Hello lovelies, welcome to another exciting DIY video. In this video, I have made out a matching Skirt Top set (also called two-piece set) which looks absolutely amazing with a total expense of only $5.
Materials needed are:
Sewing machine
Pen/Pencil
Straight edge (ruler, tape, book etc.)
Grater
Scissors
Pair of shorts for guide

is there a way to do the waistband if you don't have any elastic?
you can add a button at the end of the band & a button hole on the other end or use pieces of hook & loop fabric at the end of the band like I did in this video ua-cam.com/video/eVJPFTGIyKU/v-deo.html

I would just make t BFF top longer and connect the zip from the top to half way down the bottom
What if you don't have a skirt to make a shape
You can wrap the fabric around, from your waist area. The fabric wrong side out & pin it, that way you will trace your body shape

I'm the most beginner of beginners and I have so many questions .--. How did you end up dealing with the zipper for the top being longer than you needed it to be? And for the skirt, would it have been the same if instead of cutting the back in two completely separate pieces you instead cut up only 20 cms down from the top to sew the zipper in that slit?
For the top you can cut the bottom off of the zipper and yes you can cut the back in two

Your welcome but there would be a lump at the bottom of the zip so you would have to take that in but it wouldn't take away from the fabric
