If you searched for this song it doesn't matter about your age, but know that you have a unique instinct in terms of music spirituality,, you understand the worth of happiness in African music,,chicco you were a blessing indeed 🙏
27 April 2024 I'm here, do listen to Brenda Fassie my black president and Johnny Clegg an Siyavuka asmbomanga, today sharing the music history with my children on this freedom day ❤
In Nigeria, my dad would play these songs along with chimora, Yvonne chaka chaka and Hugh Masekela while my sister and i rocked to it. Great, sweet memories.
Meanwhile, some of us were enjoying the likes of Prince Nico Mbarga,Les Wanyika and Franco Luambo. It’s funny as I remember, our parties were heavily influenced by west African music along with our danshiki silhouettes.
You can listen this song over and over, you dont get tired of it - just listen to the beat! Imagine oneself on the long trip with the one you love and, eish!
How does listening to old South Africa music put me in a space where I think I’ve grown up in South Africa and I’ve never been to South Africa. I’m from Zambia and the nostalgia of listening to South African oldies is just gold I feel like crying . Wishing I was born in that era
Visit South Africa, though things have changed, nothing ever stays the same I guess. We are blesses to have this kind of music growing up, It takes me way back.😊
OMG! Tribute to my Mom! Every birthday she would make sure she played this song! Good memories, it just hit me that growing up in the 90s in Nairobi was a blessing in its own right!
Ohk Chicco reminds me of my youth days, early 90s when South Africa was still peaceful country. When ladies were still dress with dignity not what we see today
I feel crying, Thank you so much God for keeping me alive. I'm here with you in 2019.when I had this song in 1988 I could start dancing and daddy tell stop and do the work and go to school.
My father was working in Gauteng, he used to come with his songs and this was one of my favorite songs back in early 2000🤞i really miss those days and my father's soul may continue to rest in peace❤🕊
I remember back in the days when l was seven years old , dancing to this classic , Chicco Twala has been owning the game Missing the glory days ,watching this video from my apartment in Russia, I will be back home South Africa
Reminds me of my Late Uncle Eric, I miss him sorely 😭 I especially miss how proud to be black he was and how he used to gather all of us as children and made us sing and dance to such beautiful songs with so much positivity ❤
I was eight when this video played ..still enjoy the video and the kid in red just kills it .. Simple lyrics no swearing and sex talks ..Gone are those days..
Watching in 2018. Memories of Nairobi growing up watching Fred ombachi machoka on music time, on our black n white Toshiba TV... Such an innocent time. Kids today are born immune to watching & enjoying stuff like this. They dont even know how to play outside wuthout ANY ELECTRONIC DEVICES. Such a shame. Im glad im a child of the 80's 💃💃💃✌👋
Kwani watu hawajaelewa this comment?the owner meant the song brought memories of his childhood days growing up in Nairobi. I also remember growing up with these songs on music time. Wakalelu and obachi machoka. Good old times when music was really music
Nice to see the old Johannesburg vehicle registration plates, similar to that from Botswana and shared with us by the British. The British have kept the same system of a yellow back plate and a white front one.
Indeed as an East African, this song made our childhood during the middle of the 1980s. For me coming from a war torn Northern Uganda this gave the only happiness then. Great memory although it was hard times.
Been in South Africa for 18 years, never heard this song since my childhood in Congo and to read from the comments, this was a hit in many other African countries.
I wish i could get comments from the 2 masters with caps dancing and just here how they felt dancing to this tune in early 80s they are champions there moves in dancing are killer ones, chicco we miss you where are you.
Welcome on board chicco twala here in central Kenya,we listened and remember your sweet music that used to play in our national radio in those hey days through our legend dj John karani. Hongera chicco.

Wow! Indeed the chicco & children displayed their talent, I imagine all the children are grown up adults now coz I 1st heard that song more than 25 years ago when I was a little child ike some of those little children in the video. Good memories indeed.
Love looking for new African music, so far, EVERY song I LOVE IS South Africa music. hmmm Talent out there I see!!! I love the sound of that instrument he's playing and the kids and the dancing, YES!!!
Reading all these comments on various African Golden Oldies music channels makes one realize that Africa is one. Just a shame that we can not work together to make it GREAT. Let's make African Great Again as it is supposed to be.
🤣 🤣 Indeed many of us did that.. I will be like "mines are volvo, yours are BMW and yours are benz", let's start counting, the one with many cars is a winner 🥇
This is the BEST Video I have ever seen with kids in it...the rhythmic dancing and sweet song from the artist is really amazing. Shows that even Kids have real talents.
I used to love and admire this man. His contribution to the South African music industry is immeasurable and thanks to my parents I was exposed to great quality music from a young age (I'm a born free, 1994) but after what his son Longwe did, robbing the nation of our number one goalkeeper Senzo Robert Meyiwa and how they both contradicted themselves on national radio and are yet to be arrested for murder and defeating ends of justice, bo sefane mperekele, I have lost respect for him. Maybe one day justice will prevail for Nzori
