In intro 3 Nate was talking with Fear and Fear quoted it because in almost all of his songs Fear was used so it could be either of them at any moment In the verse, there was a line: "its real music till the day we die right? Yeah ain't that the slogan Nathan" here someone was talking and it wasn't Nathan as shown by the line so the only conclusion is it was Fear
I love how much you break songs down. I hate when people get mad at people for pausing too much, like isn’t the point of a reaction is to break down the song?
I love him breaking them down this way. There are so many references that I don't catch in songs or understand the meaning to. So when he breaks this way down, I go ahha that what that meant. It's great and if people don't like it they should just go to the original song and listen for themselves. Right? ✌❤🤣 Peace, love and happiness to everyone.
Yeah thats why its fun too watch different reaction channels, like crypt sjö pause less but breaksdown alot, and scriptwork who is really breaking down the song too. But then we have nolifeshaq who dont break it down at all like many others who i dont watch. But i really like the matthews fam, he do break Down abit, and he is Good with older hiphop etc :)
Mansion- Feels like I missed my alarm and slept in. Wake Up- You spend your life in a dream that you can't escape. Intro 2- Telling with all my fans to wake up, but feel like I haven't.
"Insidious is blind inception" is one of my favorite lines from a song from a linguistic point of view. Insidious doesn't just mean "harmful", it means harmful effects that manifest slowly and subtly. Inception means the establishment or beginning of something, and these days it's associated with the mind (likely thanks to a certain movie). So what the line means is "slowly manifesting harm is a blind beginning" which says to me, considering those words in the context of the song, that we (in our minds) allow thoughts to manifest that are harmful to us without realizing the consequences until much later. The first part about "going downstairs" to me means going down emotionally into depression. Putting holes in the walls until he bleeds, considering the walls are the boundaries of his mind, means self inflicted torture or emotional trauma. Considering that's where his anger is, no surprise. Downstairs might also mean the basement, where he keeps things he doesn't often access. It's where he keeps the memories and feelings about the abuse, and he wishes he could "burn the room" but it won't go away so he just locks up the memories and emotion and avoids it. The whole song is one massive metaphor for his own head is such an amazing way to explore things, it's very engaging and doesn't just help us understand him, but helps people with similar issues form their issues into an image they can handle in a way they haven't been able to. "These walls are my blank expression" and then those blank expressions are covered in lyrics and pain. He sleeps in the room where his regrets are kept, even though he doesn't want to be there. We often think about what we regret the most when we're trying to sleep, or you could interpret it to mean that no matter what he consciously does, it's motivated or influenced by his regrets. I'll stop breaking stuff down now since this is just a youtube comment, but yeah Mansion is an amazing track.
I would say that you're kinda spot on.. Ive already put word's on my own trauma management as a child, how I leaned (without understanding) how to shut things down (fight/flight, to survive, and as a child fighting isn't really a option, it's kind of dissociation isn't it? But as he / you say, and i said this as well. So many people need this. So many people can think, wait, i recognize this, perhaps that feel lonely or depressed and maybe have that same feeling of being alone, vulnerable. Just hope some hear this before it's to late. Not only because the sheer amount of beauty, there's beauty out there, sometimes we just need to remember that, but also for the message.
In Intro III there’s the lyric “ ‘Is it me or the fear talking?’ What a dumb question!” Which is his fear mocking Nate in this song when he says “Is it me or the fear talking, I don’t know anymore.”
"Mansion" is one of the most lyrically intense, heartfelt and honest songs I've ever heard. I love how Nate just puts it all out there and talks about real life and his own psyche. It takes massive guts to do that.
My experience with NF up to intro 3. Imagine hearing this in order for the first time. Mansion, I learn about NF and I begin to connect and really care about NF. Therapy Session, you see and feel the fight NF is going through. At this point I was a irreversibly connected fan of NF. Then Perception, Intro 3 I'm listening for the first time. I'm not sure who or what he was talking too till halfway through the song, and then I understood it was fear and then the sound of the shovel hitting fear and I realized that NF has conquered his fear. I jumped up yelling YES YES YES he did it, and deep inside myself a spark of hope was kindled, maybe I can do it too.
I love that it's like one of the Russian dolls the more you open it there's another to open that has the Fibonacci sequence for its 🔐, it's a puzzle in itself.
This song was my introduction to NF. I hate how much I can relate to every word that he speaks in this song... I understand and feel his pain down to the core every time I listen to it. I'm happy he's able to share his pain on a scale where he can let people know they are not alone. He speaks out and reaches deep within the broken souls of this earth. I truly am happy he has blown up to an extreme level. I just want him to be happy at some point!!!
I’ve been listening to NF since 2008. I’m a Christian and I’ve always loved rap, so he’s been the boy forever. I’ve got “Broken Legs but I chase perfection” tattooed on my arm. He saved my life.
There are 2 types of reactions. 1 is if you just wanna chill and watch someone listen to the song. Then there is Knox Hill where EVERY SINGLE BAR is broken down. Thanks Knox!
