You have been officially Dimashified. I am an American but have lived in Dimash's native Kazakhstan for a dozen years. Thus, I began following him during his breakout involvement in the Chinese competition 'The Singer' involving China's top singers, with Dimash the only foreigner. There are dozens of songs that I could recommend. Dimash is not just a great singer; he is a great innovator. If he hears some technique that he likes -- from anywhere in the world, he will master that technique and incorporate it into his own music. Because he has two music-related master's degrees and plays numerous instruments, he is very involved in development of his songs, whether developed especially for him or adapted as a cover. One of the world's top music composer came out of retirement to work with Dimash. They work beautifully together. The songs produced by Igor Krutoy include Olimpico, which was sung in Italian and developed to launch an international sports events. Dimash is an addiction that is so worth having. Dimash covers every genre of music from pure opera to Kazakh rap---and everything in between. He calls it "neo-classical." I simply call it the most thrilling music of my entire quite long lifetime. You are free, of course, to dabble in his amazing catalog of performances wherever you like, but I would hope that you don't jump directly to his brand new video without first sampling some of the incredible songs and performances he has produced from 2017 on. I suspect "Love Is Like a Dream," is one that will touch you deeply, as well as "Love of Tired Swans," (choose a live performance before going to the music video), "Adagio," (the 2017 performance on the Chinese reality show, I Am Singer), "Ave Maria," and "Ikanaide," for starters. He also sings a very emotional folk song, "Marigolds," to a adoring, peaceful audience in Ukraine prior to the current war there. Some background that might help you to know why this song is sung so passionately by Dimash. It originated in a French-Canadian rock opera in the '70s. Dimash discovered it as a 13 year old in 2007 when Gregory Lemarchal, a contestant on a French talent show, sang it shortly before dying at the age of 23. Gregory had cystic fibrosis but managed to win the show in spite of having to act, dance and sing with only 25 percent of his lung capacity. His performances of that song are incredibly emotional and Dimash, good hearted, kind soul that he is, empathized and began singing the song himself. Then, a few years ago, Dimash's good friend, fellow Kazakh citizen and champion Olympic figure skater, Denis Ten, was murdered at the age of 25 by a couple of guys stealing items off his car. So Dimash sings it in tribute to both Gregory and Denis, and with an understandable amount of passion every time.

Hello and thanks for your reaction. You mentioned watching his latest song next, but I wouldn't really recommend it for now, as it's just a nice pop song, it's nothing too special in my opinion. There are quite a few stellar performances of other songs I would suggest you pick as a freshly introduced person to Dimash than his latest one. "Sinful Passion" in Sochi 2018 is a spectacular performance, which most people recommend as the second song to watch from Dimash. There is also a very recent song called "The Story of One Sky", which an anti-war song he was working on for 2-3 years. I also think "Ogni Pietra" (aka Olimpico) is amongst his best ones. I would suggest checking what people recommend in the comments, as generally speaking, the recommendations usually give you a pretty good idea of the order you should watch his most iconic performances.

Indeed, what I love about Dimash is that he does not use his vocal abilities to show off, but to serve the song: through his voice, he’s telling us a story. The new song 'Together' is good, the music was composed by his younger brother Mansur, who's 16 years old, and you'll both him and Dimash's sister in the MV. But maybe first check out a few of his other songs, perhaps from the Chinese show Singer 2017. I'd also recommend 'Sinful Passion', the performance with original band A-Studio was also pivotal in his career. You'll see Russian composer Igor Krutoy in the audience, who has since worked with Dimash quite a bit. Another excellent song is 'Love is Like A Dream', it has Igor (who composed the music) on piano. Almost all his songs are amazing as he has a wide range of vocal techniques.He's also a great humanitarian; as examples I suggest the anti-war songs 'War and Peace' (in Mandarin) or if you really want something incredible that shows his potential beyond singing there's the music video version of 'The Story of One Sky'.
