@MBrady1970 Yes I know that - it does say at the very beginning twice that the film was shot in Blythe and not at Dunston. I also wrote that it is there for comparison as most people have no idea what staithes look (ed) like.
I had a lot of fun doing this! You can walk to the staithes shown here at Dunston from the centre (as I did). These staithes however are not the ones used in the film!
Of all the GC scenes I found the staithes strangely scary.....would love to see them in operation back in the day very high up but looks to be built on several levels with tracks on an incline along the back maybe?

Normally pop over to Dunston Staithes on my bike it's nice and peaceful ..
Dunston was NOT USED IN THE FILM!!!!! trust me!!! Blythes Staithes were used but they were chopped down...only the base remains!!!
