are actually for a larger chip so, so those ones don't "click" into place and rely solely on the epoxy to hold them. So far, that seems to be plenty. Oh, the thermal tape: www.amazon.ca/dp/B07Z25F617/ref=sspa_dk_detail_4?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B07Z25F617&pd_rd_w=7IlW6&content-id=amzn1.sym.d8c43617-c625-45bd-a63f-ad8715c2c055&pf_rd_p=d8c43617-c625-45bd-a63f-ad8715c2c055&pf_rd_r=NHF0744HZAW5EXFKACJW&pd_rd_wg=Kn258&pd_rd_r=e41089cd-f6a4-4910-ab90-aa856fbdd0ad&s=hi&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9kZXRhaWw

In your schematic… It is showing the dual pole switch as well as a switch for the landing lights…. Are these both the same switch?

No different switches. The dual dual pole switch turns on the wig.wag lights, the other turns them on constantly. The landing.light switch overrides the flashing lights. The idea is that if you forget about the flashing lights on landing and just switch landing lights on like you normally would, the lights just stay on. Although the flasher will still be switching, the lights aren't affected

Forgot to say. In mine, each landing light has its own switch so I can turn them on separately if I want to. That's the other 2 switches