🎶💚🤗 I cried when I first heard SOS. Pretty much every Dimash song is an intense experience for most of us Dears (Dimash fans), whether it's laughing with joy or crying with pain or rapture. I often find myself entirely absorbed in his performances, typically stunned speechless the first time I see a particular video, and sometimes still on the 50th viewing. And always satisfyingly entertained. To use the phrase from his song Be With Me (he composed the music -- he's a gifted composer) you should "Get Ready". Indeed, I recommend you make one of your early reactions be to the official Music Video of Be With Me. Just be ready to fuzz the video to avoid copyright problems, but know that Dears won't mind that. The new song (Together) is something very different. The music was composed, and performed (piano and guitar parts), by Mansur, his almost painfully shy little brother (15 years old when he composed the music), with lyrics by family friends, with the theme being Dimash's worldview that we are co-creators of the world and must support each other in making our dreams come to life. The arrangement and production and MV for Together are... well, let's just say they are not especially my cup of tea, but for what really amounts to a first song and video for an extremely shy kid, who happens to have a big brother (Dimash is 6 foot 3 inches tall!) willing to sing the lead vocal, and a family music production business able to put the whole thing together, it's really pretty adorable. But Together is *nothing* like SOS! Then again, pretty much every Dimash performance is (and now one can imagine each Mansur song will be) a unique experience, from fun to heavy, intimate to epic, rap to opera, live concert rock to artistic masterpiece music videos. You have been officially Dimashified. I am an American but have lived in Dimash's native Kazakhstan for a dozen years. Thus, I began following him during his breakout involvement in the Chinese competition 'The Singer' involving China's top singers, with Dimash the only foreigner. There are dozens of songs that I could recommend. Dimash is not just a great singer; he is a great innovator. If he hears some technique that he likes -- from anywhere in the world, he will master that technique and incorporate it into his own music. Because he has two music-related master's degrees and plays numerous instruments, he is very involved in development of his songs, whether developed especially for him or adapted as a cover. One of the world's top music composer came out of retirement to work with Dimash. They work beautifully together. The songs produced by Igor Krutoy include Olimpico, which was sung in Italian and developed to launch an international sports events. I am grateful to have six years worth of Dimash performances under my belt and I'm sorry that it has taken you this long to discover the world's most incredible vocal performer but am thrilled that you now have! Dimash is an addiction that is so worth having. Dimash covers every genre of music from pure opera to Kazakh rap---and everything in between. He calls it "neo-classical." I simply call it the most thrilling music of my entire quite long lifetime. You are free, of course, to dabble in his amazing catalog of performances wherever you like, but I would hope that you don't jump directly to his brand new video without first sampling some of the incredible songs and performances he has produced from 2017 on. I suspect "Love Is Like a Dream," is one that will touch you deeply, as well as "Love of Tired Swans," (choose a live performance before going to the music video), "Adagio," (the 2017 performance on the Chinese reality show, I Am Singer), "Ave Maria," and "Ikanaide," for starters. He also sings a very emotional folk song, "Marigolds," to a adoring, peaceful audience in Ukraine prior to the current war there. And speaking of war, Dimash is a peace lover and wrote another emotional and epic song, "War and Peace," which he has performed masterfully both in Ukraine and for a digital show he did in 2021. Hijo de una soprano y un cantante pop famoso en Kazajistán, tiene oído absoluto, estudia música y canto desde los 5 años, se graduó en canto lírico y contemporáneo (le ofrecieron cantar como tenor en la ópera Astana, pero prefirió hacer carrera como cantante popular), tiene un máster en composición musical, está haciendo un doctorado en musicología, multi instrumentista (toca 8 instrumentos a la perfección), canta en 13 idiomas y te llega directo al alma en cualquiera de ellos, tríeme un registro de 7,7 octavas! Some background that might help you to know why this song is sung so passionately by Dimash. It originated in a French-Canadian rock opera in the '70s. Dimash discovered it as a 13 year old in 2007 when Gregory Lemarchal, a contestant on a French talent show, sang it shortly before dying at the age of 23. Gregory had cystic fibrosis but managed to win the show in spite of having to act, dance and sing with only 25 percent of his lung capacity. His performances of that song are incredibly emotional and Dimash, good hearted, kind soul that he is, empathized and began singing the song himself. Then, a few years ago, Dimash's good friend, fellow Kazakh citizen and champion Olympic figure skater, Denis Ten, was murdered at the age of 25 by a couple of guys stealing items off his car. So Dimash sings it in tribute to both Gregory and Denis, and with an understandable amount of passion every time.

