Cards game made to be played and have fun, I'm just happy if those card value go down. Need more reprint and set like this. I personally own multiple cards of this set and I don't care because ... it's paper. Thanks for sharing, I hope news players will grab it.
For you and me it may not mean much, but the person making this video runs a card store. Card stores need cards to maintain some value in order for them to make money and remain open.
@@Cyber1zed Games need a healthy balance of old players and new players to work, if you ponzi scheme off the "investors" you'll be left with the sack sooner rather than later see all crypto scams. A card store than can't business shouldn't exist and a card store that relies on single prices is led by stupid.
then why not just print fake cards who care right? got 8 black lotus in my deck who care its just a game why count point? who care the basic is just to have fun right? everyone is a winner yeah!
as a cardshop owner, i'm glad to see more products that are actually meant to bring new players into the game. That, in the long run, will be a better value for us, and for the players, and even for the game.
All of this reprint are GREAT!! The weirdness around "running the value of these cards into the ground" is so odd when this is meant to be a card game that you actually play. MTG's main focus is NOT being a collectable TCG, I'm so glad that they're getting more cards out so people can play with them!! ⭐
Magic the Gathering. Its in the name bro. Yes its a game but these cards need to hold some value inorder for people to have fun chasing and collecting. If a new TCG comes out and all the cards are below 2$, the game would die fast
If they hold no collectible value then why are we paying $200 for a box of cards. If all bulk bin then a box should be more like $60. As you pointed out, it's just cardboard.
@@entertainmentinc9735 That's what I think the alternative treatments are for. Pokemon is doing fine with them. I think the WOTC has actually finally got it almost right with stuff like the Raised-Gold-Foils in Bloomburrow, but they made it Collector's only which really limits who gets to collect, and the prices are insane.
This set is making a lot of people who treat this game like a financial investment mad. And it's a very good sign. Im glad that this will likely bring down the prices of many cards
Can't make anyone happy, they will complain when you put good cards in product like this, or will complain if you fill it with bulk rares. I was glad to see wizards put some decent reprints in here. And long term I think they end up holding. Did you know there are some cards that were put in FREE welcome packs that stores could get over and over that still have significant value over bulk?
We should be happy there's a good product to bring people into the game with - that's a million times more important than the value of a handful of singles.
I joined MTG with a few boxes of duskmourn, but am hoping to learn how to play. I know packs like these receive mixed community reactions, but as a new player I am excited to get this pack to have a starter deck I can build out from.
Had tons of mtg cards then they got stolen when my house was broken into! Recently got back into it and think this will be a great start!!!! $50 for 350 plus cards! Hell yeah!
I'm definetly gonna get at least one of these. Actually I think the 1st shipments of these will be sold out pretty quickly. Maybe the booster displays will as well. I love that they put dividers in the box, and I love that you get all those regular Rebecca Guay basics. And that Jim Nelson forest is my favorite forest. I don't mind that they've re-printed it so many times hehe.
This is Great for a New Player starting out. Some good cards in there. I have just about every card in there. For a card shop selling singles yea that can hurt. Then again getting more new players is more business.
I thought that this product is supposed to enable you to build decks for standard and that is how I intended to use it. But seeing that each card is only there once that plan is off the table
It's a good value for new players, but it's not that much value over all. I think the most expensive card is Aurelia and she was down to $5 during Double Masters 2022 - Aftermath.
in all seriousness, who the F care about "card value?" Dumbest thing ever tbh. The cheaper the cards the better for everyone. It's a card game, NOT an investment. Just look at all the extreme losers that got mad when the recent cards were banned in commander for example. The absolute bottom of the barrel losers that got the idea about the game completely wrong. Buying overpriced staples is such a burden. This stating box is probably one of the best products they have made in a long time. Fully welcoming and embracing new players and setting a staple for what to expect within magic.
If the margins on this product are better for LGS stores (wishful thinking maybe), then I strictly love this product. If not, then I'm happy for the new player and remorseful for the LGSs pressured into secondary market to make rent.

@@Cyber1zedit also works if the bundle itself sells well because it is good value. Doesn't always have to be singles.

Given the set is gonna be standard for 5 years, it's most likely a big print run, which will help keep the price down a bit.

Deckbuilder's Toolkits needed to come back- there hasn't been a good instant-collection option for years now. This looks like an excellent addition.

Wow. I will definitely grab this. So surprising! Thanks for sharing your experience!

After having all of my cards I built up over years stolen on me a couple years ago....never bought anymore.... This makes me want to go back.

im glad i preordered one of these. i dont pick mine up until Friday.
Yeah I remember the deck builders toolkit. I bought one in 2014. Singles for me

Best Starter set in the history of MtG 10/10!
I ordered one of these just for the clickwheel. Thanks Dan
Is this out yet?
Not yet. Pre-release starts this friday :)
I ordered x2 of this to support Wotc 😅

This set is low key commander foundations 😂
