maycee barber gets top five opponent next for sure, josh Emmett has so much heart but sadly he needs to hang up the gloves, and ilia topuria gets next title shot at the end of the year in December
he wont get the title shot, first of all because Yair will win, then he has to beat someone else before the tile shot, because there will be a rematch between volk and Yair

If Ilia would fight Max next, he would get the Ortega-Kattar-Yair-Arnold Ellen treatment. Max is only losing to Volk, so if they want a Ilia to fight Volk, he has to duck Max.

50 - 42 a little to giving on points. Emmett was fighting and moving forward putting pressure on toperia. I've seen people getting beat senseless and get 10 - 9 rounds. Max Holloway was destroying Calvin Cattar and got similar score cards 50 -43 50 - 42.
Chris Lee have a 10-7 round is why the score was like that

50-42 is absolutely ludacris, fight was much closer than that atrocious score card. I had the over so I am unbiased. And I was in the arena and saw it with my own eyes.

So cool DC and RC will be from their mania week. I think Illa is 1 maybe 2 fights away. Like Megan said, it will depend on UFC 290. Maycee is a woman in the UFC. She has matured. When she came to the UFC she was hellbent on being the youngest champion in UFC history. Now with a great gym like Team Alpha Male, she is in no hurry. She is probably 1-2 fights away from a title shot.
Unpopular opinion: Yair is a tougher matchup for Topuria than Alex
It is. And he knows it. That's why he wants to fight volk... The style of Yair is more uncomfortable for Topuria

I think Illia is the truth!! But I think Josh Emmit (in terms of his technical prowess in the striking realm) is kinda overrated… he has absurd power an speed (which has rlly carried him thru his career in the ufc, he’s also been smart about not taking a ton of fights in the last 3-4 hrs an has beat the right guys to stay high in the rankings) but this fight tonight rlly showed the difference in striking (especially his boxing) between the two fighters! I’m excited to see Topuria fight the elite at 145
No one who watches ufc has ever described Emmett’s style as “technical prowess”.
He’s a heavy hitting, durable fighter that is solid everywhere but excels nowhere other than power.
Max will smash everyone in the way, so no one will get the title shot. 😂 I have been saying this since before the Kattar beating. Yair is lucky to lose to Max, and then still get a title shot off of a win against Ortega and Emmet. Max is the Robert Whittaker of the 145 division, so I dont think Ilia will fight Max before Volk.

Be realistic that third round was not a 10-8 round nor was that 4th round a 10-7, 10-8 arguably. I only think a 10-7 should be gifted if absolutely dominate flawless round taking no strikes at all

Emmett on his way out,taken to much damage,a little to slow,just catching up to him,could still win some fights just not at the top
He has two round arm punches, no jab, no bJJ and no kicks. His punches are slowest in division. Power wasted, burning himself out by swinging for fences with little to no setup. Would be sad if he ruin his record and get brain dmg for a mizely 100/200k more.

Ufc is pushing Ilia so hard. Hes a great fighter but Emmett is 38 and got finished by Yair and arguably lost to Kattar.

But he is higher ranked, you can make the same argument for Emmett. If he is so washed and out of his prime, should the ufc give him bums, so one of the bums or washed Emmett can still climb the ranking? Or should they rather give the Top 5 guy to a prospect who still has to work his way up? I mean he has to fight SOMEONE, why not one of the top 5s?

That scorecard was out of line. 50-44 or 49-45 is a much more accurate representation on the fight, Emmet was close to getting finished in one of the rounds, all others were competitive by definition of the rules. Judges suck.
Competitive how? Ilia was never in danger and lead the fight all 5 rounds
@@Lcraver96 competitive as in Emmet fought back and didn't "almost get finished" every round, per the rules set a 10-8 is top down, one sided beat down with little to no participation from the other side. And at this point I think people are forgetting that Emmet did land clean head strikes and leg kicks that were effective.