Hello and thanks for your reaction. You mentioned watching his latest song next, but I wouldn't really recommend it for now, as it's just a nice pop song, it's nothing too special in my opinion. There are quite a few stellar performances of other songs I would suggest you pick as a freshly introduced person to Dimash than his latest one. "Sinful Passion" in Sochi 2018 is a spectacular performance, which most people recommend as the second song to watch from Dimash. There is also a very recent song called "The Story of One Sky", which an anti-war song he was working on for 2-3 years. I also think "Ogni Pietra" (aka Olimpico) is amongst his best ones.
I would suggest checking what people recommend in the comments, as generally speaking, the recommendations usually give you a pretty good idea of the order you should watch his most iconic performances.
Dimash is the best performer in the whole galaxy! He sings each note with such good placement that it seems that he has an instrument in his throat.

Dimash has a vocal range of over 7 octaves, which is quite impressive; but that’s not what defines him. He sounds exquisite at any range, which is incredible in and of itself.
Besides, his voice has so many colors and tone to it, not mentioning his vocal dynamics. His voice is soaring only to express his intense emotions, whether it’s a cry for help (SOS), a yearning (Samaltau), or to express pain or loss (The Story of One Sky). Dimash, being a composer himself (“Unforgettable Day”- Ұмытылмас күн, The Story of One Sky, El Amor en Ti…), knows how the song he interprets must be delivered. Indeed, what I love about Dimash is that he does not use his vocal abilities to show off, but to serve the song: through his voice, he’s telling us a story.
In short, he’s not only a masterful vocalist - It’s precisely thanks to his mastery that Dimash is able to freely dive, and tap, into his emotions; but he’s also a great storyteller. What I love about him as well is the way he immerses himself in the songs he sings.
Thus, Dimash is not a mere vocalist, but a true artist who sings in the service of the song first and foremost, and certainly not to show off his insane vocal abilities. Case in point: songs such as Amanat, Okay, Qairan Elim, Qaragym Ai, Give Me Love… where he doesn’t use his powerful voice and high belting, simply because the songs don’t call for it (all available on his UA-cam channel). The new song 'Together' is good, the music was composed by his younger brother Mansur, who's 16 years old, and you'll both him and Dimash's sister in the MV. But maybe first check out a few of his other songs, perhaps from the Chinese show Singer 2017. I'd also recommend 'Sinful Passion', the performance with original band A-Studio was also pivotal in his career. You'll see Russian composer Igor Krutoy in the audience, who has since worked with Dimash quite a bit. Another excellent song is 'Love is Like A Dream', it has Igor (who composed the music) on piano. Almost all his songs are amazing as he has a wide range of vocal techniques.He's also a great humanitarian; as examples I suggest the anti-war songs 'War and Peace' (in Mandarin) or if you really want something incredible that shows his potential beyond singing there's the music video version of 'The Story of One Sky'.
🎶💚🤗 I cried when I first heard SOS. Pretty much every Dimash song is an intense experience for most of us Dears (Dimash fans), whether it's laughing with joy or crying with pain or rapture. I often find myself entirely absorbed in his performances, typically stunned speechless the first time I see a particular video, and sometimes still on the 50th viewing.
And always satisfyingly entertained. To use the phrase from his song Be With Me (he composed the music -- he's a gifted composer) you should "Get Ready". Indeed, I recommend you make one of your early reactions be to the official Music Video of Be With Me. Just be ready to fuzz the video to avoid copyright problems, but know that Dears won't mind that.
The new song (Together) is something very different. The music was composed, and performed (piano and guitar parts), by Mansur, his almost painfully shy little brother (15 years old when he composed the music), with lyrics by family friends, with the theme being Dimash's worldview that we are co-creators of the world and must support each other in making our dreams come to life.
The arrangement and production and MV for Together are... well, let's just say they are not especially my cup of tea, but for what really amounts to a first song and video for an extremely shy kid, who happens to have a big brother (Dimash is 6 foot 3 inches tall!) willing to sing the lead vocal, and a family music production business able to put the whole thing together, it's really pretty adorable.
But Together is *nothing* like SOS! Then again, pretty much every Dimash performance is (and now one can imagine each Mansur song will be) a unique experience, from fun to heavy, intimate to epic, rap to opera, live concert rock to artistic masterpiece music videos.
It was great to see you Dimashified, though this SOS song, which is always one heck of an emotional baptism, made for an especially tough experience of watching you react no doubt amplified by your knowledge of French! 💚