These are the things that the majority of people face and depression and ptsd can create vaults that we forget the combination to, and it becomes a map in our head we navigate to find our way back.
Yes, "How could you leave us" was after. It was on his album Therapy Session, which was the album directly after Mansion. I saw someone below recommend "Remember This", that one is off his Perception album (right after Therapy Session). I think you'd appreciate that song! It's more straight forward, but he speaks so many facts! I enjoy all your breakdowns, but he goes deep and you catch it so well! #KnoxNation #VerseFam

Don’t think there’s as single song I don’t like. Love his depth of character & deep almost classical production. Really puts it all out there, great artist. I love how he mirrors the line in this song and Intro III: "Is that me or the fear talking, I don't know anymore" and "Is it me or the fear talking? HA! What a dumb question"
“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.” ― C.S. the way you break down every line, melody, everything, is honestly amazing. I have so much respect for you man, the things you do are amazing and please keep doing then. I'm watching all your reactions and I'm still amazed about how you catch the lyrics so quickly and explain them so well. And don't apologize for pausing man, that's what a reaction it's about, and not only that but to react to every aspect of it, the way you do. You're one of the few reactors that I know that does that and I appreciate it a lot. Your reactions are a journey, they could last an hour long and I'd still watch because you explain everything amazingly. Thanks for doing this man, keep going
Another reaction, so damn happy to see it. Knox, it's good to see you're doing another Nate reaction. Keep up the reactions bro. 🙌🙌🙌 Edit: I was just thinking about how he mentions fear coming in years ago, fear being a 'he'. So what if doing that he's mentioning Johnny?
The fact that this is the first song of his first album(Ik he had an album before it but through the thing I use it’s marked under a different name so I still usually call mansion his first album) is crazy
Request: Remember This by NF. This song is very powerful and It is also a very good song musically. Thanks for doing these reactions. But where is my free blade of grass?!
I always love your reactions to NF’s videos. To be honest, I have never watched any other videos of yours except NF reactions. My son introduced me to NF years ago. I use to think his songs were depressing, but the more I listen, the more I realize this guy has mean talent. I am now a 50 year old that owns all 4 albums and will continue listening to him. He is so awesome with his lyrics and music.
YES I'M THE FIRST VIEW AND COMMENT! Seriously I think God did something to let me do this. Legit miracle. I've never managed to do this before. Knox can I get a pin on this?
This is that song that makes me cry almost everytime, i resonate with it so much. So glad you keep going with him. Heres why he brought fear out in the intro 3.
This was the first song I ever heard from NF and I was fresh out of an institution for addiction and it hit hard . I've preordered every album since . I feel like hes a part of my recovery and my life since . Even took my kids to a concert . Thanks Knox
His lyrics connect so much more than I ever realized. Like you were mentioning with how could you leave us and this one, where he says he wishes he would’ve called but he doesn’t have time in the song to talk about it and then he talks about it in how could you leave us.
This was the first nf song I heard. Found this long before his radio hits and knew right away I had to hear more. Man is amazing with expressing himself with a pen
I don't even like reaction videos but I have been binging your channel. You have a way of making someone respect and understand the music on a deeper level.
I actually love your breakdown of this. So many other reactions I feel like so much goes over their heads but you nailed every one and even have insights that I hadn't thought of before. Amazing job!
This is why I subscribed! You really appreciate NF ; i have listened to Mansion countless times but i have missed the add lib scream in the background until today , you picked up on that. Great reaction video. Thank you, keep up the good work!
*slowly munches popcorn* your reacts to NF just make my chest all fuzzy. It makes me happy seeing someone getting exactly the reasons I love this artist.
Thanks for this reaction man! This song is soo deep and powerful... Honestly, I don't what I'd do without Nate's music. It helps me so much (just as much as your reactions help me to understand the songs better 'cause English is not my mother language ). Please stay on the nf journey.🙇
I really appreciate how well you explain each verse and what it symbolizes. You're very concise and intelligent, you're one of the few reaction UA-camrs that I really enjoy.
Broooooooo. I have watched SO MANY mansion reactions in the last 3 years. NOT A SINGLE ONE COMES CLOSE TO PROFESSOR KNOX! Holy fuck! That was an amazing breakdown my man! 🔥🔥🔥PROFESSOR KNOX🔥🔥🔥
This is proof positive that you *can* have a rap, you *CAN* have a flow, and make it go straight for one's heart. To put together a bridge of understanding between himself and the listener. And he does it from the first verse alone. But keeps strengthening that bond throughout the song. I *love* when music tells a story. And the fact that NF has so many unique approaches to his music, instrumentation and continuing to bring us down the journey of his childhood, and even his career as we know it. Discovering NF recently has easily been one of the highlights ever since. Given the reputation a lot of hip-hop/rap artists have created, having someone like NF challenge the 'status quo' and make music that speaks to everyone who's struggled. It can feel like you're having a heart to heart with him through his music. And that is SO much more powerful than most any message/art I've heard in my life. And I greatly admire that level of creativity, and honesty with himself.
