Hey Kevin, it's been a while I miss your videos. May you rest in peace. I just wanna let you know I'm hot tenting using a hammock version of some verses a tipi. Wish I could've shown you how cool it is to have a hammock hit tent. I didn't get a kifaru stove BTW not a mini, they don't make those anymore, so I got the med sized one!!! It's excellent. Thank you for introducing me to this type of adventure!!!

Those stone farmer's walls are at least 180 years old. They were most likely built pre-railroad. So, they were probably built sometime between 1700 and 1840. The approximate age can be determined by the lican on the stone. The work to build those walls must have been incredibly labor intensive involving heavy lifting and hauling by oxen. History is amazing! Enjoyed your video. Excellent!

Third! I’ve liked it, now I’ll watch it! Thanks, man! I LOVE it when you go hot tenting! And the sound of that wood you sawed up for the stove...you just know when you knock two pieces of it together, the sound alone tells you how it’s gonna burn. Nice! The chorizo sausage with the cauliflower rice...forget about it! Looked delicious. I’ve switched to that as well.

Good to see you again. As I always you bring something new to the table. I have a snowmobile hot tent situation but lack a potential future backpack option. This tent looks perfect. I like buying American but there expensive and it’s not worth it if I don’t get to use it much. My snowmobile equipment right now works so I don’t want to get one nice tent for both situations. I’ll be considering this and thanks for the mod advice and links. I’m watching vids and gearing up. I hope to start my own channel this year that I didn’t pull off last winter. Thanks you are my top inspiration and I learned a lot from you. Got my Seek stove after watching you and others 😊❤️🇺🇸❄️☃️⛺️🛷

The hook inside the tent, at the top, most likely to hang an ‘inner net’ setup. I just bought a 1.5 person full winter inner (read-very little netting) from Luxe as a close out. About $41, cheap. Fits in my MLD Duomid XL just fine. Uses the hook at the top to hang. Nice video.

I like the idea of the 2 doors; the flexibility for entry is great, especially if you had 2 people in the tent, you wouldn't have to squeeze by each other or the hot stove. It looks like the same material as the OneTigris - 20D Silnylon making this one very light shelter.

    • @MegaWoodswalker

Been seeing a lot of UA-cam videos recently on the One Tigris/Black Orca Smokey Hut tents (which I never heard of either until very recently). They're about $140. I was about to pull the trigger on one. Now I have to go check out the one you have! your tent looks very similar to the Smokey Hut. Frying pan looks nice too. Wish I could have got a great deal on the Exped too. Can't ask for much more - Camping, Hot Tent and Sacred Bacon! Interested to see how your tent does in the dead of winter. I was leary on getting the One Tigris since the price was so affordable and how it would do in extreme weather.

I am not worried about the leaves. Too wet to burn this time of the year. The ticks are an issue but they're all over. I spent just as much time around the shelter as in it. Also the leaves are a shield from the wet cold ground. This time of the year they're a net positive IMO. Now in August that's another story. More ticks and drier. Thanks for watching!

For that price, that is a good backpacking tipi. It certainly rivals anything that OneTigris has available that all the UA-cam gear reviewers are posting about. How does it compare to your small Kifaru 4 man tipi? It will be interesting to see how this shelter holds up during winter outings.

The 4-man is much stronger given the 1000d tie-offs, cone, thicker pole etc. etc. However for the money it seems good! I think it might be a similar tipi as the OneTigris but with the second door option. Not sure but will know more after the first snow storm. Thanks!

Interesting video. Good stuff. Very entertaining. I just subscribed. What is your favorite sleeping bag? What is your backpack size and name brand? Thank you so much for sharing this video. God bless you.

Thanks for the video - I am looking to enlarge on my Kifaru paratipi and small folding stove so I’ll try to find a “toucan tipi chimney tent” via Google, unless you can post a link. You’re obviously a fellow “geardo” but can I suggest you edit your videos - not sure how much value anyone gets from almost 8 solid minutes of you gathering a few saplings, then sawing & splitting. After the first one, I think we can all follow the narrative LOL.

That little stove will work great unless you have high winds and than trouble can happen. The vent pipe can and will be blown over causing a real disaster for your camp sight.

I see it wasn't just the tent that was ultralight...the stove is lightweight too...titanium...and sticker shock of $360 . I had never seen a stovepipe that rolled up like that. I doubt I could get a regular roll of tin from the hardware store to roll the opposite direction that it is packaged in. Is the stovepipe titanium too ??? I may opt to build my own clunky stove out of an oversized ammo can. Won't be anything ultralight about it. I like that tent too...nice to see colors that blend in to the scenery.

Everything about the stove is Ti minus the stainless legs and nuts. I am working on an inexpensive stainless take down stove which will be cheap and UL. The video will be out in a few weeks.

@@MegaWoodswalker Have you seen some of the military parachute shelters posted on youtube ? Can make a tipi out of them or some other shelter. I got a parachute for $45 at an indoor flea market a few months ago...had never seen one sold before. In the same booth there is another one for sale again. I'm tempted to buy it too ! :D
