@@TheDiscriminatingGamer Got it as well (Facebook Market). I just have to plan a playthrough with my one friend (He's a HUGE wargame buff and my go to guy for new games).
You NEED to play City of Remnants. It's a great game, and my favorite by Plaid Hat Games. I'm sad to see their new game (Neon Gods) is just a skinned down version of City of Remnants as I had hoped that they would try to fix the great game they had. Still, I enjoy the game. Though the FAQ is a must read.
So with how good those mini's look, they are begging to be painted. I don't have an artistic bone in my body, so I was wondering if you had any recommendations of companies or studios that do a good job of painting mini's for a good price.
No. I don't. I had a buddy back home who painted and I was going to pay him to paint my SW Rebellion, but I never did. I regret it. Sadly, no recommendations.
Turtledove has become a bit lazy, I read Joe Steele cover to cover and it was mostly just trying the match events in history one by one with a Stalin twist. There wasn't that much of a divergence, more just everything replaced by something else (Korea by Japan, Court packing by show trials, etc).
A I haven’t read Turtledove in years. I’ve got a copy of Joe Steele somewhere. I keep thinking I’ll pick up something of his again, but never get round to it. I think he relies to much on dialogues but not enough on action.
I'm reading through his older stuff, it's quite good, I realize why he was so popular and built such a name for himself. Have you read Fire on the Mountain or Years of Rice and Salt?
I have not read either of those. I used to read a lot of Turtledove, however. I loved his Worldwar series, and his Order 191 Series. He had a few stand alones that were really good too, and a few stinkers as well. He began to repeat himself too much in his books, however. He would repeat phrases again and again until you could see them coming. I was really disappointed in his "In the Presence of Mine Enemies," which did this quite a bit. There is a lot of good alternate history out there, however. The first one read, and one that I still think is one of the best, is Robert Harris' "Fatherland."
Originally I was about to pitch Starship Samurai, until I saw I got rules wrong and it got REALLY good
It's a fun game!
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer It is. I have Star Wars Rebellion (Haven't played it yet).
@@LeeroyPorkins Play Star Wars Rebellion ASAP - but make sure you play with the expansion!

That intro really made me scratch my head until you said Harry Turtledove, lol.
Glad it made sense. ;)

I've heard that that game is either love it or hate it. Maybe sometime down the road I'll check it out.

Have you read any of the 1632 series by Eric Flint?
Mark Smiley I have not but I’ve heard good things about it.
Alternative histories lol
Indeed!
is this similar to Destinty Aurora ?
I am not familiar with that a game, so I cannot comment.
