That coughing portion at the beginning and all the interruptions of noises, yeah...that’s every time I’m cooking. Only the interruptions are kids and bugs, what’s the difference though? 😂😂😂
Loving that George has his own series now, except he's making me very, very hungry. (Have been loving the evolution of your hair, George. Seriously. Looked great last video, this one looks like it's time for a trim.)
These videos are my favorite, I’ve honestly become so much more passionate about hamburgers since the first videos with Motz (as well as Kenji) that y’all did a few years ago. Preaching the gospel of the smash burger, learning more about regional varieties... THIS IS MY RELIGION
guys meat market will always hold a special place in my heart, my dad used to take my brother and i there after doctors appointments when we were kids, he managed to get a hold of some of there seasoning mix a few years back and we have slowly been reverse engineering it ever since, it takes those burgers from good to GREAT
I think part of it is he may be delivering lines to his daughter/camera operator since she's there as opposed to just the camera lens. He gets realtime reactions that way.
I’m so glad George is doing this. I’ve been a fan since his short-lived show on Travel Channel. It’s great that he’s sharing his burger knowledge with the masses.
The burger sessions are great, however I'd love to see a closeup of the finished product. I mean, you can't mention a smoke ring and not show it. That's a rule, isn't it?
I absolutely love George’s work but if you want genuine Texas barbecue taste you can’t use that super sweet brown sauce, that’s Kansas City style barbecue sauce. Texas barbecue sauce is tomato based, it’s a lot redder, a bit thinner, and way more peppery.
One of the best parts of these videos is when George just dives into the burgers he has made, not just setting it on a plate to admire, just goes in and enjoys himself.
I love that George doesn’t feel the need to use bullshit descriptors and superlatives to describe his food. “Hmm oh yeah that’s good” is all I need to know that this burger tastes great
Hands down best videos on UA-cam right now. Absolutely love George Motz and his style of presenting information. He makes burgers seem transformational! So good!
Definitely a slow cooked way to make a burger, not surprised that it comes from Texas. Another great way to make a burger slowly and I will add this to my list of ways to make a burger. Love the episode and it always makes me want a Burger, I am a fan of the Juice Lucy .
Wow I moved away from Houston a few years ago. I used to live in the same neighborhood as Guy's Meat Market. Their smoked burger that you had is truly amazing.
I’m so glad you said it! People were saying to use heavy woods for smoking burgers, but just didn’t make sense to me personally. I immediately disagreed and said that I thought apple or cherry might be good for that same reason.
2:16 You want to place the vent above the meat, as you want to pull the smoke over your meat. The way you have it most of the smoke will go out the vent.
@@darkwater234 Yeah you can use an external thermometer if you want. The grill temperature doesn't matter much as you want blue smoke over hitting the right temperature. A few degrees isn't going to matter too much.
I actually really like this style. With the airplanes (and birds) left in, it makes it seem a little improvisational, which actually seems to work for George's vibe really well. Keep it up!
I do 8oz burger patties when I smoke burgers. And yeah as you said it’s a good burger to make when you wanna slow down. I would do these every time I hosted a pool party and I’d just sit back, talk to friends and drink.
Today is my 21st Birthday and I cooked a burger off this show, I cooked the Juicy Lucy burger that you had cooked for Babish, here in South Africa we don't have american cheese so I had to make do with gouda, and let me tell you it was amazing, thank you George for all your awesome work and stay safe during these trying times :D

It’s no longer there, but Guy’s Meat Market in Houston was where I had my first smoked burger and they were amazing! I went back twice more that same week and almost weekly for awhile.
I'm not gonna lie and say I've watched every one (at this rate I might just get there), but this is already my all time favorite UA-cam series. I just never realized how much I like burgers 😂
Like if you'd enroll in a burger class taught by George!

That was a good video... but was totally waiting for the close-up of the cross-section, showing that smoke ring?!
