Ittihad road, just before the runway, I drive through it everyday to and fro to work. It's amazing to see the A380's land and take off while driving by. The other side of the runway, on the way to Sharjah/ National Paints via Mirdiff city center is also a good drive to see planes landing.

Back in the day (early 2K) we used to have window-rattling smoky birds like IL-76, TU-154, 727, DC-10.....even the odd Tristar and other Soviet-era types visit DXB regularly. They've all since been banished. Truly miss those true jet sounds and instead get to hear only modern monotonous hairdryers.....
Nice touchdown. I transited through Dubai last week and we had to circle Dubai airport for 1.5 hours before landing because of fog on the ground. Luckily, my connecting flight was six hours away and I didn't miss it. What carrier/airline is that?

When I visited Dubai, I used to spot aircrafts on the Dubai-Sharjah Road!! Yeah, it's a great plane spotting area!
