I admire this guy. As an atheist! But for different reasons! I say this without having watched all his videos. I was not watching them to become Muslim but this guy was born as an American in times when being black(okay, he is in part Native American) meant you are the butt of society and your country rather likes you as cannon fodder in Vietnam. He fled to Canada and built a life for himself, got educated and learned to speak to people very well. I do not share his belief but I can respect the way he lead his life while still being amused about his sometimes silly comments. He stressed the importance of the Arabs in modern computer science reducing their contributions having introduced the zero as a number. Well modern computer science does not really need that a flip flop is either charged or discharged labelled as 1 or 0, meaning it has 0,0V or (3,3V or more). But this is the only thing I can recall now. The Arabic and Persian scientist contributed a lot and saved the old Greek works so Europe could reclaim them. Modern Christians do not know that back then Europe's people were made Christians in a most violent way, Taliban-style.
Agreed, Sebastian Schulz... Abdul Hakim Quick is very, very smart and one of the best orators. His Friday sermons are always timely and impressive. His work as a Historian is truly amazing!

I just picked up where the criticism against Quick is possibly most merited. Quick appologized for homophobic statements but made clear that he does not condone any violents against gay people. His critics make a point when they demand that he clearly publics where he stands in those issues to avoided being someone who back-handedly supports islamist positions and be politically correct when quized by Western Media and non Muslims. This is true, but the same people should demand that from the majority of Christians. It is less Canada but more the US where people like to give American military campaigns some spin as a war of Christianity against Islam.

Second, as for your question, do you know that Mohammed, the prophet of Islam used to live in one room with every wife of his women ! A very modest and humble life ! He used to live for a month and two months without cooking. He used to be a role model to the Muslims.
