TDOT HELP Truck Clears I-75 South

TDOT is dedicated to quick clearance of roadway incidents. On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, a gentle (but powerful) nudge from a TDOT HELP truck helped clear I-75 South in Knoxville, allowing the roadway to reopen quickly following an earlier crash.
The mission of HELP is to minimize traffic congestion, promote the safe movement of people and products, and improve the travel environment. HELP trucks and operators work in partnership with emergency response agencies and other TDOT units as part of a highway incident management team.

I worked TDOT HELP for 9 yrs in Nashville Tennessee until I broke my back in a MVA in 2010. 👍🏻❤️

Thank you for your work. I don't live in Tennessee, I live in Washington State. But I was wondering how did you get a job doing incident response, I'm just out of high school and I was wondering what the qualifications for this job are?

I wonder if this accident was a caused from a 6" deep pot hole.

He probably could have started with the chain and avoided smashing the rear end in.

Zip_Zero_ZILCH I doubt that TDOT was responsible for the back bumper, the car had been in a mva did you not see the debris in the road.

Zip_Zero_ZILCH it may have been the Help operator fault,but if it was Tn.wil pay for it,he wasn’t doing what he was taught. I was a Help operator for 9yr. Of coarse if Tn pays , its really us tax payers that pay.

I do the same in MI, we can push but only non crash disableds and we only use vans... its lovely in the snow.
