I would give the Japanese maple more room to grow. Think of how it will look fully grow 20-30 ft tall
It’s a smaller variety. Does not grow very tall. But if it does shade more I can relocate the plants I have under.
My Japanese maple that I planted for my Dad in 2005 is 25 feet but the shade is nice