Mansion was the first song that I ever heard from Nate back in 2015. And I was just enamored at the self-awareness and the levels of displayed poetic introspection. And I haven’t stopped jamming NF since that day.
I swear all NF Songs make me cry- because its just- its sad but amazing with how he takes his past and puts it into music like this! I feel so bad for him... But I dont think he wants sympathy or anything- I think he just wants people to realise.. He will forever be my idol..
This man is SO TALENTED! All his lyrics hit so deep and close to home. Wonder if he’s a Virgo like me? We think about EVERYTHING so deeply that it’s easy to get stuck in the depths.
Brilliant Reaction. This song is life changing and the absolute story and the best explanation of the minds of those who have suffered horrible traumas. Your evaluation of the lyricism of Nate is profound and on point. Always interesting to see how people react to this song. One of the greats.
I'm not that much into Rap, but all I want to listen to now, is NF. That's how deep this guy really is. He's much more than just figurehead. I don't connect to all of his songs, the ones I do, hit really deep. I hope he comes out with another one soon. If he doesn't come out with anymore, job well done.
Your face when he says he let fear in was fantastic. The realization that you should have listened to this first was great lol. The connections are crazy 🔥
Another three songs that connect well are No Name, The Search, and Leave Me Alone, all three of those talk about about fame like it’s a person, not a thing. Love your reactions!

Knox can I get a pin on this?
you got it!!!🎉
Lol... Oh Yeah!?
Well I'm the first one with the best comment.... ;)
Hey!.... That's pretty DEEP ain't it? ;)
It’s not this big of a deal
This is that song that makes me cry almost everytime, i resonate with it so much. So glad you keep going with him. Heres why he brought fear out in the intro 3.
Hands down Knox you're 2nd to none when it comes to breaking down songs💯🍻
This was the first song I ever heard from NF and I was fresh out of an institution for addiction and it hit hard . I've preordered every album since . I feel like hes a part of my recovery and my life since . Even took my kids to a concert . Thanks Knox
This was like watching you watch a movie from end to the start. 😂
His lyrics connect so much more than I ever realized. Like you were mentioning with how could you leave us and this one, where he says he wishes he would’ve called but he doesn’t have time in the song to talk about it and then he talks about it in how could you leave us.
Can you react to Oh Lord by NF?
That is an amazing song. It really hits home. 💖
You should react to “if you want love” by NF is a really good song
Dude I’ve listened to this song at least a hundred times. But your reaction gives this song so much depth that I never realized listening.
I think you should do paralyzed next
Btw i love ur music
So proud of u Knox. Hitting a million. U r the only person I refer to for real reactions.
Please react to NF - Paralyzed
This was the first nf song I heard. Found this long before his radio hits and knew right away I had to hear more. Man is amazing with expressing himself with a pen
By teh way you react I could see You're a Fanboy now! Awesome!😅😁
Please react to NF Destiny!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This was the first NF song I ever heard. I’ve always been so intrigued with the vulnerability and depth of his songs.
Mansion “is it me or the fear talking? I don’t know anymore.”
INTRO III “is it me or the fear talking? What a dumb question.”
I don't even like reaction videos but I have been binging your channel. You have a way of making someone respect and understand the music on a deeper level.
can you react to this comment
Cool drawing
I actually love your breakdown of this. So many other reactions I feel like so much goes over their heads but you nailed every one and even have insights that I hadn't thought of before. Amazing job!
Thank you so much Knox, I really enjoyed and appreciated this reaction. Never change brother
This is why I subscribed! You really appreciate NF ; i have listened to Mansion countless times but i have missed the add lib scream in the background until today , you picked up on that. Great reaction video. Thank you, keep up the good work!
I love you so much with how you break/brake down NF's songs.....please don't ever quit reactions, you are definitely one of a kind!!! ❤️❤️❤️
And I haven’t stopped jamming NF since that day.
i gotta say, i cant get enough of Nate but this guy makes me cry so damn much.
Remember this! It is one of my favorites!
This is the NF song that changed my perspective of him from an MC into a poet. Nate is on a deeper level then other rappers on this scene.
This song is one of my top 5s by NF, thanks for breaking it down... great video as always, Knox!
I loveeeee how you know your shit about NF. & loveeee how you appreciate everything and acknowledge everything.❤️
Brilliant Reaction. This song is life changing and the absolute story and the best explanation of the minds of those who have suffered horrible traumas. Your evaluation of the lyricism of Nate is profound and on point. Always interesting to see how people react to this song. One of the greats.
"Remember this" next please!! Amazing reaction love it❤️❤️
Yessssss!!!
I’ve been waiting. You have no idea. Now I’m hype. Everything’s looking up. ❤️❤️
This and hope are two of my favorite NF tracks
