You are able to get a 3D print to have a finished look by using acetone vapors to melt the outside of the plastic, it makes it look wet or permanently melted when it hardens again

I’m hoping the iPhone Fold brings back the 5.8 inch display like the Google Pixel Fold, although it probably won’t be til 2025
I see more hype around a larger foldable ipad than a phone. The problems solved by a folding phone are not worth the cost imo. However, a ~14" or 15" foldable ipad pro...possibly.
Other vendor's foldable phones currently are having screen problems .....i know of two people myself....breaking or fold creases in screen.

Awesome like Samsung, they can't write a UI which can be as smooth as the iOS. I'm using Galaxy S21 and iPad Air 3, and what you said in your video just makes me doubt that have you really compared the UI animation between oneUI and iOS???

Apple will NEVER have a foldable anything before there is a) A use case, b) Value added and c) Functional technology without compromise. That means there will not be any such product from Apple in 10-20 years.

I'm just not a fan of foldable phones. Seems like such a gimmick. Plus, no matter how well they are made, it still has moving parts and won't be as sturdy as a normal phone. And the screen will still bend and crease to some degree. I just prefer a solid glass screen.
But I agree that if they do it, they should go large and make an ipad fold into a iphone, not a phone that folds into a smaller phone.
Take my money if this actually comes out.

What a brilliant project. It looks a bit shit though. I’m sure I once saw a patent from Apple that showed a different way of making a foldable iPhone. The screen didn’t bend. I think there were 2 panels that came together when opened so the phone could fold flat rather than having that lop sided thing going on

Kudos to the presenter. Exceptional review. Marques Brownlee has always been a benchmark for me in the content and presentation of his videos. He is still the benchmark for me but this young man is really good. Not sure how a copier can do this using Apples name and logos without Apples endorsement. If Apple make a foldable I hope it is the size of the iPhone 14 Pro Max when closed and opens up like a book. I don’t see the point of the Z flip style that gives a similar size screen to the Pro Max when open but is much thicker.
The z flip type of foldable is more popular amongst women. Particularly the always taking selfies crowd. No need for a stand or tripod.
Im hoping for something more like the fold with iOS and a stylus, and just perhaps a tad wider screen on the outside when folded up.
I'm gonna be honest about it.
I don't see the need for a foldable phone in the first place.
It's a trend I don't quite get.
I have my iPhone 14 Pro, the size is perfectly fine and honestly, the feeling of having a brick in the pocket instead of a Small box just feels way more premium for the price I pay for it.
I wouldn't consider a foldable phone, doesn't matter if it's Apple, Samsung or other manufactures.
Even if they might have some flashy and nice features, I still wouldn't get one.
It's something I would buy if I had a lot of money, just as an experiment.
But I'm not in the position to make such purchases, the only reason I got myself something as expensive as an iPhone 14 Pro (I live in the Germany, so the prices are significantly higher here than in the US) is simply because my last phone was an iPhone 6S and it screamed for an upgrade.
I try to hold onto my phone for as long as possible so getting the latest one gives me a guaranteed long lifetime.
It's worth mentioning though that this is my opinion and it does not apply to other people.
So if anyone is interested in buying this kinds of phones and they see themselves happier with a foldable then go ahead.
That's why we have different brands and different types of things, to match everyone's taste and desire.
And that is good.

I personally wouldn't buy a foldable iPhone or any other foldable device for that matter bcuz of the moving parts in it and not knowing how it would hold up in years after buying it. I don't think Apple should venture into this cuz I bet not many people will buy it either!
I get a foldable phone, that folds like a book, but that fold in half, like in this video, is just so stupid... if you unfold the phone is just a regular size phone, and if you fold it is twice as thick

I don't think I would want a foldable iPhone, what happens in the long run? what if it breaks... what if the screen isn't smooth anymore. Oh my... I have a lot of what if. I'm still using an iPhone 6S and pushing myself to 2023 for the iPhone 15 to get one. Lets just hope for the best and that it's up to my taste or maybe they have more choices for the iPhone 15. If it doesn't, then I have no choice but to get myself an iPhone 14, it doesn't matter to me that its a year old release, what's good for me is that I can use it in the long run. 😄
